We saw the Vancouver Whalers, lead by captain defense man take Cody Black take on the reigning champions, in Kelowna - lead by Stacker Pentecost. This was a highly anticipated match up, as the two are very successful franchises - who have had decent seasons thus far. Whalers' defensive play, lead by the stacked defense consisting of Cody Black, Montel Vontavious Porter, Lukas Berger and Alexi Orlov would be key, as they took up the task of attempting to limit the Knights' high powered offense, consisting of Mainio Mäkinen, Jonathan Lundberg and Tony Flow, but also try to get the ball past superstar goalie Christoffer Björnsson. With that being said, team play from their respective sides was necessary for whomever wanted to win. Unfortunately for Vancouver, Kelowna played better as a unit.

<div align="center">FIRST PERIOD</div>
As soon as the game began, we saw Kelowna come out aggressive. Lundberg won the initial face off between himself and McEichel, and instantly put up a shot, but missed. This was followed by two shots from Tony Flow and Naeem Chamas. Their play was so fast paced that the Whalers were unable to take their first shot until nearing four minutes into the first period, in which Sanders' shot was deflected by Riley Mason into the goal - the Whalers' offense stepping up when it most mattered. Following eight minutes of back and forth play, the Knights soon gained the upper hand when Oduya stole the puck from McEichel and handled the puck throughout the ice for a goal.
Score: 2-1 Knights

<div align="center">SECOND PERIOD</div>
That first period was filled with action. The second period, not at all. McEichel won the face off, beginning aggressive play by his Whalers. Both defenses played stellar this period, with both goalies and several players from each side blocking shots. Nearing the fifth minute, Whalers were granted multiple opportunities to score - taking seven shots and missing them all until losing possession of the puck. This was followed by back and forth action, with both teams gaining opportunities to score, yet wasting them. This was a very rough period too, with both teams putting on a show of hits. Unfortunately, no one scored this period.
Score: 2-1 Knights

<div align="center">THIRD PERIOD</div>
After a boring second period, in which no goals were scored - the Whalers were in a very tough position. In order to win, they'd need two more goals. Despite their strength at the forward positions, this was a very tough task - as it would be for any other team in the junior league. Knights' defense wasn't having it though. It took fourteen minutes for a play to happen, in which the scoring forward Sanders sent the puck toward the net - and Mason tipped in, for Mason's second goal of the game and Sander's second assist. A minute and a half later, Laaksonen of the Knights immediately responded, missing a shot but scoring the rebound. With only five minutes left, Whalers put on a show - sending a barrage of shots on the Knights. But unfortunately, it wasn't enough and the Knights defense lead them to the win, winning in somewhat of a dominating fashion.
Score: 3-2 Knights
