LITTLE TALK WITH JP
Shortly before draft we met Admirals main admiral - JumpierPegasus (JP). Admirals is one of two expansion team, so it is interesting to hear JP opinion about team.

How you decided that its time to be a GM?
I spent quite a few years as an SMJHL GM working down there, and it made me gain skills necessary to take over as a head GM at the SHL level. I've been here for 20 seasons now, and I felt like I needed to take on a new challenge. I had been a global mod, junior gm, commissioner, and now wanted to take on being a GM at the SHL level. I was excited that right after I stepped down from St. Louis and created my goalie that there was SHL expansion. Getting a GM was something I didn't expect, and it was a great honor to receive.

Was it hard to find the right team name?
It was impossible. The original plans I sent into the Head Office was the Portland Brewers. I didn't have a concrete idea and most of my application was based on the merit that I was a good GM and that it didn't matter if I had a great idea to begin with as I could easily get one and what was more important was that I was a fit GM for the role due to experience.

Your predictions about next season?
I feel like this team is improving at a rapid pace. Maybe next season isn't the one that we will make the playoffs, but I think we will start to take a turn in that direction. We are a good team, and as I improve in net, we will begin to get better, especially with first overall this season.

Your biggest mistake and biggest achievement while you are GM?
In the SMJHL I made a large mistake one season by drafting Stacker Pentecost first overall. He was the guy who was supposed to be the best, but he ended up leaving pretty quickly and it was a terrible decision. In the SHL so far I feel like I've mostly made good decisions, especially when it comes to drafting. Getting players like Sven Karlsson and Nikolaus Scholz is round 2, as well as getting one of the biggest steals past the third round in a very long time in Andris Bukss. Then moving first rounders for established prospects in Buster Killington and Patrick Brumm. I feel like I have excelled in drafting and pick related decisions so far as a GM, which is especially good as I try to find my feet and understand value at an SHL level.

The S27 entry draft has finished. Before this season draft was made big hype about left winger Reinis Aumeistars, he organised big advertisement campaign "I want to Portland Admmirals". When we talked to Admirals GM he said that will see, but from secure informators i can say that Portland didnt planed drafting Aumeistars.
The draft hype was so big that many of drafties and fans had builded tents next to enterence, although till draft was half week. Even GM was little nervous, but only calm person was Admirals GM probably cause he had the first pick.
So what drafted Portland?
1OA - Krysztof Kowalski
15OA - Maximillian WÃ¤chter
19OA - Riley Mason
All lower pick was passed, so what we can say about new Admirals?
Krysztof Kowalski is very smart player, cause have 31 hit and 6 PIMs in previous season. He canfind the right moment when to hit down opponent and dont get penalty. In offence also he wasnt bad, in first season in SMJHL he got 23 points (11+12), i see bright future him in Portland.
Maximillian WÃ¤chter had joined to Vancouver in the second part of season, had many PIMs. He probably will be sent down to SMJHL, but if he will train hard, then we all will hear about him.
Riley Mason has similar statistic like Krysztof Kowalski, but little more PIMs. Also great scorer and assistant. Shortly saying Admirals are building up some muscles. Next time i will tell more about our new teammates.

A JOKE
Two little boys playing with toys and talking. One from boy say: "You know, my mother is so afraid from everything. For example, yesterday evening she locked doors of room, pulled on father, then she pulled on blanket and anyway screemed, just dont let in!"

RUMORS ABOUT DRAFT AFTERPARTY
After draft Admirals had party for new drafties to better fit in team. Also was invited all SMJHL GM to thank them for leading drafties in the correct way. The evening started peacfull, JP started with declamation about new season and showed new drafties to team. Such was the oficial part, but the best things happened in unoficial part. Ofcourse journalists wasnt welcome in the second part, so we gathered some rumors.
For drafties there was also initiation. Was only one task, kiss the ass of GM. All drafties was lead out and Bukss, Brumm prepared. Of course drafties didnt kissed real ass, just we used services of stripper. She squeezed together her boobs and if you are blindfolded you cant feel the difference. After kissing "ass" the stripper stepped aside and when untied the eyes, there was ass of Brumm. So first went through initiation was our 1OA pick Krysztof Kowalski, he surely was following Bukss, who led him by the hand. He kissed without thinking, but when he loosed his eyes he was shocked and started spitting seeing Brumm ass. But he passed the initiation. The next was Maximillian WÃ¤chter and then also Riley Mason. But when Kowalski saw what kind of ass he kissed, he started laught, also Maximillian laughed when Riley kissed "ass". Of course Mason also saw what kind of "ass" he kissed. Such was initiations in Admirals.
When the party was finished some of guys wanted to continue partying, so they went to other club. When was drunk enough courage, guys (Bukss, Brumm, Killington also Nevzorov, ok all active Admirals) made a naked bike ride in Portland. But unfortunately people did not like it (the main reason , because there is no year has passed since last ride) and everyone woke up in the morning at the police station.
