Drouin asks out

Am I the only one that thinks Drouin isn't as good as advertised? I just don't think he is as good as he thinks he is or fans think he is.
When he's on the ice I've been pretty impressed with him at times and shake my head others. He's gotta simplify his play if he's on a team like TB, or if he's on a team that can let him try to explode let him go and do his thing. Then he'll be successful. He's not a good fit with how he's trying to play and how the team wants him to play.

Thank you to My boys @Merica and @Ragnar for the lovely sigs!

Is MDC really a similar prospect at this point?

Yakupov is an interesting mention but you have to wonder if Colorado takes a run.

I know Colorado and its fans think the world of him, but if they take a run, you have to think Rantanen is one of the first targets for TB.

Yeah I'm fully prepared to not be thrilled about the return for him. But he doesn't have a spot on the roster right now and given he's not exactly useful in the bottom 6, and he's not producing enough in the top 6 it might be time to move on. I just hope it's a stomachable return.

(Or if the Ducks managed to pull him away Wink  )
I feel like this might be the Devils opportunity to trade from their position of strength (defense) for a real legitimate youth on offense, Drouin could be the long term solution we're looking for at center and we have the pieces to give up on our backend, we could even take back a bad contract from Tampa like Coburn or something to make it work, and that way they also have more cap space in the summer to sign Stamkos.

Where would he fit on the ducks lol they deeper than tampa
They're not as deep imo, they're top-heavy. They don't have a LWer that I'd consider a top 6 LW and they only have 4 top 6 forwards in the lineup right now.

???-Getzlaf-Perry
???-Kesler-Silf

Then you've got a bunch of meh pieces to fill in the rest (Aside from Rakell who I like but prefer him as a center)

Maroon, Horcoff, Thompson, Stewart, Sekac, Cogliano, Hagelin, Santorelli

I'd love to pick up Drouin (Even at the expense of one of the defenders like Vatanen, a prospect and a 1st or 2nd)

Rakell-Getzlaf-Perry
Drouin-Kesler-Silf
Hagelin-Horcoff-Cogliano
Sekac-Thompson-Santo/Stewart

Fowler(When Healthy)-Despres (When Healthy)
Lindholm-Bieksa/Manson
Stoner-Theodore

If Tampa was giving up a bad contract it would be Carle since they don't want him. I don't know how much the Bolts would be looking at defense in a trade like this one, If it was an upgrade over Sustr or Nesterov it might be worth it, but I think they might be looking up front for impact up front. (Which is why I don't see the Ducks picking him up either as much as I'd like them to :( ) You figure they have Stamkos, Palat, Kucherov, Johnson Killorn and Namestnikov all due raises either this off-season or next. I don't see them being able to re-sign all of them unless they get the feel Vasilevsky is ready to be a starter (I think he could be) and move Bishop.

Most points per 60 on the team and is better without Stamkos on a line with him statistically. Absolute joke that the Bolts are handling him how they are.

Why wouldn't they want to help Yzerman out?
