Kelowna Knights vs Prince George Firebirds Starting Line-Ups ![]() Dieter Dominique (C.) - Mikko Linna (LW) - Kyle LeBlanc (RW) Mia Landvik (D1) - Fedor Shirobokov (D2) Mikke Laukkanen (G) ![]() Nicolas Winter (C.) - Dean Banger (LW) - Stinkywink Dupoopoo (RW) Barack Obrana (D1) - Hunky Monkey (D2) Kaapo Kahkonen (G) </div> 1st Period A very interesting start of the game, first period full of action between this inner conference matchup and a battle for a better spot in the playoffs. One minute in the game Ser Duncan got 2 minutes for tripping. Although Kelowna had lots of chances and shots, they couldn't move in an early lead. Then it was Firebirds time to try their luck in powerplay, first at 3:43, but with no goals. Then again Mathias Rossberg got 2 minutes for tripping and at the end of the powerplay Prince George managed to get one in the net. Randolph Grey with a precise shot, Nicolas Winter and John Beckner with assists. Then only 30 seconds later Denis Lever answered with a goal for Kelowna. Janis Mazmiesis with the assist. And then 2 minutes later Knights took the lead, with Fedor Shirobokov beating the Firebirds goalkeeper, Mikko Linna and Mia Landvik getting their assist points. Knights shot the puck 12 times, against 8 by Firebirds. 2nd Period Second period slightly less interesting than the first one, as both teams started to play smarter hockey, not just running from one end to another. Alexander Loseb got 2 minutes for elbowing, but Kelowna couldn't score in the powerplay. Despite Firebirds tries to tie the game, Oskar Ollson doubled the lead 2 minutes before the end of the period, with Janis Mazmiesis and David McDavid getting assists. No other goals were scored this period, but Prince George Firebirds will have to go all in, if they want to save this game. Shots on goal 7 for Kelowna, 5 for Firebirds. Third Period Firebirds actually did that. They went all in, playing both smart and aggressive. It resulted in penalty for Kelowna's player Dieter Dominique. But Prince George couldn't get back one goal this powerplay. Halfway trough the period, Firebirds got back one goal, with Donald Trump scoring and Barack Obrana and Hunky Monkey assisting. They started to push even more, but the Knights were amazing defending their net, blocking shots and clearing the net. And so Prince George Firebirds didn't manage to tie the game, the game ends 3-2 with Kelowna Knights getting the W. 10 shots for Kelowna this period against 9 for PGF. Maybe it was because of Cayden Lewis early penalty, which was the only one in whole period. Vancouver gained puck in this powerplay and didn't really let it go before the period ended. But despite lots of shots and chances coming from Whalers, they couldn't get the puck in Casey Holmes net and the first period ended in a scoreless tie. 5 shots on goal for Scarecrows against 14 for Whalers. 2nd Period A lot more interesting period than first, Scarecrows actually controlled the puck like Whalers did it in first period. Lots of penalties in a total combined of 12 PIM's. One of the penalties was earned by Whalers goalkeeper Triforce Link for slashing. St. Louis Scarecrows opened the score with defenseman Marc-Andre Malkin taking a fantastic slapshot from the blue, Eugene Feist and Dos Diablo getting the assists. A quick powerplay goal for Whalers 2 minutes later, as Cayden Lewis got penalty for hooking at 9:55, but Pablo Biznete scored the powerplay goal only two seconds later, with Eric Verstappen assisting. No more goals were scored this period, Scarecrows dominated with 16 shots on goal, but only one in, instead of 1 goal of 9 shots for Whalers. Tie game into the third period, 1-1. Third Period Early in the third Vancouver regained their dominant first period game and scored and early go-ahead goal, Strawberry Blake with a precis shot and Eric Verstappen and Yakov Pinehero with assists. Moving in the lead Whalers didn't stop their offensive push and went for a two goal 6 minutes in the period, Eric Verstappen finally got his own goal after assisting in the first two team goals. This time assists went to Strawberry Blake and Yakov Pinehero. Five minutes later Gustav-Hans Mohrs got 2 minutes in the sin bin for boarding and Levi Kubrak minute in the powerplay made it a 3 goal lead, with Lars Dahlstrom getting the assist. That put a nail in the Scarecrows coffin, Whalers lead this period with 15 shots on goal against 10 for Scarecrows. Endgame result 4-1, Vancouver Whalers getting the W.
