Can a team of people good enough to play in the NHL be beaten by a team of people who either aren't ready for the NHL or aren't good enough for the NHL. :-?

I suppose it's possible, just not probable.

Probability and possibility are not the same.

Yes, it's possible. Most things usually are.

But probable? Different story. I'd say the probability of an AHL team winning is fairly low, but it depends on the year.

But probabilities show that almost anything has at least a very small possibility. It's not all that different.

Probable: AHL team is not likely to win
Possible: AHL team can win

No. There's a reason they are in the AHL and not the NHL yet.

It's actually very distinctly different.

CAN they? Yes

Are the odds in favour of it happening? No most likely not.

I'm sure there's a few seasons were it's a good debate but their two different levels of hockey and odds will almost always be in the NHL team's favour. But yes it CAN happen, would love to see this tbh.

My university beat the Bingo Sens this year.....

I'd say anything can happen between an AHL team and a terrible NHL team.
