Terry Fox Foundation is known to be well-known foundation throughout the whole world, for what he did for cancer is incredible the lives he has changed is quite amazing. A few of the Renegades were invited in Toronto when they were there for a game to the Terry Fox Foundation to do some activities. Sterling Knight, Liam Kinsler were the main people to come to the event, at first they went on quite a run with lots of people because that’s what Terry Fox is all about from the beginning. If you didn’t know Terry Fox had his leg amputated and he wanted to bring awareness to the world but he didn’t do this by going door to door he was quite an athlete so he started running across Canada but before he finished his whole trip running across he passed away. After that Terry Fox Foundation was formed and it has been single handily one of the best organizations out there. No other organization is corporated to it or anything like that it’s just truly Terry Fox Foundation. Every year it happens on a specific day in Canada, where kids run, walk or do many tons of activities to bring awareness. After the running, Kinsler had to run a few games of soccer, basketball, hockey with the kids. Knight was doing the fundraising part of the event, where all the adults came and donated a lot for the cause. Just before the fundraising there was a raffle, first place got iPad, second place got iTunes gift card and last place got amazon gift card. There tons of draws and three lucky people came out to win it. In the end, everyone was given out free t-shirt and free food for coming. There would be food for everyone, what’s an event without food? Single Dream, One Hope.

A couple of days before their home opener, the Kelowna Knights hosted a charity dinner and silent auction to benefit the Kelowna Community Food Bank. Many key members of the Knights, including captain Mikko Linna, alternate captains Mia Landvik and Mikael Talo, goaltender Mikke Laukkanen, and star winger Dieter Dominique attended the event. The players mingled with guests, introduced auction items, and even took turns trying their hand at bartending and serving drinks.

Auction items included game worn and signed jerseys, a set of season tickets behind the home bench, autographed sticks from every player on the team ,a chance to skate with the team after practice, and an opportunity to watch pre-game warmups from the penalty box. One of Landvik’s signed sticks and Talo’s game worn jersey fetched the highest bids of the night.

There was a photo booth, where guests could pose for pictures with their favorite player. Dominique was the clear favorite at the photo booth, showing up with a box of accessories--fake moustaches, silly hats, feather boas, and costume jewelry--to spice things up.

In addition to the money raised at the event, guests were invited to bring non perishable items to donate to the food bank and the Knights announced that a free Knights foam finger or pennant would be handed out at their home opener to anyone who brought an item to donate. Everyone who donated an item at the home opener would also have their names entered into a raffle to win two tickets on the glass for a future home game of their choosing.

The event was a success and through the auction and other monetary donations, the team was able to earn over thirty thousand dollars for the food bank. They were also able to collect enough food through donations at the dinner and at the game to provide over 500 hamper bundles to be given out to families at one of the food bank’s many hamper distributions.

The Knights would like to thank everyone who participated in these events.

In LA it´s quite common that you see the LAP players in all kinds of charity events. The team don´t actually force the players to do charity, but all the players are up for it every time a chance to do something comes up. Its a great way to spend your time when you can help out and of course you get to meet some fans.

This time I decided to donate my time to organization called ´Online Help´. They focus on teaching people about the dangers of internet. I took Anton Fedorov with me and together we basically shared some tips that we have learned about the internet and what you should and should not share with the world.

Hockey players are being watched by the media all the time, so we must be careful what we say or do in the internet, one bad joke or a picture could end up being a scandal that costs us our job. Same thing can happen to everybody, so perhaps the biggest advice we shared with the group was that once you say something or upload a picture into the internet, its almost impossible to delete. Think and don´t trust anybody in the internet.

We both spoke about ten minutes each to a room full of people, there was close to 50 people listening to us speak which was nice, but still quite nerve wracking since I have never talked to that many people at once! Anton was like at home in front of the crowd.

After our part was done, we listened to true internet safety professionals speak and I must admit that it was a educational afternoon for all parties involved. It´s always great if you can help the community even little bit, but it´s even better if you learn something while doing so. Cant really put a price on something like that.

The Dragons like to have fun on and off the ice, and it's even better when you can raise money for a great charity in the process; The Young Steelhead Foundation. TYSF was started by Esa in his second year as GM for the Dragons, and it is an excellent program that sends children of all ages to his camp, which involves fishing, making and eating chicken parms, and of course hockey.

This year, the event to raise money was a blind scavenger hunt. The Dragons were split into two teams; team red and team white. Half of the teams would be on the field and would be responsible for retrieving the items, however, they are blindfolded and cannot see. The other team halves know where the items are and have to direct their team via a headset. The winning team wins Calgary Dragons memorabilia for the fans that are on their team. This teaches the team trust and increases the bond among teammates. There are also dunk tanks, carnival games, and delicious food items to ensure the crowd is always entertained.

This year the team did a playoff, starting with the full roster split into two, and then parsing the winning team over and over again until only one team remained. The winning fans would get a prize after each round, so this made sure everyone went home with something. This year's finalists were Esa-Jagr and Jala-Hill. The final is a race to one item, and this one was a rubber duck. Hill and Jala seemed to be on pace to getting there first, but then Jala made a comment about Hill's socks not matching yesterday's pajamas and Hill directed Jala right into a tree. It wasn't much better on the other side, as Jagr couldn't understand what the hell Esa was saying because he was stuffing his face with parms. As a result, the contest ended in a tie.

The turn out was terrific and the team plans to have a lottery putting teams into pairings for next year and doing a playoff bracket like that.

Los Angeles, the City of Angels…which includes parties with celebrities and some of the most beautiful people in the world, but on occasion, those parties can be for a good cause.

This was one such night, where the Los Angeles Panthers and there newly drafted players, including Sebastian Strange, Cleo Green, Maximus Sarone, Felix Herzog and Leif De Bruin, were invited to the “JumpStart Gala”, which is an event to help disadvantaged children get a good start on their education through developing their language, literacy and social skills.

LA. Panthers star, Jorma Ruutu took Sebastian under his wing for the night and introduced him to many celebs’ like Russell Simmons, Leo DiCaprio, Michael Jordan, Stevie Wonder and Mary J Blige. Also, when asked about the event Sebastian had this to say:

“The JumpStart Gala is a great event to bring awareness to those children that are disadvantaged and help them get some of the basic skills they will need in life to not only function in todays society, but also to succeed in an ever demanding world.

Many people take literacy and social skills for granted, but they are the fundamental building blocks for success for any young person and without them life can be a lot harder, with potentially limited options, which we are trying to prevent. Every child should have a world of possibilities in front of them.

I am proud to also be donating to this event, as are all the LA Panthers.”

Sebastian, as some of you know was born to Russian parents, but was “given away” as an infant to Canadian parents. Sebastian was lucky to be raised in a caring and loving home that could provide him the needed literacy and social tools to succeed in life, but so many children are disadvantaged and need a helping hand.

This year’s event took place on the rooftop terrace at L’Ermitage in Beverly Hills and was hosted by Kate Upton and music was provided by celebrity DJ Tendaji Lathan.

The Kelowna Knights and Vancouver Giants, in association with Canadian Blood Services, will be participating in a "Community Rivalry". For the next month, the Knights will be encouraging members of the community to get out and donate blood by entering donors in a weekly draw for game tickets, as well as a grand prize draw for a jersey game-worn and signed by captain Mikko Linna. The winner will be selected at the end of the month.

The entire team was in attendance for the kick-off at the Kelowna General Hospital this past Sunday. Many of the players started off the day by donating blood themselves (though a few shied away from the needles).

The players traded off shifts holding the hands of scared donors, handing out juice and cookies to those who had already gotten their blood drawn, and signing things for people while they waited in line. Participants in the blood drive were given a specially made foam Knights hockey puck to squeeze and were entered into the raffle.

"We had a fun time supporting a really important cause. They gave us a lot of information about it, and I was really struck by how important it is to diversify the pool of blood donors," winger Dieter Dominique said. "And I got a lot of compliments on the cookies I made, so that's always nice, too!"

Attendees also had the opportunity to buy a special edition red Kelowna Knights t-shirt, with all proceeds going toward improving Canadian Blood Services research & development programs. The t-shirt is available in limited quantities on the team's website.

"It's really important to get out and do what we can for the community," alternate captain Mia Landvik said. "Our fans support us every weekend, and it feels good to give back. Or to help them give back, I guess."

If you're disappointed that you missed the kick-off, don't worry - you can still be a part of this community initiative and help the Knights rise above the Giants. Please visit Canadian Blood Services, 1865 Dilworth Dr, Kelowna, or check out blood.ca for more information.

Every season we see teams in various leagues taking part in some sort of teddy bear toss. This year, the New England Wolfpack have decided to take that initiative one step farther and turn it into something that hits closer to home with both the fans and players. Organized by defenseman Jasper Clayton, the team announced today that in their upcoming home game against the Seattle Riot, following the team's first goal fans should throw My Little Pony plushes onto the ice.

It's the first time the team has organized such an event so it's hard to know just what to expect, but the fans have reacted strongly to the event. Mere hours after the announcement had been made to the public, plushes were flying off the shelves as people looked to collect as many as they could to bring them to the game. "It's not often you get to throw something onto the ice," a fan told us as she was leaving Wal-Mart. "Even hat tricks, they don't happen often. So when you know you get a chance like this, AND you get to help out local kids while doing it? How could you not want to take part!"

"I've seen a lot of people reacting on twitter," said Clayton, when asked about how he thought fans would respond to the announcement. "Everyone's really excited, people are going out and buying new pony plushes to throw on the ice after our first goal. Everyone's just really excited to have the chance to give back, and have fun doing it."

Not going to be able to pick up your own pony before the game? Not to worry! The front office staff announced that My Little Pony plushes will be available for purchase at the arena for just $5. All proceeds from the purchases, along with all of the plushes that are thrown onto the ice during the game, will all be donated to local orphanages in the Boston area.

And don't worry about which plush you get. As Clayton put it, "I'm sure we can find even Apple Jack a home."

The New England Wolfpack wanted to put on a charity event for a very depressing case, the Texas Renegades. While we are talking about the Ren-naygades, let's talk about their shortcomings, They are unbelievably mean, bad, and hard people. Not to mention how bad they are at hockey. I can't believe that the Wolfpack are ahead of them in the standings. What fucking scrubs, especially Durden and Allen

So, Mainio Mäkinen, Bennett Jones, Nathan Russell, Patrikov Bure, Connor O'Reilly, Raven Silverwing, Earnest Ciarelli, and Jasper Clayton decided to put on a clinic for the Ren-naygades

So what was the gameplan? Because the renegades are so mean, we needed to make them softer and nicer, and who better to do this than the softpack? We have not only a culture of winning, but a culture of being awesome, and being softer than cotton candy and sunshine and rainbows.

Mainio, Jones, and Russell put on a clinic of how to look good, which came with tips for up softly, doing their hair up real nice, and teaching the renegades how to wear clothes that don't make them look like emos

Raven and Connor taught the members of the ren-nays how to give a damn, and get them to cry and play for fun when they are losing during games. Which they have been doing a lot recently.

And then Bure, Ciarelli, and Jasper Clayton had locked the rest of the members of the ren-nays in a giant sealed off room with a giant projector. Rainbow chairs, and fluffy couches, we let them watch a TV show that would help them adjust to the softness. This is the intro:
<object width="460" height="315"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/SnwYVGIKpdk"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/SnwYVGIKpdk" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="460" height="315"></embed></object>

While many of the members of the ren-nay gades were seen screaming, tearing their eyes out ,(even though they couldn't, we put on little plushies on their fingernails so they couldn't do so <3)
curled up in the fetal position, or twitching, they came out new people, they became soft.

It took a long time, but after enough determination and MLP seasons, we did our job! We manged to make the big bad renegades into the sawft, and innocent ren-neys

What a time to be alive.

The Portland Admirals are always up for some good charity work. This offseason a few of the guys decided to go to the Annual Portland Humane Society charity event. Christoffer Bjornsson, Viktor Svensson, Steve French, Maximilian Wächter, Kjell Eide and General Manager Zach Miller were all in attendance for the event.

The event was to raise funds for the Humane Society as well as get some animals adopted. There was a carnival and lots of other fun things to do. The Admirals in attendance also volunteered for the carnival and sat down to sign some autographs for fans. The whole event was a time to have fun and raise funds for the Humane Society. The Admirals definitely had some fun at the event. Upon arrival Steve French headed straight for the bounce house. French bounced for about five minutes for being kicked out because he was too old. Bjornsson and Svensson went to see the dogs up for adoption. Bjornsson had his eye on a cute miniature schnauzer and Svensson was cuddling with a golden retriever. Svensson ended up getting bit by the dog and his time with the animals ended. Eide and Wachter were volunteering for the carnival and riding some of the rides. They both got on the Ferris wheel together and got stuck at the top. After they got down, they decided to stick to ripping tickets instead of riding the rides. General Manager Zach Miller was working in the food both popping popcorn and selling cotton candy while watching to make sure his players were not dead.

In all the Humane Society raised about 30,000 dollars and 30 people had adopted a furry friend. In the end it was a complete success for the Portland Humane Society and the Portland Admirals. The next charity event for the Admirals will be their Annual Street Hockey Tournament they put on every year.

Tomorrow the Winnipeg Jets are hosting their 3rd annual "Dine With The Stars" meet and greet where all proceeds will go to local educational programs in Winnipeg. Those attending the event will be able to have the exclusive opportunity to be served drink and food from the very SHL stars they watch on a daily basis. Players like Johnny Cahill, Luke Fleming, Lukas Berger, Scott Robertson, Big Manious, Bryce Collins, and Elyk are confirmed as attending the event. The serving staff as usual was not easy on the players and guided them to handle the workload someone in their position would normally be accustomed to. "This stuff isn't easy man," said a panting Luke Fleming, working on the hot pea soup that is a hit among the guests every year. "I'm not usually working this hard even in practice!"

Lobster, delicious and exotic fruits, venison, prime rib - All were among the dishes served for the event. Make no mistake. no expense was spared despite the original purpose of the event. This event was fun for everyone involved, especially considering the main attraction of the evening, when the young budding stars of the Winnipeg Jets were let loose and allowed to drink while serving. This lead to a number of interesting events, including but not limited to Big Manious besting Johnny Cahill in a makeshift amateur wrestling match on the floor of the restaurant.Just 4 hours after the event and a video of the event has already reached 34,550 views on YouTube and over 3800 likes. It was not a safe for work video with the language that was being thrown around.

All in the team and all of the paying guests had a very enjoyable experience for a good cause while also enjoying some of the finest dining Winnipeg has to offer. It's just an added bonus at this point that they got to go face to face with their favorite hockey players. Oh, and they also got to fund some of the brightest young minds the country has to offer. Go Jets!

Our scene opens up to a fancy dining hall where we see many of the attendees of whatever event this may be dressed up quite nicely! In the center of the shot stands a woman wearing a nice dress, with a microphone in her hand. The microphone reads EDM-TV on the decal as she raises it up.

TV Reporter: “We’re live here at the Edmonton Conference Center where the Edmonton Blizzard are holding their annual charity event. Brett Broadway, back-up goaltender for the Blizzard, is expected to take the stage at any moment now.”

As if right on cue, the camera zooms in on the stage to catch a stumbling Broadway approaching, beer in hand. The man manages to navigate his way to the podium that is set up, which has a nice glossy Blizzard logo on it. Broadway takes in the views of the room before leaning in to his microphone.

Brett Broadway: “Did anyone see our GM? I can’t find him anywhere.”

Someone in the crowd yells something about a girl, to which Broadway responds by stumbling towards the end of the stage. A volunteer or someone with the charity approaches Broadway and directs him back to the podium, encouraging him to continue.

Brett Broadway: “Thank you all for being here. I am HONOURED to have be selected as tonight’s speaker for the annual Edmonton Comets charity event. I have been a big fan of the team for many years, and quite enjoy being able to sit on the bench with the players every night. It’s an experience that every fan dreams of.

“We’re not here tonight to talk about me though. No, we’re here to earn some damn money for a cause that each and every one of you here wants to take a stand on. Something so vile… so disturbing… something that simply just doesn’t belong on this planet.”

Broadway takes a few steps back from the podium and holds an arm up, motioning to the ceiling. From the ceiling drops a colourful banner that quickly unrolls upon Broadway’s command. The banner reveals a picture of a piece of toast and in big, bold letters reads “MAKE TOAST RICH AGAIN.” The crowd collectively gasp and murmur as Broadway returns to the podium to speak.

Brett Broadway: “Yes. Somewhere out there right now, there is a poor piece of toast. A Toast that can’t afford to purchase his season’s worth of equipment and has to panhandle on the streets, offering poorly drawn pictures for ten million dollar donations. Is this what we envisioned when we brought Toast to the world?”

The crowd starts buzzing as they respond to Broadway’s speech.

Brett Broadway: “Did we want our Toast to have to actually work for cash, when he should just be given cash like all the other privileged members of our society? Do we have to keep going like this, knowing that somewhere out there, a Toast is suffering?”

The crowd responds with a triumphant, “NO!”

Brett Broadway:
“You’re damn right we don’t! Reach into your pockets, everyone. Take out whatever coins, food items, or knick-knacks that you may own and please donate to any of my teammates who are dressed up as pieces of toast tonight. Thanks go out to Windsor, Muller, Josh Evgeni, and Aitto for being there for toasts in need. Tonight, the Edmonton Blizzard and all of you take a stand against Toast being poor. It’s time to make Toast rich again.”

The crowd roars with cheers as Broadway’s teammates join him on stage. They join in arms around each other and begin dancing to a beautiful rendition of “YEAH! TOAST!” from Jackson Rogers-Tanaka with his beautiful Japanese Norwegian voice. The camera pans back to the TV reporter who has tears in her eyes over the beautiful display.

TV Reporter: “That was the Edmonton Blizzard and Brett Broadway, here tonight for the Make Toast Rich Again foundation. Truly a beautiful thing, back to you.”

This year the New England Wolfpack will be doing a season long charity program. For each home game there will be a raffle to win a dinner out for you and two of your friends with one of the Wolfpacks very own. Winners will be announced between the 2nd and 3rd period of every game. The proceeds will benefit the player’s organization of choice for that game. Winners will be treated to an all-expenses paid for dinner during the off-season with one of the players and a gift bag including a jersey and signed puck. A limo will pick you up at your house were it will take you and your friends to dinner. Players will often bring along team mates so expect to have a crowded table but it is sure to be an amazong time. After dinner you’ll be taken to the arena for a private tour with a staff members where you’ll get a chance to see the training room, lockers and behind the scene areas normally closed off to fans. At the conclusion of the tour you’ll get the chance to skate out on the ice and pass the puck around or take shots on one of our goal tenders. The limo will drop you back off at home with tons of stories and memory of a lifetime. All of the money raised will be 100% matched by the players and ownership.

Some of this year’s charity organizations include the New England Humane Society, Bikers Against Child Abuse, The American Cancer Society, as well as local hockey charities to help bring hockey to those who cannot afford it. We hope that all of our fans consider helping out these terrific causes and enter a chance to win an experience of a life time. Please see the booth at section 120 for more details

DATELINE: Los Angeles, California

Los Angeles Panthers' defenseman Wyatt Wøllker held a press conference today, and to the fanbase's dismay, it was not to announce his retirement. Instead, he announced a new initiative to help orphaned and abandoned children from the gritty slums of inner-city L.A.

Wøllker went on to explain that the program was based on a similar project held back in Iceland. "Back in Bjøndthewall, Iceland, it was a real problem that people would leave unwanted children out in the snow. Rather than leave them to die of exposure or being eaten by wild animals, my family would take these children in, and give them shelter and clothing and educate and train them to be productive citizens. It really gave an opportunity to children who otherwise had no hope of a happy life. Los Angeles is a long ways from Iceland, but still you have similar issues - abandoned or orphaned children with nobody to care for them, we want to make a difference and give them a chance!"

With that, Wyatt turned to a projection screen behind him and announced, "and this will be the ad we will use in all forms of social media and television ... ladies and gentlemen, I give you ... Craster's Children!"

Every fall, the Toronto organization has the distinct pleasure of volunteering to take some of the most over-privileged children from Ontario and showing them the ins & outs of the hockey culture, as a whole. Yes, OVER privileged. It's a program that was started years ago by now GM JNH throughout the greater Toronto area. This year, led by team captain Kristian Eriksson, the North Stars were granted exclusive access to a number of low-class hockey facilities around the northern border of Canada. The boys in blue took nearly 20 narcissistic teenagers down south of the border and showed then what it's like to travel what is often long distances for a single game.

"These little shits haven't a clue what real working-class people have to deal with" Barney Stinson said in a short interview.

"If I could drive a Maserati to Payless and claim my sailboat was running low on gold bars maybe I could see a glimpse into the silver-spoon lives these little demons find themselves in."

Goaltender Mark Harter had an especially exciting part of the event. Upon returning to the North Stars training facility, the kids were afforded an opportunity to not only hold a hockey stick, but take shots on Toronto's star tender. As tradition, he stopped every puck and proceeded to shout profanities at the children until they were on the verge of tears.

Following that, young defender Cynthia Taylor provided little counseling to the children as she taught them the basics of hitting and shot-blocking. As a master of the art herself, she was beyond willing to demonstrate the tenacity she constantly displays on a game-by-game basis. Four children, sadly, were injured during this phase of the event. No injuries are life-threatening, and lawsuit is pending. No further comment.

Anyway, to end the myriad of activities, Adam Kylrad provided closing remarks and a reminder that not all children "are snobbish pricks" like them. Several parents were miffed by the remarks and demanded answers, but the collective management replied with a non-committal "yea ok we'll look into it sure."

CERTIFIED THREAD KILLER
MONTREAL IMPACT FOREVER

Johnny Cahill and a few of his Jets teammates including Big Manious, Malkin, and Satan recently attended the annual communal umbrella charity event in Winnipeg. This event is held every year to create a communal supply of umbrella’s throughout the city because the average Winnipeg resident loses their umbrella 5 times a year due to the dastardly winds in that prairie wind tunnel they call a city.

The boys were tasked with entertainment for the event so what else could they do besides form one of the best acapella quartets the SHL has ever seen. With Manious as the bass, Cahill as the British baritone and the other two using their pseudo manly voices to be tenors the lads were quite a hit this year. Although as hockey players the boys are used to the cold and never have to worry about whether they will have an umbrella while they are driving their sports cars to the rink it was a nice gesture for the local fans. This act of charity, chivalry, and downright hilarity did not go unnoticed by any involved; the fans, the players, or the rest of the SHL.

One fan was quoted as saying “that Manious may be a wrecking ball on the ice but has one of the most soothing voices I have ever heard”. A teammate of the 4 who will remained unnamed for quality of life reasons referred to the 4 as the greatest thing to happen to acapella since pitch perfect, and hopes that the 4 stay on with the jets rather than pursuing their sure thing of a career in the biz”. Yet another person to chime in on this extra-curricular activity was none other than Cahill’s fellow Austrian, and star pylon for the St. Louis Crow’s Alexander Cahrlyb’y. He chose to use this opportunity to make a dig at the fact that these 4 musical talents should not be in the SHL when his glorious face-off expertness is not… We just think he’s a little bitter. The Charity fundraiser turned out to be the best yet and the average Winnipeg resident will not want for an umbrella for a long time to come.
