PT prompt since the SMJHL is rumoured to be expanding soon:

Written prompt (150 word minimum): You have just been awarded a SHL expansion franchise. Where would you put it? What would you name the team, and how would you make an effective brand in a new city? As the franchise’s inaugural GM, how will you win over fans and create an environment where players want to play?

Graphic option: Create a new logo, jersey, etc. for your SHL expansion team.

Written prompt (150 word minimum): FHM is far more expansive than STHS with their attributes, but you think you can do better. Create one or more new attributes, explain what they will do, and how a high or low number will affect a player’s performance level.

Graphic option: Show your player using a new attribute that you created.

Written prompt: Create a scouting report for your player or a potential draftee. Choose an existing comparable in the SHL or what you could consider their high end/floor of their potential.
Graphic Option: Create a profile report with grades indicating the player's potential in certain areas.

For either a PT or WFT idk

There are moments which permanently define the trajectory of a sports team, for better or for worse. Be it a mid-season trade that completely changes both teams fortunes, a hit post in a playoff game, a close loss that leaves a team 1 point short of the playoffs, a shock retirement leaving a team without a star. The SHL and SMJHL has no shortage of these. In X words or more, describe a moment that permanently changed the course of your team's history.

Graphic option: Show a picture of the moment in question, must have at least one render and something SHL related like a jersey or logo in a good spot idk.

A suggestion for the 3v3's is to also include the "sim dates" in the prompt so that we can more easily look into the number of games each player plays and the match ups. Today we can do that by cross referencing the the index, but that doesn't have real world dates associated with the sim days. It's not a huge deal to count the days away and figure it all out, but if this is something that is already being done by the PT team in preparing the 3v3 then why not include that information in the post as well?

Not really a traditional PT but a suggestion: have users do a mock draft of the real-life NHL first round, similar to what NSFL does for the NFL. It can be for money if a TPE redistribution to make the numbers consistent isn’t possible.

Graders should highlight 3-5 of the best PTs in a weekly media post

Can we update the personal training/equipment information in the Training Camp subforum to reflect the new coaching tiers?

CW/PT Suggestions

Written: Corsi and Fenwick are two advanced stats used to measure shot attempt differentials. Both named after someone. Use your player's last name to create a new kind of advanced stat. What does it measure and how do you measure it?

Written: Injuries have been turned on in FHM. Headlines like "Dick Clapper got hit by a car while an old lady was helping him cross the street" are now a common thing. What's the most likely off-ice reason your player would get injured?
Graphic: Create a newspaper front page with a headline and an image of your player during or post-accident.

A new type of weekly task: Prediction Bingo

Overview
  • PT team provides 10 different predictions for a given game/sim day.
  • Users pick the 5 predictions they think are most likely to come true.
  • 1 TPE for participating. +1 TPE if all 5 chosen predictions come true.

The predictions should be fairly common events. But still not guaranteed. Would need to make sure strategizing(or at least thinking about it for a minute) is helpful when users choose predictions.

Example Predictions
  • Julio Tokolosh scores 1 or more goals
  • Hamilton wins at least 2 games
  • Harry Carpet saves at least 75 shots
  • At least one game is decided by shootout
  • Nat Emerson will block at least 10 shots
  • At least one game will have 12 or more total goals scored

If we want to spice it up we could also add "double or nothing"-predictions. These should be rare, but not impossible. For example, "A player will score a hat trick". If someone chooses the rare prediction and gets all 5 right they get +2 instead of +1 TPE.

The submission verification could be automated similarly to 3on3 and primetime. Map each prediction to a number 0-9 and have users only input five unique numbers in their post. Then verify which predictions came true and what numbers are mapped to them.

Why are milestone numbers for centres so out of whack with what they are for wingers? Been trying to think about possible explanations about why this is the case but with SMJHL milestones it's the opposite (centres need worse numbers than wingers) so it's confusing why a centre needs to be so much better than a winger to get anything in the SHL.

we calculate them objectively with percentage-based cutoffs (it's the same percentile for wingers and centers), so my guess is the distributions just be like that. @Blastmeaway can provide more detail.
