TASK TWO: Pre-Party! Create a drink menu for the arena to sell during the playoff series. Must have four drink specials named after two players each team and have a brief description of each drink! Must be at least 150 words total. If graphic, create a menu that contains four drinks, brief description and price!

TASK THREE: Write a script for the game day preview for Game One of the Finals. Must be at least 150 words.

We welcome you here tonight to the Challenge Cup finals between the Toronto North Stars and the Portland Admirals. This game one is going to be the start of what should turn out to be a long hard fought series. Both of these teams are hungry as neither team has ever won a Challenge Cup!

Can Portland become the first expansion team to hoist the cup? Or will the curse of the North stars finally be lifted as they lift their first ever cup?!

We won't have many answers for you tonight as this is only the first game of the series but we can only imagine that both teams are going to come out flying as they try to set the tone for the rest of the series. One thing that is for sure though, is that by the end of this series, one team and their fan base will be sipping out of their first Challenge Cup!

TASK FOUR: Who is your choice for the S35 Playoff MVP to this point? Must be 150 words.

My vote for S35 playoff MVP would go to none other than former Vancouver Whaler hall of famer, Andrey Barbashev.

Barbashev is second in league playoff scoring at this time (one point behind team mate Kristian Eriksson) but what makes this performance spectacular is that he is scoring this much from the blue line! With 11 points in only 9 games played so far this post season, Barbashev is on fire and his amazing play is definitely a factor in his North Stars making it this far.

Barbashev may not have a Challenge Cup in his trophy case yet, but he is one experienced defender who has already declared, win or lose, that he will be retiring at seasons end. That may be the little extra motivation he needs to elevate his game to the level we have seen since the first puck drop in this post season. If Barbashev keeps playing this way, I don't see any way that they won't be taking home the hardware this year.

TASK FIVE: Media Day once again! Create three questions, one for three different players in the Challenge Cup and tag them! Playing in the Challenge Cup? Feel free to answer questions for your task or ask three of your own!

<a href='index.php?showuser=1485' rel='nofollow' alt='profile link' class='user-tagged mgroup-3'>RaiN</a> You have already stated that you will be retiring and this is your last season playing professional hockey, how important is it for you to go out with a bang and take home your first Challenge Cup?

<a href='index.php?showuser=1663' rel='nofollow' alt='profile link' class='user-tagged mgroup-13'>Winter is Coming</a> When you left Buffalo as a free agent and decided to sign in Toronto, knowing full well about their playoff woes, did you ever expect to be in such a deep cup run this soon into your new contract?

<a href='index.php?showuser=2458' rel='nofollow' alt='profile link' class='user-tagged mgroup-10'>Symmetrik</a> If you and the North Stars end up winning it all, what would your day with the cup look like?

TASK ONE: Decorate your teammates car for the big game! Can be written or graphic. If written, tell us how you plan on "decorating" your teammates ride before leaving for the viewing party and must be 150 words.

Well here in Texas we’re a bit pissed off that we’ve been knocked out in the first round… again. So obviously we need to support Toronto as much as it pains us because Portland shouldn’t be representing our conference. So, we’re going to the game decked out in a bright blue car with stars painted everywhere. We’re also commissioning a portrait of Frederick Douglass to be painted on the hood seeing as he’s the one that made that newspaper thing. There’s also a company called NorthStar that’s from Buffalo where a few of us are from, so we’re getting that painted on the side of the car so we can support both our hometown and our connection to Toronto. And honestly, it’s not even a car… it’s an ATV we’ll be driving. That’s right, the Polaris ATV. We’re going all out. You’ll be able to spot our support from a mile away. Might even see us in the victory parade Wink

TASK TWO: Pre-Party! Create a drink menu for the arena to sell during the playoff series. Must have four drink specials named after two players each team and have a brief description of each drink! Must be at least 150 words total. If graphic, create a menu that contains four drinks, brief description and price!

Drink #1: The Dirty Pedro – A messy cocktail of 1800 tequila and a squeeze of lime and lemon. It’s sure to make your face pucker and get you ready for game time! If you fall asleep while drinking it, we give you a free fun mustache!
Drink #2: The Brick Wahl – Our twist on a redbull and vodka. This drink actually has a skittle at the bottom! It’ll get you amped up, but try to stop your heart all at once. Just don’t choke at the end.
Drink #3: The Malibu Barby – Living in his own paradise, that’s what you get from Anze! Coconut rum, vodka, cranberry and pineapple juice all go together so you can feel like the superstar while walking down the beach.
Drink #4: The KirkStoner – This drink came out of nowhere! It’s our magic drink that magically turns from clear to blue as you drink it. Made with amazing blue Curaçao to support own very own Toronto fans.

TASK THREE: Write a script for the game day preview for Game One of the Finals. Must be at least 150 words.

Game one is going to be a huge one! We’ll see the Portland Admirals take on the Toronto North Stars, and one of these teams is going to be taking home their first ever Challenge Cup! It’s definitely history in the making. Portland is led by Pedro Sarantez up front, who has scored 9 points in the 9 games played. On the back end, Kyle Wahlgren is stealing the show with a .925 save percentage, and a 2.62 goals against average. Toronto is led by Kristian Eriksson who has 12 points in 9 games played, but is somehow a -4. Jeff Kirkstone is in goal, stealing games and hearts with a .912 save percentage, and a 2.74 goals against average. Portland definitely wins out on defense, but Toronto is more of the offensive power house. We’ll see two great teams clash, a battle of great offense versus great defense. Should be a game for the ages!

TASK FOUR: Who is your choice for the S35 Playoff MVP to this point? Must be 150 words.

The definitive MVP for the S35 Playoffs right now should be Kyle Wahlgren. He’s busted his tail to get where he is and he’s doing everything he can to keep pucks out and away from the front of the net. Wahlgren leads the playoffs with a .925 save percentage and a 2.62 goals against average. He’s in close competition with Jeff Kirkstone from the Toronto North Stars, but he’s definitely more valuable to the defensive focused team. He’s faced more shots than anyone, and is finding ways to hold on and keep his team in it. While he has players like Pedro Sarantez and Jacob Renninger to help him up front, he’s not getting the support he needs on offense, but is still making sure his team is winning games. The same team without Wahlgren, is not in the finals, and probably doesn’t make it past the first round. Kyle Wahlgren for MVP.

THE MATCHUP. Lets take a look at the key stats this season:

Winner: [Image: giphy.gif]

This looks like it's going to be a close one! Toronto has a more offensive style. Portland locks er down on defense.

too close to call!

Play the game already!

TASK 4 - MVP TO THIS POINT:
To this point, my choice for Playoff MVP is Andrey Barbashev of the Toronto North Stars. This defenseman is the 3rd highest scorer to this point (2 points below first place) but is the highest of active players still in the cup chase. In the playoffs, you put your best players on the ice, for as long as you can. And that's what they have done. Barbashev has played 30 minutes per game on as the 2nd Defensive pairing, first pairing on the power play and first unit penalty kill.

Barbashev has played 10 games this post season, and has already put up 5 goals and 9 assists for 14 points. That's 1.4 points per game for the wiley veteran. Even though he is playing half the game, he has managed to keep a +3 Rating.

MVP races are about statistical performances, but also how you hold yourself on the ice, and leadership roles. You will be hard pressed to find a better character than Andrey Barbashev on and off the ice.

Shane Gagner and I thought we had the perfect prank before game 7 of the conference finals to give the boys a boost and win us the game. Leading up to the game everyone seemed to be on edge. Guys were making mistakes they shouldn't and were playing as if they were afraid of making a mistake instead of letting their experience and talent guide the way. Gagner and I decided we would prank the parm kind himself, Esa Anrikkanen, in hopes that he would loosen up and the rest of the team would follow. We basically turned his car into a giant chicken parm sandwich. We have custom giant bread made to go under and on top of the car, we covered the entire thing in tomato sauce, chicken, provolone, parmesan, and even sprinkled some basil on it. When the Esa showed up we weren't sure how he would react. Was he going to laugh? be upset? we really had no idea. He stared at the car and as soon as he realized what it was he ran faster than I've ever seen him move straight to the car and started eating at much of it as he could! He was ripping pieces of bread off and covering them in tomato sauce, shoving chicken and cheese on it and stuffing his face! The team saw the whole thing go down and were killing themselves laughing. Unfortunately our idea didn't win us the game and Portland ended up going to the finals, but in the end it was a hilarious experience I will never forget.

Portland Admiarls vs Calgary Dragons Drink Menu

Randy Randleman's Special Margarita - Tequila. Cuantro. Lime Juice. Ice. Kosher Salt. [Image: giphy.gif]

Esa's Chicken Parm Suprise Shot - Esa wont tell whats in this, but somehow it tastes like a chicken parm and gets you drunk!

Lundberg's Sex on the Beach - It goes down easy, just like Lundberg on the ice.

Jackson Cartier's French Canadian Cocktail - Cognac, Cucumber, Gin, Maple Syrup, and Lemon Juice.

Each drink was chosen by SHL superstars who are playing in this Western Conference finals series. Some were bigger hits than others with the fans as people were slightly scared to try a shot that tastes like a chicken parm. The Randleman Margarita and Lundberg Sex on the Beach were the two biggest hits among the people. Esa Anrikkanen made a point to ensure each and every one of his teammates tried his special chicken parm shot the day before the game. Bubba Nuck loved it and promptly ordered more while Hunter Wong puked his up right away.

TASK FOUR: Who is your choice for the S35 Playoff MVP to this point? Must be 150 words.
Although I dont think the Toronto North Stars will win the cup my choice for S35 Playoff MVP up to this point is Andrey Barbashev. in 10 games Barbashev has 5 goals and 9 assists for 14 points so far in the playoffs. He has also managed a +3 +/- and has an astounding 24 shots blocked. He also has not taken any penalties during the playoffs and boats a great 21.74% shooting percentage. If the North Stars want a shot at winning the cup they need Andrey Barbashev to continue playing at a high level and leading the team on the score sheet. If the Portland Admirals are able to contain Barbashev then Toronto will be in trouble and will need to hope Kristian Eriksson and Chris York can pick up the slack. Barbashev is on fire right now though and I dont know what the Portland Admirals will be able to do to stop him, they may have to simply hope to contain him.

TASK ONE: Decorate your teammates car for the big game! Can be written or graphic. If written, tell us how you plan on "decorating" your teammates ride before leaving for the viewing party and must be 150 words.

Yuriy Starkonov will decorate <a href='index.php?showuser=5' rel='nofollow' alt='profile link' class='user-tagged mgroup-66'>sarmo</a>'s Porsche 911 with vinyl stickers of Samee Iqbal's face and Portland Admirals team gear. Yuriy will even put several Samee Iqbal bobbleheads on the dashboard of the Porsche and will drape Iqbal jerseys on both seats in the car. As a kicker, Starkonov will attempt to upload the Iqbal press conference about the trade request to the Porsche's navigation software since sarmo is sure to not check that part of the car after he's gotten rid of all the other stuff.

Because the Chiefs' viewing party starts at 5pm, Starkonov will have to sneak onto sarmo's property during the player's afternoon nap. He might need some help so Starkonov is planning on asking Lochlann O'Rourke to help decorate the car in time. Starkonov knows all about the drama behind the trade that was requested by Samee Iqbal and even though Yuriy doesn't know the details, he knows that this will cause a lot of (hopefully) harmless drama during this post season.

TASK FOUR: Who is your choice for the S35 Playoff MVP to this point? Must be 150 words.

Normally, when I select MVPs I don't only look at total points but I look at context, such as G:A ratio and special teams production. This often means that I may end up voting for someone that's in the top 5 (as opposed to the points leader). However, Kristian Eriksson of Toronto seems to be the best pick for MVP, being not only a points leader but a perfectly balanced G:A ratio as well as a strong contribution on the PP. He doesn't have any PK points but those are much, much harder to come by and not expected anyway. He's also not afraid to take the body which undoubtedly helps his team regain puck possession, but despite this is a clean player (only with 1 penalty the entire playoffs). Despite his -3 rating, Eriksson is the best pick for MVP up until this point (and probably for the playoffs in general).

TASK FIVE: Media Day once again! Create three questions, one for three different players in the Challenge Cup and tag them! Playing in the Challenge Cup? Feel free to answer questions for your task or ask three of your own!

<a href='index.php?showuser=2397' rel='nofollow' alt='profile link' class='user-tagged mgroup-3'>Samee</a>: Do you think you're happier on the Admirals than you were on the Chiefs? Would you say you're more productive because of the change?

<a href='index.php?showuser=2476' rel='nofollow' alt='profile link' class='user-tagged mgroup-17'>ThePandava</a>: What's it like to make the Challenge Cup Finals in your rookie season?

<a href='index.php?showuser=1627' rel='nofollow' alt='profile link' class='user-tagged mgroup-3'>tweedlebrumm</a>: Were you disappointed or surprised by the trade from Seattle to Portland? Of course, now you're going to be happier that you're competing in the finals, but did you think you would have made it to this point when the trade was announced?

TASK SIX: Create a SHL Challenge Cup viewing party invitation! Must include a list of 3 special guest appearances for your fans and a list of 4 events being held at the viewing party (i.e. Poker Tournament, Bean Bag Tournament, etc.)

For rookie <a href='index.php?showuser=72' rel='nofollow' alt='profile link' class='user-tagged mgroup-17'>fever95</a> , his little tiny Prius was decorated with dildo's. Yes you read that right we put dildo's all over poor Artom Zhumbayev's car before we went to the viewing party held in down town Winnipeg. I was quite amazing as we ran out of dildo's before the car was filled so about Seventy percent of his car was covered but it was still funny nonetheless. It look 133 dildo's to cover some of his car. However, it was a great prank bro.

This wasn't the first time this had happened. When Lukas Berger first moved to Winnipeg, Lauris Prikulis did the same thing to me. He said it was a tradition between Winnipeg goaltenders to do this to the guy they know will take their place as the future number one goaltender. It was nice to know Prik thought this highly of me and now I think this highly of Artom. I hope he has a great career like myself in Winnipeg.

Task 2:
The Luke Fleming drink is a drink that will fuck you up. It is a mixture of 1 1/2 oz Smirnoff Ice, 1 1/2 oz DeKuyper Peachtree Schnapps 1 dash triple sec and 2/3 oarts orange juice. It is also known as a Fuzzy Nipple because Fleming is hairy. Another good drink is called the Berger Special. It is a nice simple drink which is 1 oz Crown Royale Green Apple and the rest of the cup is filled with Canada Dry Ginger Ale. It is so smooth and honestly tastes like apple juice. The last one drink I would like to talk about it the Zach Evans. This is a nice simple pitcher of Budweiser Prohibition Brew which we all know is 0% alcohol. Evans isn't old enough to drink yet so we like to tease him about his age by naming this drink after him.

Chris Crutchfield drives a big as Escalade, which suits his big play on the ice (I guess), he has that thing trimmed with all the high end chrome and gadgets, so its always fun to play with guys that are into their cars and since we got eliminated by the Portland Admirals I know it would get under his skin if we dressed up his baby like a Admiral loving wagon, so that’s what I would do.

First I would get the car painted pink, that would piss him off, just because it a less masculine color, then I would put the Portland emblem on his hood, then we would change the horn, when pressed to scream “Go Portland”, his rims would have the Portland emblem as well, or Wally’s face, I’m not sure which yet…but I am leaning towards Wally’s face. Finally, we would put on both doors, “0 Days since Wally made a Trade”.

Of course, I would need to make sure I had a clean get away before he saw the vehicle, because…well, I like my face in its current condition Smile

Drink Menu:

1 - The “All in Andrey” for Andrey Barbashev – This shot is to showcase his dominance on both ends of the ice we have some goldschlager to show he deserves a medal, with Russian Standard Vodka to show is ice cold nerves and is Nationality and finally Ouzo for that black licorice taste to show his dogged determination and give you that kick in the ass when downing the shot.

2 – The “King Kristian” for Kristian Ericksson – This shot is pure offence, like Kristian is on the ice. It combines Jack Daniels Number 27 Gold, with Yukon Jack, lit on fire to showcase he will burn you many ways….just like this shot will.

3 – The “Pedro Pusher” for Pedro Sarantez – This drink is classy, elegant and smooth, much like the player, with rum, fruit juice, peach schnapps and a pint of cinnamon.

4 – The “New New Yorker” for Chris York – This shot is raw and will blow your mind if your not careful, just like the Portland rookie. It contains Absinthe, Casa Noble Tequila, hot peppers and Cinnamon.

All Drinks are only available while the S35 SHL Finals are going on, as a very affordable $20.00.

TASK THREE: Write a script for the game day preview for Game One of the Finals. Must be at least 150 words.

(Backdrop is to the ZNN Sport Center, with Kate and Coby as the camera pans into Coby)

So here we are, after a grueling 50 game season and 2 rounds of playoffs we have our two combatants trying to reach for ultimate glory…..for the first time in their franchises history…that’s right folks, one of these two teams who has never won the SHL Championship will reign as the SHL’s best.

On one hand, representing the West you have the Portland Admirals who were in the SHL Finals last year, eventually losing to the Manhattan Rage…but they are back, more experienced, more hungry and looking to put Portland on the map.

For the East, you have the perennial underdogs, who have never been able to win the Cup in their teams long history…however, this season they are looking to change that and have embraced the David versus Goliath storyline, as the underdog in this series.

What do you think of this series Kate?

(Camera 2 – On Kate)

Toronto bring significant more offensive firepower to the table, however Portland has overcome teams like Los Angeles and Calgary who also brought more goal scoring, shutting them down with their stingy defensive play, so I truly don’t see much changing, as Toronto is just not defensively solid enough to run with Portland in a tight series.

I go Portland in 6 or 7 games.

(Camera 1 – on Koby)

Thanks Kate, there you have it folks, now lets get to the game and really see what happens…

TASK FOUR: Who is your choice for the S35 Playoff MVP to this point? Must be 150 words.

S35 SHL Playoff MVP - Andrey Barbashev (TOR)

When you look at the MVP award, it should go to the player that makes the most impact on that respective team and I have no choice but to say Andrey Barbashev from Toronto.

Firstly, he is playing 30 minutes a night, which for those that have played playoff hockey, like myself, that is a huge toll to take on and play a high level. Secondly he has 14 points in 10 game, as a defenceman, 4 points from the power play and 5 goals with 9 helpers……I don’t need to say anymore there. Thirdly he is a solid +3 player, with 24 shot blocks, you compare that to a fellow Toronto player, the second highest point producer on the team, Kristian Eriksson, who is a -4.

It just proves this guy does it all and is a lynchpin for the team, making you wonder, if he was out of the line up would Toronto be where they are right now?

My answer is doubtful….that’s what makes him my S35 Playoff MVP.

Task One:
The easiest guy on the team to pick on is Jasper Clayton, his car doesn’t help his cause by any means. Every year it seems we will always find a way to mess with his amazingly small mini cooper, I mean of course he drives that, what a real brit he is, anyway, last year we got the car re-painted when he took it into the shop, it came out with a nice American flag them that he did not like what so ever, surprised none of us got traded. Let’s skip to this year car fiasco, we decided to fill as many mugs with tea as we could fit on the roof, good luck driving anywhere or even taking them off carefully, and filled the inside of the car with hundreds on crumpets, which aren’t that good. After he is done removing everything, I think we owe him a nice detail to actually clean all the tea and crumpets off.

Task Three:
Welcome to the SHL finals where 8 teams from two different conferences will battle it out over the coming weeks for the crown of Challenge Cup Champions.
The long drawn out regular season has finally come to close, much like we all expected, New England and Calgary looking to be once again the top teams as favourites to take yet another cup home.
We will now shift our focus into the Buffalo, New England series, which to an untrained eye looks to be as open and close as you can get, the only bets on Buffalo right now, are Buffalo fans.
New England once again wrapped up the East with a cool 64 points, while Buffalo slid into the playoffs posting just a single point over Manhattan to clinch the last playoff berth and the chance to beat up on the Wolfpack.
Buffalo has a much improved offence over the last few seasons, and that could be what they need to turn this team into a Cup contender, New England better not take this team lightly.

Task Four:
Picking an MVP is always a tough choice in this game because a team wins you this opportunity, not just one player, and Toronto has shown us this this playoff.

Your first two easy ballots would be Eriksson and Barbashev, both are averaging over a point per game for Toronto, and have led this team to what they hope is a much needed Challenge Cup, but we are forgetting the real hero here, Jeff Kirkstone.

With a 7-1-1 record, .912 save percentage, and 2.74 goals against average, Kirkstone is the real back bone to this high powered Toronto offence.

Not to mention that Kyle Wahlgren gets an honourable mention in all this and what he has done for Portland, Kirkstone has been the quiet leader behind the cage that every team needs to succeed in the SHL, and deserves this honour when Toronto is crowned Challenge Cup Champions this season.

TASK ONE:
Alright, so I decided that if I even tried to mess up any of the veterans' cars, I'd have little to no chance in seeing the puck next season, so I decided to pick on the retiring Vesa Perhonen, because he's retiring waaaaaay too early, and needs a nice parting gift.

First thing was to find a couple of guys from my junior team to help me out. Luckily, Louie Garrett and Joseph Lombardi were totally cool with me doing this, so they helped me cut his tires. Why did we do that? No clue, maybe we wanted him to buy something else than a Pinto. Anyways, the next thing we did was paint his car - including the windows - pink. Pink is Perhonen's least favorite colour, so we really wanted to piss him off. Once the paint dried, we just used blue spray paint and wrote down 'I <3 TOR' all over. Like, different handwriting, too. We tried printed, cursive, that wierd hieroglyphic thing that the Chinese do, everything!

Finally, we glued on red roses onto the hood of his car, and filled the inside of his car with movie theatre popcorn, you know, as a parting gift. That way, he can come to his next destination really ready for the Challenge Cup, rooting for Toronto. Hope he loves how I decorated the roses.

(Pssst. The decoration of the roses look like a penis...)

TASK THREE:
A time-lapse landscape of Downtown Toronto shows up on the screen.
ANNOUNCER: The Toronto North Stars... now have their chance to end the thirty-five season drought. They have beat the Wolfpack in their home ice, can they finish off their Cinderella Story?
A time lapse of Portland's Arena is then cut in.
ANNOUNCER: The Portland Admirals now have a date with destiny. They have beat the Regular Season favorites in the Panthers, they have beat the dynasty of the Dragons. They now advance to their FIRST Challenge Cup Finals!
Jump cuts of North Stars highlights
The North Stars have been here since the beginning. They've been to two Challenge Cup finals before, in Seasons 16 and 17, but falling short each time. They have a chance to avenge themselves again, with the team doing the unthinkable - beating the juggernauts of the Eastern Conference, who might have breathed their last breath, in the New England Wolfpack. Nobody expected them to go this far.
Jump cuts of Admiral highlights from the Conference Finals
The Portland Admirals were once known as the bottom feeders of the SHL, now risen from the ashes of 'Expansion Hell'. Many teams expected them to finish strong, but never expected them to have a date with their own 'destiny'.
Two Teams with the same story, striving, wanting, desiring for their names to be written on the elusive Challenge Cup. Will the long, grueling wait be over for hockey's city, or will there be history written by the latest expansion team in the SHL. Game One comes NEXT!

TASK FOUR:

Of course, when talking about the Playoff MVP, you can't just go and choose one player on one team. I always like to call MVP's for both participants of the Challenge Cup Finals. With that being said, I see Kyle Wahlgren and Damien Wert being MVP's for both sides. In the case for Wahlgren, he's led all goalies in the playoffs in terms of save percentage (.918), minutes played (1179), shots faced (679), and overall wins (11). It's very difficult to say that Wahlgren isn't the reason why Portland made it to the Challenge Cup finals with his incredible performance. Going to Wert, it can be easily said that Kristian Eriksson also belongs in the same voice, but Wert seemed to be the more consistent player of the two. Though they both have 20 points in the playoffs, but Wert is 2nd in plus/minus rating (+11), which gives me the nod ahead of Eriksson. If you're there when your team scores a goal, you gotta be doing something good to make it happen.

TASK ONE: Decorate your teammates car for the big game! Can be written or graphic. If written, tell us how you plan on "decorating" your teammates ride before leaving for the viewing party and must be 150 words.

Two Hamilton Steelhawks – Luke Atmey and Kyle Kylrad are taking a road trip to Toronto to watch the challenge cup finals! They are decorating Kylrad’s car to look like a pirate ship to show their support for the Portland Admirals. They can’t have their rival Toronto North Stars winning of course. The Pirate ship is painted black and yellow and has a huge anchor drawn on the back of the car. Through the sun roof is a flag sticking out with the Admirals logo on it. The windows are rolled down and fake cannons are sticking out of them ready to shoot anyone on the highway. Blasting on the speakers is traditional pirate music from Pirates of the Caribbean since the two boys are too young to know what real music sounds like. Lastly written on the front of the car in big golden letters is Admirals for the S35 Cup!

TASK THREE: Write a script for the game day preview for Game One of the Finals. Must be at least 150 words.

This Friday July 28, 2017 be sure to tune in for Game 1 of the S35 Challenge Cup Finals between the Portland Admirals and the Toronto North Stars! One team will win their first ever championship who will it be? The North Stars have never won despite a long history in the league. Their fans have remained loyal and have been waiting for this moment. There teams looks as good as ever and plays an offensive and physical style! On the other side are the Portland Admirals! The new kids on the block who are abrasive and like to make trades every second. They have done a great job as an expansion team, but do they have what it takes to win with their young team? They have beat the best the west has to offer but can they take the heat in the city of Toronto? You do not want to miss a second of this action!

TASK FOUR: Who is your choice for the S35 Playoff MVP to this point? Must be 150 words.

Heading into the finals, I think Andrey Barbashev has solidified himself as this season’s playoff MVP! Barbashev has had a very impressive playoff campaign thus far. As a defenseman, he leads his team in points with 14 points in 10 games. 5 of these have been goals which is second on the team (one behind Kristian Eriksson’s 6). The other 9 are assists which once again is second best on the team (one behind Cynthia Taylor’s 10). Barbashev also is second on his team in shot blocks and has been playing over 30 minutes per game shutting down the opponent’s top scorers! Another impressive stat is that he has not taken a single penalty during the first two rounds of the playoffs. As Toronto rely heavily on him, he can’t afford to be in the penalty box as he is also one of the team’s key penalty killers. Overll if Barbashev can continue his impressive play in the finals, he should be a lock for Playoff MVP.

TASK FIVE: Media Day once again! Create three questions, one for three different players in the Challenge Cup and tag them! Playing in the Challenge Cup? Feel free to answer questions for your task or ask three of your own!

<a href='index.php?showuser=328' rel='nofollow' alt='profile link' class='user-tagged mgroup-3'>JNH</a>: You are finally so close to winning a cup in Toronto, something you have been trying to do for many seasons. How do you feel about being so close and are you even still around here?

<a href='index.php?showuser=32' rel='nofollow' alt='profile link' class='user-tagged mgroup-3'>GroupMeIsKindOfOkay</a>: Your past play Chris Partlow was an absolute beast and one of my favourite players of all time. Do you think Reed Laing will be better?

<a href='index.php?showuser=622' rel='nofollow' alt='profile link' class='user-tagged mgroup-3'>Keenan</a>: Omg Keenan you are on the Admirals, I did not know! Do you think you could ever return to the activity you once had and pump out amazing articles?

TASK ONE:

After finally being called up tot he New England Wolfpack I have yet to hit the ice, and unfortunately we have not made it to the finals, and while we are dissapointed, we will still be watching the finals altogether, cheering fort he Toronto North Stars to finally win their first title. If it’s not us, let’s at least keep it in the conference. It’s a tradition that the rookies decorate the cars of the veterans, and what is better then to give Nathan Russell one final farewell present. So I went to Jasper Clayton’s house and stole his private collection of Rainbow Dash merchandise. After trying to glue it all the Russells car, I found out it doesn’t stick at high speed. So it was time to visit West Coast Customs and ask for a paint job. I have no idea if Russell likes the design we gave him, but I’m sure Jasper is calling shotgun when we leave to the viewing party

[Image: rainbow_dash_nascar___front_by_framwinkle-d3hlzy0.jpg]

TASK TWO:
The Chris York: If you are not looking to score, grab this drink. It’s basically pure alcohol and you will be knocked out in a minute. No way you will score tonight, just as Chris York!
The Big Z: looking to impress your friends, order a Big Z for every one of them and see who can finish it fasts. The Big Z is a cocktail in a boot shaped glass, having a mix of vodka, whiskey and beer. We never said it tastes good, but if you finish it first, you can be the big hero!

The Chernika Banananov: The drink for someone who want’s something special this banana flavoured milkshake with gin and cranberry juice might sound weird, but it will be definitely the best thing you have ever tasted.
The I Am Not Allowed to Drink Yet Samee Special: This soda without caffeine is great for all the kids you will bring, it’s not even a real soda it’s just powder lemonade, but it’s all Samee is allowed to handle.

TASK THREE:
The SHL will finally have a new champion. After years of domination by the Calgary Dragons and the New England Wolfpack, expansion team Portland Admirals and original franchise Toronto North Stars are facing off to compete for their first cup. In Portland they are already being optimistic, they believe in the cursed status of the North Stars, as they have went without a cup for 35 seasons this far. In Toronto on the other hand they see in Portland an excellent victim to transfer their curse to. Which team will end up with the curse in this series? If I would be betting, I would put my money on the North Stars, with five players on a point per game or higher, compared to just one on the side of the Admirals, they seem in a real ‘win now’ mode. One player to watch this series is backup goalie Mark Harter, who moved back from Portland to Toronto this season. It will be interesting to see if he made the right choice by wanting to go back to the franchise where his legacy lies.

TASK FIVE

Chris York – In your rookie season you reached the finals. Do you believe you are the savior of the franchise? Will you be the one that breaks the curse, or do you think you will fail just like with the Firebirds? ( <a href='index.php?showuser=2458' rel='nofollow' alt='profile link' class='user-tagged mgroup-10'>Symmetrik</a> )

Mark Harter – How do you feel to be in the final between two teams you defended the net for, and have to watch from the sides as a backup. Do you feel you should be up there for either of the teams? ( <a href='index.php?showuser=781' rel='nofollow' alt='profile link' class='user-tagged mgroup-3'>Mark</a> H )

Cynthia Taylor – After beating Patrikov Bure in the conference finals, did he sleep on the couch again? ( <a href='index.php?showuser=1833' rel='nofollow' alt='profile link' class='user-tagged mgroup-13'>Cynthia</a> )
