Back to the minors.
#1

Would there be anyone else who would be interested in having their player return to the SMJHL at the end of their career once regression has hit?

I was thinking about this as I pooped.

What if after we regressed, we could choose to go back to the original team that drafted us for a single season?

I don't know how to actually make this work, but something similar is being done in the GOMHL where a player can spend 1 last season in the league and have a new player at the same time. They can't do anything with the old player and can only earn TPE for the new one.

So, maybe allow people to have a 275 TPE build and spend 1 last season in the minors. I say 275 because if it were 350 I think people would just stack their lines with 350 players and you'd see a lot of double shifting in the minors over using new players in the top positions.

This would make the minors a little more interesting as we can see some of the best return to the minors and play along side young players, specifically new members.

Just some poopin thoughts.

You can retire your player and create a new one in the SMJHL... that's more similar to what you describe in the GOMHL.

I, absolutely, 100% want this. I came really close to the Four Star cup with Owen, losing in the finals in S29. I want another crack or two at it, I don't want to move onto another player before I get one more chance.

It's juniors, not the minors. So no.

Also, I know this isn't "real life" but you don't see former NHL players going back to the O or the Q after their pro careers are over.

Why not, though? Aside from "you don't see NHL players doing it".

Ya, no player has ever aged out of the NHL and then ended up in a different league. I didn't think of the SMJHL on that level, in my mind I saw it like the AHL to the NHL.
