would be a cool idea but idk how much i like the idea of having some old fart getting playing time over a new player, especially a first gen
well i highly doubt alot of players will manage to even reach 350 in regression before getting bored and retiring.... it shouldnt be a huge problem

This would make sense if we had a minor league, but we don't. We have Major Juniors.

I saw it like the AHL to the NHL.[/quote]
I always thought of the SMJHL as the AHL as well. Just like the NHL>AHL the SMJHL>SHL have players who can go back and forth between leagues on a call up (for less than 6 games, per the SMJHL rule books).

Come to think of it, players go from the juniors to the NHL and back in real life, don't they? Like Strome being sent from AZ back to the OHL? I get that it's not an "old" player, but the transition still happens in reality.

I guess ultimately, I think it'd be fun, and I'd do it. I don't think most people would, though. Should we disallow something just because most people wouldn't do it anyway? If the answer is yes, then fine.

If we ignored the fact that SMJHL is a Major-Junior league, I like the idea of older players making a run in the SMJHL for a season, but the problem would be, you can't have more than 1 active player in either league, so if anyone were to do this, they wouldn't get that extra year with their old player.

That seems totally fair.

I don't see it as an option ONLY if you regress to 350. Maybe you regress to 550 and just want to hang it up, or your team isn't going to resign you. It would be no different than being a new player at 550 tpe but capped at 350.

I think the fact that you only have two or three cracks at the Four Star Cup makes it a little more special as far as the juniors go, being a unique part of the career of a player. I wanted one badly on Windsor, and never got one, but going back now would be a little silly, even if my guys TPE is low enough.

I think it makes the most sense the way it is. If anything, players should he averaging less junior seasons in their career, not more.

Another example. Max Talbot played a lot in the Nhl, then as he got older, he went to the AHL
