I find it funny but also think this will make them a far tougher side. They'll definitely get results in qualification and I think they ought to do well in a tournament under him. He's excellent at making a side difficult to score against.

So this happened tonight! Dundalk are one round away from making history, and becoming the first Irish team to qualify for the group stages of the Champion's League! Do I think they can do it? No, but then I didn't think they'd get past BATE either. By doing so they have secured at least a place in the group stages of the Europa League, and the word on the street is that they'll net a cool €5.5m as well. That's a huge amount in Irish football; the League of Ireland Premier League champions only get €110k.

I'm not a Dundalk fan, but I'll be supporting the hell out of them in their European endeavours. Keep an eye out for them in either the Champions League or the Europa League.

Historic moment. Dundalk earned 10k more for that draw than they did for winning the fucking league. I doubt it'll convince the FAI to invest in the league instead of lining their own pockets, but that only makes the result more remarkable. You won't find me saying this every week, but gwan the Lily Whites!
