What Just Happened?! It's a Bird, It's a Plane...
#1

October 3rd, 2017 will be the day the SHL will never, EVER forget. The reason being, legendary defencemen (okay, that might be pushing it) Chris "Slick" Fekete was seen leaving the streets of Vancouver, BC after spending the day downtown visiting a local hospital and playing some street hockey with underprivileged kids. Chris signed 12 hockey sticks and took the time to interact with hockey fans, although 8/12 kids were Canucks fans, that still didn't bother him.

Quote:I just wanted to give back to the community and tell these kids to keep on fighting and stay strong. It was an amazing day that I will never forget.

On a side note, it doesn't seem like Chris will be returning to the SHL rinks anytime soon, he is however interested in an off-ice role whether it's working for the league or working for a fellow GM, there are endless opportunities. Regardless of what transpires, Chris is back and is looking to make his mark one way or another.

It's already difficult to get a GM or co-GM job even if you have an actively updated player. Good luck getting one of those jobs without any sort of player

Chris should mentor some poor child from the hospital to his dream of playing in the SHL.

I thought people only hired Co-GM's to get their players on their team.

There's always a 1st for everything. I remember being GM for Team World IIHF. Best experience ever!
