Kelowna win one-sided game, Jay Bae saves 34 shots for the shutout.
Wednesday night we got to see these two teams face off yet again. The Scarecrows and the Knights are both teams in the lower part of the standings, though Kelowna is for sure the underdog, as they together with Vancouver has been dead last the entire season. Despite this Kelowna won their first game of the season with a whooping 5-1. Was St Louis hungry for revenge? Well, the answer is certainly yes.
Before the first faceoff, we could see Svatoslav Bodnar and Sebastian Costa have a little talk, as they tried to fire their respective teams up with the potential fight, but it cooled down and the game could start.
The first period would be a tight one, Both teams would get a power play and both teams would end up with the same amount of shots. Not the same amount of goals though, as Janis Døro would send a sick cross crease pass to Sigurd Hansen, who would take this opportunity to score his first goal of the season, as well as his SMJHL career! The young rookie who's known for his passing skills, not his scoring. Secondary assist do Nour Harrak. Goal was scored at 6:56.
The second period would not give us much more than a powerplay by the Scarecrows as Durh Hur got a 2 minute minor for Roughing. Other than that not much happened. Just Scarecrows trying to find a hole on Jay. Shots were 9-4 St Louis.
The third period would be a one sided story, as St Louis went into desperation mode. It all started with a power play as Christian Petersen got called for hooking after only 14 seconds, so they got a dream start to start the comeback. They shot aand they shot and they shot. This period could pretty much be summed up with this song by Lil Jon and LMFAO.
St Louis didnt manage to score though, and the period ended, along with the game. Scarecrows shot 18(! shots in the last period, while Kelowna did everything to defend and only got 2 shots off. The Scarecrows really did their best but the beast that is Jay Bae shut them down time and time again. Kelowna certainly wanted to show that they are not a punching bag this season, even if the standings might make you think so.
Sigurd signed his first contract in September this year with the SMJHL and was drafted by the Knights. He's the rookie of the match for his spectacular goal at 6:56 with the assistance of Janis Døro and Nour Harrak.
During this play, it was a massive offensive that the Knights gave to the Scarecrows. After a series of 7 passes to keep the control, Janis Doro missed the net with an intimidating slap shot. Fast as a bullet, Sigurd went beyond to retrieve the puck and score the winning and only goal of the game. With his really strong defensive style for a rookie, Sigurd is master of zone control and a great opportunist. Good luck in your future matches.

Jay Bae, G
It seems that with every Knights game, Jay Bae is the player of the game. And with good reason, as the Knights goaltender absolutely stole this one from the St. Louis Scarecrows. Despite being outshot close to a 3:1 ratio, Bae was perfect as she saved 34 huge shots from the Scarecrows side. Really incredible stuff as the Knights did not deserve to win this game. Phenomenal goaltending performance, no doubt about it.
