TASK ONE: Pick either of the teams currently in the finals. Which game of theirs in the playoffs was the most important/crucial in them getting to this point this season? The Winnipeg Jets made it out of the first round easily. Sweeping the Texas Renegades. They found themselves in a hard fought battle in the second round against the Seattle Riot. The series would eventually end up being tied 3-3. Which led to a game 7 in seattle. I belive this game was the most crucial game for the Jets this season. Mid way through the 2nd period. The Seattle Riot were able to score 2 goals quickly back to back. This gave the Riot a 3-2 lead. Late in the 2nd, the Jets were able to work some magic. The Visser, Bearss, McZ line was able to score 2 goals in 1 minute. With Bearss burrying both of them. Then just 22 seconds after that. Zach Evans was able to score his 6th goal in these playoffs. In the final 2 minutes of the second, the Jets scored 3 goals. Giving them a 5-3 lead that they were able to put away. This game was huge for the Jets. Giving them a date in the Challenge Cup Finals.

TASK TWO: Who is your choice for the unsung hero of the S37 playoffs up to this point? Must be at least 150 words and include at least two statistics in support.
My unsung hero of the S37 playoffs would have to be Winnipeg Jets defenseman Alek Koivu. Koivu is not the first player you think of when you are talking about the Jets. But he had a really solid playoffs run for his team. Koivu plays on the 3rd pairing for the Jets. He was only playing ablout 14 minutes per game but he was able to put up some solid numbers. Through his 18 playof games he scored 2 goals and 9 assists. Good enough for 11 points. Finished as the 4th highest +/- on his team. He was a + 16. If you compaer his playoff numbers to his regular season numbers, he had a huge jump in production. In his 50 regular season games he had 2 goals and 19 points and finished the regular seson as a +10. So he stepped up huge in the playoffs and that is why hes my unsung hero.

I am writing this after the series has already finished but I always thought that the Jets were the favourites. I predicted them to win the challenge cup. It ended up being a real close series in the end, much closer than I thought it was going to be. With the Jets taking home the challenge cup in game 7. The Jets two lines that they run are extremely strong. Most of the players are over 1300 tpe. And those two lines just put up some ridiculous numbers. I thought they would overpower the North Stars defense to give them the win in the series. They also have a really strong defense with Weber and Manius leading them. Toronto has a really solid team too. The Jets scored a lot more goales per game than Toronto. They also have a way better power play. 23.08% to 13.04%. I think thats what gave the Jets the edge in this series.
