Ti-Guy Emond is the eldest son of former Québec Aces forward Guyslain Emond. His dad was a superstar in the LNH, he ended up in the top 10 scorers in league history. He was 38 years old when he played his last season. The league was struggling financially and ended up getting bought out by their rival, the SHL. There were only a few teams that ended up merging with the SHL, Quebec was not one of them. This decision and the fact Guyslain was viewed as too old pretty much forced him into retirement.

Five years later, Guyslain, his wife Berte and their two children Ti-Guy and Guylian still reside in Québec City. Ti-Guy is now 10 years old. Hockey is Canada's number one sport and a lot of kids from coast to coast are dreaming one day to play in the SHL. But for Ti-Guy, it is almost something he needs to achieve. He's still only a Atom player and some local articles are already been written about him. After all, he's the son of a prolific player, a living legend in the whole province. The older he will get and more and more people are gonna wonder if he could become one day be as good of a forward as his father. It's a lot of pressure to put on a young kid, but it wasn't something that worry Ti-Guy too much. He loves hockey and would also to be one day be as good as his dad.

Guyslain has supervised Ti-Guy's training since he was 7. Most people would assume Guyslain is living the perfect life. He retired before 40, he’s set for life and now has all the free time in the world to do whatever he wants. But the reality was the complete opposite, he never felt this sad. His only moments of happiness are when he's practicing with Ti-Guy. Guyslain's whole life was hockey. He doesn't even have a high school diploma, all his energy and focus as a teenager were spent in the gym and the ice. He doesn't have any friends beside some ex-teammates and no other hobbies. He's recently been drinking more and more to make time fly faster and feel less miserable. His wife Berte knows about his drinking problem but she is too afraid to confront him about it. Their relationship is quite rocky and it's only going worse. They both know it secretly, Ti-Guy and Guylian are the only reason they’re still together.

Ti-Guy is now 13 years old and playing forward for the Beauceron Mustang Peewee AAA. Ti-Guy was always one of the biggest and tallest guys of his age level. He was able to use his size advantage to dominate his Novice and Atom years. But for the first time in his young career, Ti-Guy has been struggling. The d-men he used to beat so easily are now able to keep up with him. He gets pokecheck quite easily and can't find the back of the net. Guyslain is getting more and more impatient with him, he's making him practice long hours after school. He’s also more and more verbally agressive. He's embarassed how his son has been playing lately. It's also obvious Guyslain's drinking problems isn't helping his behavior at all. Berte often has to intervene and remind her husband Ti-Guy is just a kid and not be so hard on him. Guyslain just refuses to listen to him. In his mind, he has invested too much time to watch his son fail. He’s set in making his son an SHL player and he would achieve it no matter what. But for the first time ever, Ti-Guy isn't enjoying hockey anymore and is starting to wonder why is he still playing.

The International Québec Peewee Tournament is about to start. The best teams from all around the world play there. The Mustangs are up to a good start. They’ve won their first 3 games and are now qualified for the semi-finals. Ti-Guy hasn’t look so great, getting only 1 assist. His confidence is at an all time low and his dad reminding him time and time again to do better doesn’t help it. 2 hours before his son’s game, Guyslain is sitting in the stands absolutely furious. He's been watching other teams while drinking and can't help but realise there are so many better forwards than Ti-Guy. He just keep on drinking and is soon totally wasted. The Mustangs game is now starting. Ti-Guy's first shift ended up with him falling on his ass while trying to dangle a d-man. Guyslain is absolutely losing it and everyone in the arena can hear him curse at his son. Ti-Guy is getting back on the bench and his dad is still going at it. Ti-Guy is crying, just for that moment he wish nothing more than to disapear. His coach is trying his best to confort him. A security guard came over to expulse Guyslain out of the arena. Ti-Guy kept playing poorly and The Mustangs ended up losing. Ti-Guy knew it would be a long ride home and took as long as he could in the dressing room. The coach offered him a lift but he knows it would only make things worst. He has to face his dad so better be done with it. Guyslain was waiting near the car and didnt say a single word until they got in. It remained silent for a while up until Ti-Guy was the first one to say anything. He told his dad it was his last game, he's done with hockey. Guyslain immediately hit the brakes and pull over. What his son just told him made him lose it completely. He ordered Ti-Guy to get out, that he doesn't consider him as his son anymore. Ti-Guy was shocked but got off the car without adding anything. Ti-Guy had to walk an hour to get home. When he did, his dad’s car wasn’t there. His mom couldn’t understand what was going on and once Ti-Guy told the whole story, that was it for her. She started packing up things. She called her parents to get them, she will be divorcing Guyslain.

Ti-Guy is now 16 years old, living with his mom and brother in a small town named Rivière-du-Loup. Ti-Guy hasn't played in a league for 2 years but after playing with some friends in the outrink ice he was starting to miss the competition. He tried out for the Midget AA team. After a few days, the head coach wanted to meet him. The first cuts were going on and he thought it was the reason he was asked. He didn’t do particularly really well. The coach greets him and announce him he made the team, as a defenseman. At first, he thought the coach was joking. He has never played that position in his entire life, maybe he called in the wrong player. The coach could tell Ti-Guy was confused. The reasoning behind this decision was Ti-Guy is now 6’6 240, could skate pretty well, quite physical and great hockey IQ. The coach was surprised the transition from forward to defense wasn’t something that was done before. It actually made sense. Ti-Guy wanted to be like his dad his whole life so playing an another position was never something that crossed his mind. A few games has been played and Ti-Guy was able to adapt at a pretty fast pace. His long stick and physical attributes made him a redoubtable d-man right away. He was still pretty raw but his play was good enough to get a few scouts look at him. He would be available in the next SMJHL draft. It was his first season at his new position and the other top prospects were quite more polished than him. The consensus was he could one day be a valuable player but he would take quite some time to develop. He would never put up big numbers but he could become one day a real effective defensive d-man.

Ti-Guy attended the s38 SMJHL with his mom and brother. He wasnt expecting much really. A few teams had some talk with him but nothing more. It was a pretty crazy experience. This whole atmosphere made him think about his dad. Since that infamous day, Ti-Guy never saw or talk to Guyslain again. This day was supposed to be their special moment. The draft was about to begin and this thought ruined the excitement for a bit. The first few rounds are over and like expected Ti-Guy is still on the board. Even though he wasn't expected to get draft high, he's hoping a team would take a chance on him ans not go undrafted. Round 7 was about to end. There was very little few people left on the stands as the draft has been going for hours. The Colorado Mammoths were on the stage and announce they were selecting Ti-Guy Emond…

Absolutely love it gaby! Excited we could pick up Ti-Guy for the Mammoths. Will be one hell of a defender and will be a solid part of any team he is on.

Also, your english is class. Really happy we drafted you!

I'm disappointed Ti-Guy doesn't have a brother named Ti-Mé.
