Registered S38 Challenge Cup Champion Punching Bag Of The Game Mr. Faceoffs Mr. Faceoffs had an impressive showing during the game. Unfortunately, so did Justin Siddals. Siddals rocked Mr. Faceoffs twice during the match tonight, causing him to cough up the puck. In addition to the two times that Siddals rearranged his chiclets, Faceoffs was rattled two more times during the match, one of said hits caused him a brief outage during the second period. Still waiting to hear back from the medical staff on his disappearance, but he was back on the bench shortly after we noticed he was off the ice, so maybe it was just an equipment issue. (WC:106)

What a game we had tonight folks. These two teams were evenly matched from the start and kept battling back and forth all the way to the 9th shooter in the shootout when it was finally ended. Oliver Kovacs is coming out with the first star of the night getting a goal and an assist on four shots and just over 22 minutes of icetime. The winning shootout marker was scored on a dandy of a move by Tylor Schofield. Unlikely hero? Definitely, but he was who the team needed to get it done tonight.
Geezus Kryyst will pick up the win in goal, stopping 21 on 23. While Cedric Robinson played a strong game saving 26 of 28 of Halifax's shots, he just couldn't best his opponent in the shootout.

Goaltending breakdown:
Geezus Kryyst: 21 saves on 23 shots, .913 S% Kryyst played very well this game, especially in the long shootout that earned him the W. The first period saw 1 goal on 9 shots, as the Falcons put on the pressure but were only able to squeak out a single goal. The second period saw less action for Kryyst, and he stopped all 6 Falcon shots he faced. Unfortunately he let in a doozie in the third, leading to an overtime frame where he redeemed himself, stopping all 3 shots in that period. Kryyst let in the second shot he faced in the shootout, but was able to stop 6 consecutive shots after that to secure the shootout victory for the Raiders. A very solid game in net for Geezus Kryyst, and a nice win to add to his collection. Cedric Robinson: 26 saves on 28 shots, .929 S% Robinson had an outstanding game in regulation, but unfortunately could not match that in the shootout. He unfortunately lost the lead for his team in the first, stopping 4 of 5 shots, but played better in the second, stopping 8 of 9 Raider shots. He truly shined in the third period, standing on his head and stopping all 12 shots to send the game to overtime. After an uneventful overtime solved nothing, the shootout definitely did. Robinson only stopped 5 of 7 shots in the shootout, and after 9 rounds the game was decided. A respectable showing from Robinson and a tough shootout loss for the team. 258 words

The Falcons and Raiders fought hard through three periods and then some more. Even though the Falcons put up a good fiht it was the Raiders came out on top, and had all three stars to prove it. The rookie brothers, Oliver and Kristof Kovacs shined brightly as they took the first two stars. Oliver had a health 1-1-2 night on the scoreline. Kristof had one goal and a solid 51% face off percentage. Aiden Elswick took the third star, He had one assist but was on the line for two Raider goals, with a 2 +/-. See you in the next game. 110 Words |
