PGS Game 54: Halifax Raiders vs Montreal Militia
#16

Goaltending Review

Geezus Kryyst (HFX): This is one of the rare games where the goalie on the losing end of things had the better game. Kryyst made 24 saves on 28 shots in a game where the Raiders were thoroughly outplayed, with Kryyst's performance being one of the few reasons they were in the game for so long. The big regret for Kryyst, giving up a goal six seconds into the second period. Can't be doing things like that and expecting to win.

Petr Vrana (MTL): When you face less than 20 shots in a game, you better be on your peak. Vrana wasn't. He gave up two goals on 17 shots and was outplayed by the goalie at the other end of the ice. Luckily for Vrana, his team bailed him out.

Montreal Dominates After Early Slip

Things started off poorly for the Militia as they gave up an early power play goal from Corbett after a slashing call on Rasmus. They got back in the game quickly enough after a power play goal of their own from Valentine. It was a close first period but it was mostly all Montreal after that.

They scored off the draw in the second.
Speardane tied it up late in the second but Hudec broke the tie for Montreal less than a minute later.

Ulrich sealed the deal early in the third with another power play goal and that was it. The Raiders were outshot 28-17.

Solid power play work by the Militia who went 2 for 4.
