TASK ONE:

Ostap Maksimov is a Russian professional ice-hockey defenseman, currently playing for the SHL's Calgary Dragons. A first round draft pick in the S39 SHL Draft, Maksimov is known for his sharp defensive play and driving offence from the blue line. Beginning his professional career playing for the SMJHL's Vancouver Whalers, Maksimov entered his draft season as one of the top rated skaters in his class, but surprisingly, wasn't selected until late in the first round. Since joining the SHL permanently in S41, Maksimov has been an important part of Calgary's defense, stepping in to assist some of their aging star-players like Michael Boychuk and Adam Kaiser, and by all accounts will be one of the team's most important players in the long term. Maksimov recently signed a contract extension in Calgary that will see him remain for at least the next three seasons, during which time many believe he will rise further to prominence and become one of the SHL's premier defensemen.

TASK TWO:

If you want an unsung hero, they don't come much better than the New England Wolfpack's Mikke Laukkanen, who is having an incredible resurgence in this year's postseason. The Wolfpack haven't had the luck they would like in scoring besides their biggest names, which makes Laukkanen's contribution absolutely crucial to them being where they are now. His 0.935% save percentage and measly 2.12 GAA are both incredible numbers in support of just how good Laukannen has been, especially if you take into consideration just how many more shots he has faced than any other goalie in the playoffs, 401 in total, and for fans of the Wolfpack it seems like he has been able to regain his cup winning form of years gone by. While much praise deservedly goes to the playoff's top scorers, Laukkanen has been the playoff's unsung hero with very few others performing even close to their level. If he can keep it up for the finals, it should make for a thrilling series.

TASK SEVEN:

For the New England Wolfpack, I see forward Manuel Götze having a big impact in this series. The youngster has given a good account of himself so far in the playoffs and put up 6 points, but his main contribution has been as a power forward type player, as he has effectively laid the body a great number of times and been a serious physical threat for the Wolfpack through both their series. Götze looks like someone who has some real talent and could eventually go on to be one of the league's best power forwards best on the level of play he has shown at the tender age he is at now. Expect for him to have a big impact on the final series as he keeps the Dragons on their toe; they better keep their head up with him around. For the Calgary Dragons, I've already discussed Ostap Maksimov and how good he is, but I think the young player who will have the biggest impact is Hunter Jones. The S38 forward us been an assisting machine, collecting 11 in the 12 games played. He's the perfect foil for the natural goalscorers they have in the shape of Joe Kurczewski and Mike Izzy, and plays a seriously important role for Calgary in terms of getting into the right places and making his linemates better. Hunter Jones is just now entering his prime years, and this series could be his real announcement that he's ready to step up to the big time.

Task One:
New England Wolfpack rookie, Manuel Gotze, is playing his first season in the SHL. He's made it to the grandest stage of them all. Gotze played for the Colorado Raptors/Mammoths in the SMJHL. Gotze hails from Frankfurt, Germany, and is one of the most physical players on the team. His checking ability is one of his many strengths. He always makes his presence known on the ice. His ability to hit others and clear space for linemates to score is what caught the eye of scouts around the league. Gotze has excelled at every stage in his hockey career. The 6’3, 220-pound right winger brings a vicious play style to the ice. Opponents cringe when they see Gotze hop over the boards. Gotze has been a natural fit with his line mates Bure and Kaiser. The two vets have helped Gotze adjust to the physical demands of the SHL. This style of play has helped contribute to the success that New England has found all season long.

TASK TWO:
Mikke Laukkanen is definitely the story out of the playoffs that you probably didn’t hear. Laukkanen posted a 0.925 save percentage, a 2.38 goal allowed stat. These stats are pretty good for this league. Laukkanen’s great performance this late in his career is one of the keys for the Wolfpack pressing through the first two rounds. Teams that were considered highly offensive were met with a brick wall called Mikke Laukkanen. The people paid to report on the game noticed, though. Laukkanen’s game was given all sorts of praise from around the league. Various pundits calling it a fluke, others calling it classic Laukkanen. Laukkanen can show up big when needed and proved it here during the S42 playoffs. Laukkanen is a big part of why the Wolfpack mad it this far. For the Wolfpack to win a cup, Laukkanen will need to be that hero that they can depend on, and throughout the playoffs, so far, he has been.

TASK SEVEN:
Piotr Czerkawski spent the season down with Montreal in the SMJHL. After Montreal was eliminated, there was a spot for Czerkawski on the New England roster, so the move was made to call Czerkawski up right before game one of the finals. Czerkawski was replacing Forbrook who hadn’t done much in the playoffs. Czerkawski, in his second SHL game, put up 2 goals! It was incredible. From the third line, Czerkawski was playing really good hockey. Piotr Czerkawksi is standing out among young Wolfpack players. While New England has a bunch of young forwards, all talented, Czerkawski is developing at a rapid pace. In the SMJHL, he was a man among boys, and his talent is going to allow him to transition easily into the SHL. It’s hard to pick between Czerkawski and Gotze, but I give the nod to Czerkawksi for being able to make his SHL debut in the finals and not die to nerves.

TASK ONE: In at least 150 words, write an introductory paragraph for a potential Wikipedia article about one of the players in the finals. Include draft season and the teams they have played for.

RW - Dieter Dominique
TPE: 1,229 - Sniper
Drafted in S28 in the second round with 16th Overall Pick by New England Wolfpack he is from Germany. He is yet another multi-time champion for new England Wolfpack. but he was a bit late to the party winning it "only" in S31 and S33. He is also very decorated IIHF player winning it both in S32 and S36 for gold medal and finishing with the silver medal in S31 and S34 while representing Germany - it's interesting he never finished third. He is also still a very dangerous player, manning one of the top first lines in the SHL, currently with 15 goals and the 13 assists. He is a very loyal player spending his entire career in the New England. In S42 he finally came back to the finals, this time against Calgary Dragons.
In S30 he won Jackson Rogers-Tanaka Award for Outstanding Dedication.
He is not only touted for his on-ice skills, but also his leadership and sportsmanlike behaviour in the locker room, where he creates unbelievable atmosphere - for sure any team could use such stabilizing presensce.

TASK TWO: Who is your choice for the unsung hero of the S42 playoffs up to this point? Must be at least 150 words and include at least two statistics in support.

Oisin Fletcher - It's hard to call final component of the amazing wolfpack top line and my personal frontrunner to the MVP award an unsung hero but here we are. Being second in the league in regular season in points, but also having positive +19 +/- while playing almost the same amount of power play and penalty kill minutes (which is similar to my role in my previous team - Militia, and I very much respect that, instead of being a one-dimensional player, opportunistic on power play minutes). What's almost as impressive too is 3 shorthanded goals in one season (the feat achieved last year in SMJHL by Piotr Czerkawski too, also on 6 shots- I love these parallels) - but going back to playoffs feats - Oisin fletcher scored two clutch GWG goals and is having positive hit ratio of 31 to 21 which is rare for such a sniper. Not only that but also team-high 2 first stars and 3 3rd stars, which shows how impactful player Oisin Fletcher really is. New England Wolfpack has no doubt Flether not only is the unsung hero for now, but should also be considered as MVP frontrunner both in regular season and in the playoffs.

These finals will be the special place for Piotr Czerkawski, whom will make his New England Wolfpack debut on the biggest stage. He is still just S41 player, which means his debut will come within two seasons of being drafted - still a rare feat. Last time a Wolfpack rookie was called up in the playoffs was Toivo Kosonen, S33. Wolfpack went onto beat Calgary for the Challenge Cup. May the history repeat itself! He specyfically trained whole season to fit seamlessly into Wolfpack third line focusing on his defence & passing. NEW has plenty of other impactful young players to just name a few: C - Artemi Berezin, G - Julian O'Sullivan, D - Patrick Brumm Jr. and RW - Manuel Gotze .
Dragons have the good contingent of S38 and younger players too: RW - Hunter Jones, D - Ostap Maksimov, D - Otis B. Driftwood and LW - Shooter McGavin. Especially Ostap Maksimov have a big role to fill sharing 2nd defense pairing with veteran Casey Creller.
You can see clearly all of the teams have a lot depth and their teams don't really only on big names and should be in contention for coming years too.

TASK ONE: Young gun defender Ostap Maksimov is a fierce, eager defender who has made a name for himself in his few seasons where's he's been in the SHL. Born out of Russia where all he did on his free time was play hockey, Ostap's only goal growing up was to make the SHL. And he did, in S39 Ostap Maksimov was drafted in the first round by the Calgary Dragons in what is known as one of the best draft classes in recent history. Quite an impressive thing to do. However it wasn't until S41 where he got his shot at the SHL. Previously playing in the SMJHL in S38,S39 and S40 with the Whalers, Ostap trained and perfected his game to show the SHL what he had when he got the call. 2 seasons into the big league and he has proven to everyone that he isn't no bust and has solidified himself as one of the best young offensive defenseman. At this rate he is going, Ostap could soon be a top 3 defender in the SHL. The future is exciting for the young gun.

TASK TWO: Randy Randleman is going to be my go to man for unsung hero of the playoffs. Randleman has been playing a very team friendly game this past playoffs and he's no doubt a huge reason why the Dragons are in the finals versus the Wolfpack right now. Some stats to prove this case... In 10 playoff games he has only served 1 minor penalty. 1! Quite impressive and forsure a clutch dude that you want on your team in important games like this. He has also been on for more goals scored than goals scored agaisnt. The Calgary forward stands at an impressive +7. Another big help to the team. 1 more example of how responsible he is in his own end is his 5 blocked shots. Those 5 blocked shots may not seem like a lot to some but it probably went a long way in getting his team to the finals. All of these amazing stats while only playing sub 20 minutes a night. Not bad
TASK FOUR: PM SENT

TASK SEVEN: For the Wolfpack, it's hard to say someone else but Piotr Czerkawski will be the top young gun for the team. After his SMJHL team was eliminated in the 2nd round of SMJHL playoff, Czerkawski finished his SMJHL career with some sadness and possibly even tears but that doesn't mean he isn't hungry for a cup. After the playoff loss to Vancouver, Piotr was called up to the Wolfpack to play in the finals. He will be eager and hungry to show the world what he has while fighting for the cup which leads to believe that he will be New England's top young gun.

As for the Dragons, Ostap Maksimov has been Calgary's top young player and there is no reason to think that he will slow down this far. He's young and eager and he already has won a cup before so he knows what he has to do to secure cup. With his experience and youth, I believe Ostap is Calgary's best youngster.

TASK ONE:
Xander Green (born in S16, in Exeter, United Kingdom) is an English professional ice hockey centre of the New England Wolfpack in the Simulation Hockey League (SHL). Green was selected by the Wolfpack forth overall in the S34 SHL Entry Draft.

Green entered the SHL universe in S33 when he was selected third overall by the Prince George Firebirds in the S33 SMJHL Entry Draft. Green played his whole career for the New England Wolfpack and matured into his current top line Center position. Already a top prospect from the moment he declared for the SMJHL Draft Green's career path was closely followed by a lot of SHL fans. It is safe to say that Green fulfilled these high expectations and is currently making a name for himself as one of the top Centers in the New England Wolfapck history.

Green entered the SHL in S36 which was quite a success since his team was able to play in the finals but they ultimately lost to the Texas Renegades.

TASK ONE: In at least 150 words, write an introductory paragraph for a potential Wikipedia article about one of the players in the finals. Include draft season and the teams they have played for.

Richard ´Mr´ C.hocolate is a professional virtual athlete who is currently playing for the Calgary Dragons. He was born somewhere in USA, his birth certificate was written on piece of wood that later burned, so his background is unknown on some parts. What we do know is that Richard joined SMJHL team Halifax Raiders for S28, he was their starting goalie and the performances that year really caught the eye of scouts from multiple teams. Many were expecting C.hocolate to be a first round pick and in the end that was the case, he got drafted 13th overall by the Dragons at season 29 SHL entry draft. For next three seasons Richard played with Halifax in SMJHL before moving up to SHL for S32. Start to life in Calgary was not easy, he had to play the backup role until S37 before finally getting the starting role. From there on he has been Calgarys starter and fan favorite.

TASK TWO: Who is your choice for the unsung hero of the S42 playoffs up to this point? Must be at least 150 words and include at least two statistics in support.
Patrikov Bure from New England Wolfpack has been playing on high level so far, 12 games and 0+5 in those. The biggest reason why I picked Bure is his penalty minute total, 0! Extremely disciplined, always thinks two steps ahead, so he wont have to rely on using his stick and risk taking penalty. As we all know, even one bad penalty can lose you the game and in the worst case scenario - the whole series. Patrikov as mentioned has not scored any goals yet, but it´s not from lack of trying - 31 shots in 12 games tells a story, he wants to score, but also shows his high hockey IQ, better to shoot the puck towards the net than try to make plays that are not there, bad turnover and all of a sudden you are forced to take penalty.

Players like Bure wins you championships, simple hockey and always knowing what he is doing and what is going on around him.

TASK SEVEN: Which young player on each team will have (or, if you're doing this later, has had) the biggest impact in the Cup finals, and why? Must mention at least one player S38 or younger per team. Must be at least 150 words.

Manuel Gotze is a rookie playing for New England, 4+2 in 12 games are solid numbers from the second line. It´s not the offensive side that has caught the eye of many, it´s Manuel´s ability to hit. Whopping 40 hits is the 4th most by any player in the playoffs! He is a player who can be the difference maker with his physical side, creates space to his linemates, but also simply by hitting the players he can create turnovers and play key part that way when a goal is scored. Also worth mentioning that Gotze has only 6 penalty minutes, so he hits hard and cleanly - players like that are worth a lot.

From Calgary it´s hard not to pick Ostap Maksimov, 0+8 in 10 games for the S39 draftee. The reason why I picked Ostap and not Jones for example is Ostap and his work on the blueline while Calgary has been on the powerplay, 0+4 on the PP while always making sure the puck is moving fast and accurately. Not a surprise to see Calgary´s PP to be the best with 31% rating, Maksimov is a modern defender, skates really well and looks comfortable with puck on his stick.

TASK ONE: In at least 150 words, write an introductory paragraph for a potential Wikipedia article about one of the players in the finals. Include draft season and the teams they have played for.

Dieter Dominique began his career with the Kelowna Knights of the SMJHL. He entered the league as an undrafted free agent, able to choose his own destiny. He went on to enter the SHL draft in S28, joining the New England Wolfpack at the same time as other legends of the team Mia Landvik and Mikka Laukkanen. Dominique spent a few more seasons in his original hockey home of Kelowna before joining the Wolfpack full time in Season 31. His early career in particular had some impressive team finishes, including winning the Challenge Cup in both S31 and S33, and also being part of IIHF championships for Germany in S32 and S36. Dieter's legacy lives on, as he already finds himself in the all-time Wolfpack record books for basically all important offensive statistics, including Goals, Assists, Points, +/- rating, and Games Played. He could go down as one of the greatest draftees in New England history, a truly dedicated member of the team.

TASK TWO: Who is your choice for the unsung hero of the S42 playoffs up to this point? Must be at least 150 words and include at least two statistics in support.

While Oisin Fletcher stole much of the show for the Wolfpack during the regular season, a different key forward has found more success for the team during the first two rounds of the playoff. That man is Xander Green, who managed 5 goals and 6 assists in those 12 games, good for a +4 rating. He has also been near the top of the team leaderboard in hits given with 20, though he's unfortunately taken a lot of them in return as well. Green has also been key to NEW's faceoff success, taking 420 of them (just blaze) and seeing a solid success rate of 52.62% for his efforts. Clearly Xander is doing things right all over the ice, maybe not being the flashiest player with massive goal scoring numbers or bone-crunching hits, but contributing in all facets of the game and helping lead the team to the finals.

TASK SEVEN: Which young player on each team will have (or, if you're doing this later, has had) the biggest impact in the Cup finals, and why? Must mention at least one player S38 or younger per team. Must be at least 150 words.

While I'd love to be able to say that it was myself or one of my teammates who had the biggest impact on this finals, I think I pretty much have to go with Ostap Maksimov for his stellar performance as a young defender for the Dragons. He's not much of a physical presence out there, and not a particular sharp shooter either. But what he does exceptionally well is find open teammates wherever they are on the ice and get them the puck so they can make something happen. He started things off with 8 assists during the first two rounds of the playoffs, and followed that up with another 5 throughout the finals, including 2 big ones in the deciding game 6. He was overshadowed by a few other flashier and older teammates, but this youngster was a true playmaker for Calgary and stepped up big time when they most needed him.

Task 1: Mikko Jyri Linna (born April 25th, 1997) is a Finnish professional winger currently playing for the Calgary Dragons of the Simulation Hockey League (SHL). Prior to entering the league, Linna played, and served as captain, for the Kelowna Knights of the Simulation Major Junior Hockey League (SMJHL) for three seasons. Linna was drafted into the SHL by the West Kendall Platoon in the S28 SHL Entry Draft, 8th overall. He remained in Kelowna for two seasons before receiving the call-up to West Kendall. That season, he earned the Ryan Jesster Award for Rookie of the Year, with 13 goals, 26 points, and 31 hits., and also received a nod to the All-Rookie All-Star team. In S41, Linna won his first Challenge Cup with the West Kendall Platoon, scoring 28 points in 20 playoff games. The following offseason, Linna was traded to the Calgary Dragons for Dani Forsberg. In S42, Linna became a back-to-back champion, winning his second Challenge Cup with the Calgary Dragons.

Task 2: One consistently underrated player came up big for the Calgary Dragons this playoffs, young defenseman Roman Augustus, yet he still receives little fanfare from the media and general public. Augustus finished the playoffs over PPG, with 17 points in 16 games. He also tied for the team lead in shot blocks with 24, showing that Augustus was not afraid to throw his body around to protect his goaltender and his defensive zone from offense. While Augustus is not a very physical player otherwise, having only 10 hits in 17 games, he has more than made up for it with his strong offensive production. Additionally, Augustus showed a strong protective aspect to his on-ice personality, getting into a fight with Cameron Dubois in the Dragons' 1-0 4OT win in the finals. Clearly, Augustus is already a very underrated cornerstone of the Dragons' roster, and seeing as he is not even in regression yet, likely will be for a very long time.

Code:

Tasks 4/9: Will take averages of all submissions for grading.

Task 7: While the lead rookie scorer in the playoffs belongs to the Wolfpack, it would seem that it was Calgary that had significantly more production from its young stars throughout these playoffs. Young guns Ostap Maksimov and Otis B. Driftwood came up big for their team in their Challenge Cup-winning playoff run, with 13 and 6 points respectively as defensemen. Both players also had nearly a shot block per game, showing their willingness to play hard for their teams.

The Wolfpack, on the other hand, were a bit lacking in young production on the team, a likely contributor to Calgary's eventual win in the series. One player who did manage to get his name known over the course of the series was rookie forward Manuel Gotze, who led rookie scoring in the playoffs this season with 9 points in 18 games. Additionally, Gotze had a massive physical presence, particularly for his age, in this series, putting up 57 hits in that stretch of games.

TASK ONE: In at least 150 words, write an introductory paragraph for a potential Wikipedia article about one of the players in the finals. Include draft season and the teams they have played for.
Piotr Czerkawski (pronounced [pjɔtr t͡ʂɛrˈkafskʲi]; born April 22, 1998) is a Polish ice hockey player currently playing for the New England Wolfpack of the Simulation Hockey League. Piotr Czerkawski is born in Radomsko, Poland and his the nephew of retired NHL player Mariusz Czerkawski. Piotr Czerkawski started his career in the Simulation Major Junior Hockey league as the eight pick of the Season 40 entry draft. He joined the rank of the Montreal Militia for his short stint in the farm league of the Simulation Hockey League. In his first season, Piotr Czerkawski finished the season with 23 points. Following the season, the New England Wolfpack selected Piotr Czerkawski with the third overall pick, in the S41 SHL entry draft. He would return in the SMJHL for two more seasons. He had a break out season in Season 41 where he finished with 46 points but returned on earth in Season 42 with 33 points. In Season 42, as the Montreal Militia were eliminated in the second round of the SMJHL, he was called up to the New England Wolfpack to help them in the finals of the Challenge Cup.

TASK TWO: Who is your choice for the unsung hero of the S42 playoffs up to this point? Must be at least 150 words and include at least two statistics in support.
My current unsung hero for the New England Wolfpack is currently Manuel Gotze. As a second line forward and as a more physical oriented player, Manuel Gotze is not someone the fans talk a lot about. He is none the less very essential to the New England Wolfpack playoff run right now, than it seems. In 12 games, he managed to land 40 clean hits while escaping many players who want to return it as he only received six hits. He has three shots blocked, one point on the power play and five point (4 goals) on equal strength. One of his goal was a game-tying goal. When he has to take a faceoff, the team know he can manage to get himself out of the whole as he managed to win 47% of his 17 faceoffs he had to take during this playoff run. For me, the main advantage to have Manuel Gotze is that he is making the other players uncomfortable on the ice, as they do not want to be hit by the King.

TASK SEVEN: Which young player on each team will have (or, if you are doing this later, has had) the biggest impact in the Cup finals, and why? Must mention at least one player S38 or younger per team. Must be at least 150 words.
I believe Season 41 youngster Piotr Czerkawski will have a big impact on the New England Wolfpack Challenge Cup conquest. It wasn’t really a thing due to other circumstances before that rookies could be called up during the finals and be actually able to perform at full capacity. Now Piotr Czerkawski will be king of the third line and will be able to boost the depth of the New England Wolfpack. The fact the third line got conceivably better with the addition of Piotr Czerkawski is undeniable and this should help the New England Wolfpack to be a little bit more competitive and to give more trouble to the Calgary Dragons. Piotr Czerkawski has about 34 games of playoff experience in the SMJHL level. He managed to get 28 points in all of them. If Piotr Czerkawski manage to channel his Season 41 playoff inner self, where he scored 22 of those 28 points, the New England Wolfpack should be able to get some production going on the third line. On the Calgary Dragons side, fans should keep an eyes on Hunter Jones as he's the most likely to elevate his game and help the Dragons.

TASK ONE: In at least 150 words, write an introductory paragraph for a potential Wikipedia article about one of the players in the finals. Include draft season and the teams they have played for.

Mike Izzy (b. September 4th, 1995) is a Canadian hockey player in the Simulation Hockey League on the Calgary Dragons. The Two Way Forward from Whitby, Ontario got his start with the Kelowna Knights in the Simulation Major Junior Hockey League. In his first season with the Knights, Izzy won the Maxim Horvat team award for Top Rookie. Mike Izzy heard his name called by the Edmonton Blizzard in the S35 SHL Entry Draft and was sent down for two more years in Junior. Izzy finally got the call and it led to an $8,000,000 contract with the Calgary Dragons where he has won two Championships.

TASK TWO: Who is your choice for the unsung hero of the S42 playoffs up to this point? Must be at least 150 words and include at least two statistics in support.

Randy Randleman is my unsung hero of the S42 Playoffs. Randleman has been on fire recording 12 points in 10 games while scoring on 22.22% of his shots, talk about a clutch player! If Randy Randleman shoots the puck, it is mostly likely finding it's way through the goalie and tickling the twine. Randleman has only taken one penalty the entire playoffs so far, one of the more disciplined player in today's game, especially in the shit show that is the SHL Playoffs. Randy is also doing all this while playing just over 20 minutes a night, significantly less than the players he is being compared with. Keep an eye out for Randy Randleman to be a game changer for the Dragons during the rest of the series.

TASK FOUR: Unscramble the names of these four players who will be competing in the Challenge Cup Finals. Send the answers to me by forum PM. You will not get credit for posting the answers in this thread. [Grading: 1 TPE for participation, 0.5 TPE for each correct answer]

Oisin Fletcher (born Cody Oisin Fletcher in Quebec City, Quebec, Canada on September 30, 1993) is an Irish-Canadian ice hockey player who plays for the New England Wolfpack of the SHL. After being selected 26th overall in the S35 SMJHL Entry Draft by the Halifax Raiders, Cody had a great rookie season in the SMJHL, where he scored 29 points on a struggling Raiders team. Following this, he was selected 3rd in the S36 SHL Draft by the New England Wolfpack. After a glittering juniors career with Halifax, where he won two Four Star Cups and had the fourth-best scoring regular season in SMJHL history with 64 points in S37, Oisin was called up by the Wolfpack, where he's had a stellar career, scoring more than 25 points in every season. After the S36 SMJHL season, Cody became the head of the Irish IIHF team, and he changed his name to Oisin (which was his middle name). While head/co-head of Ireland, Oisin has won a silver medal and two bronze medals. He stepped down from his co-head spot before the S42 IIHF tournament started.

My unsung hero of the S42 playoffs up to this point is Hunter Jones. The Finnish winger has played tremendously for the Western Conference Champion Calgary Dragons. He currently has 11 points, all assists, which is good for 7th on the Dragons points-wise and 2nd on the Dragons (and throughout the playoffs) assist-wise. He's done a great job of distributing the puck for Calgary. Jones has also done a great job of being on the ice at the right time, as his +7 plus-minus is tied for second on the Dragons (behind Mike Izzy) and is also tied for second throughout the entire playoffs. Another thing Hunter is good at is staying out of the penalty box. He's only been in the box for five minutes throughout the entire playoffs. His points per 20 minutes is also great, at an above-average 1.08. Watch out for this kid, cause he's going to be something special.

There are a fair amount of talented youngsters on the Dragons, including Ostap Maksimov, Shooter McGavin, and Otis B. Driftwood, but their most high-impact youngster has to be Hunter Jones. The Finnish left wing has scored 11 points, all assists, and has been one of the best wingers throughout the playoffs. His ability to slide the puck to anyone's stick is unrivaled, and he'll really need to stay consistent (which he probably won't have any problem doing) during the Challenge Cup Finals if Calgary want to hoist it. New England also have some good youngsters at their disposal, like Artemi Berezin and Patrick Brumm Jr., but their shining light among those guys has been Manuel Gotze. The German rookie right winger has been great for a surprising Wolfpack team (who probably shouldn't be in the Finals, as they had to go through West Kendall AND Hamilton). Gotze has scored 6 points from a second-line spot, and for a rookie, that's really impressive. He's going to need to ramp up his production though, as the Challenge Cup Finals is anyone's game. But I think the young winger has it in him.
