The PT affiliaton case during this week has been a true rollercoaster of emotions, at first I did not know what to think and in many ways that is still the case, but still I must say that now when I have gone back and taken the time to really read the answers on that thread, I think I have made my peace with it, could even say I have seen the light at the end of the tunnel and that is why I´m here today to say this,

I hate you all. I wish nothing but bad luck to you and your players, I hope your players never find chemistry with anyone, I hope your players get regressed double and lastly, I hope you get fired in middle of the season for cap reasons.

Now that I got it out of my system, It´s time to move on. Quite few have been writing to me in the past few days and asked for new ideas on how to improve the SHL, I spent the whole day today trying to think something, but not going to lie - it´s been hard. Never seen group of users who feel so entitled to be rewarded just for showing up, how do you pitch an idea about something to a user who wants to do very little, but still get the maximum reward for it?

The first idea I had was to hire around 5 updaters for each team, who then collect all the links for threads the user has posted on to earn TPE: AC´s, Training etc, then the updater basically makes sure the player is fully updated from start to finish. That way the user can spend more time doing something actually useful around SHL when he/she don´t have to worry about anything updating related. We all know there is nothing worse than the tedious task of having to improve your player.

Another thing I thought about was the graphics and media writing. I can´t personally do anything graphics related, but there are users who can and I think it´s almost unfair that I need to take time out of my busy schedule to first learn how to do graphics and then actually do them on SHL just to earn money. I´m sure the same goes for users who cant write media articles for whatever reason, league almost forces users to start learning or you risk being a player who never reaches the full potential. Who has the time to learn to write or do graphics? My idea is to put everybody on the same level, remove the ability to make money/tpe from graphics and media writing, having to do a significant amount of work for something that is supposed to be fun does not make any sense in the modern sim league world.

I remember when I first joined SHL years ago, it felt almost impossible to write 1000 words, not going to lie, I was close to leaving the site completely when I saw how much money users were making and how much better their players were, so if making money/tpe from media writing and graphics is removed, I believe we can get even more users into SHL and the site moves towards being something more than just a sim league, could be a place for people to hang out and chat, seeing the sims and being part of a virtual hockey team are fun things to do, but not something SHL should focus on at 100%, should try to cater more towards the casual sport fans and users of the internet.

Unfortunately that is all the time I have for today, going to try and think more in the future, thank you.

About time SHL steps out of this almost elitist way of thinking, need to find a way to bring in the users who don´t like hockey that much or find it hard to be part of more than one or two sim leagues.
