The New Faces raiders

Jimmy Slothface, Perry Morgan, Kristoffer Matsson, Andrej Doskocil, Matt Kholin, Mike McKorsy, Frank Mouette, Oleg Scoreov, Troy Reynolds, Clifton Outlaw, PP Paradise, Yungi Javi, Dylan Karlsson and Nero Slater. 14 picks, 14 new faces, and the future of Halifax shaped in a single night. We now introduce you to your new Halifax Raiders the three centres, six wingers, four defensemen and goalie drafted.

Since Zema did a pick by pick description, this is just a brief into and general review of the draft.

The Raiders put a high priority this draft on character. The ultimate goal was to draft a group who will build up a warm, friendly and active locker room that new users are going to be excited to be a part of. Over the last few days we spent a lot of time talking to the draftees, but as those who we were speaking to can testify, not much of that conversation was centred on the players build or TPE earning rate. What these conversations were centred was about the kind of environment these players wanted to build, what they hoped to achieve in the SMJHL as a collective and the type of impact they want to have on others in the SHL.

We were very fortunate to be able to draft the group of individuals that we did. Some will be here for a short while then leave, some will stay longer, some may be SHL legends one day, but regardless we feel we will be quite proud to have said that each of these people was a Raiders alumni. If you build a good community, and bring in good people, good things follow.
