The Montreal Militia return to their home base after a split two game road trip. The Militia thought it might be a good time to take advantage of the Scarecrows as they are in a heated dispute with the league over a glitch in the draft pick process. The Militia got things rolling to another sell out crowd at 9:31 and 11:01 scoring twice in a flash! Kristoffer Svensson and Keegan Angello scored the goals respectively. Svensson was assisted by Siobhan Ryleigh and Rookie Ravyn Tedisko who hasn't seen much ice time in her first 5 games but is making the most of her ice time and this was the night she proved her salt. Oliver Klozoff got his fourth assist and Griffith Cadwalader got his second in the Angello goal. Everything was going according to plan and some of the players from the Militia were chirping about the league dispute that one player said could cause a strike. We here at the Gazette highly doubt any type of a players strike but we thought it was an interesting strategy on the Militias part. Unfortunately at 18:57 Taisei-Wawazat scored his first goal of the season in a late crashing of the net. Tyler Tougard and Nicolas Fleming both assisted and got their 3rd and 5th respectively. The Militia headed into the locker room looking a little upset about giving up that late goal. The period was played very clean and the only penalty came at 1:58 on Stolp Skottson for boarding which seemed a bad call on replay when you could clearly see no contact was made.

Rookie Ravyn Tedisko connected to put the Militia up by two, scoring her first SMJHL goal of her career and seemed to be enjoying the ride. St. Louis rained on the parade at 15:30 in the second as Tougard, Yamada and Fleming went tick-tack-goal to get within one! Nicolas Fleming is having a great start to the season with this being his 4th goal of the season and earlier making his 5th assist in the first period. Nothing came of the penalties that both clubs made in the second but Zarley Zalapski almost started a fight after getting called for interference at 5:44 in the period. After getting out of the box the coach of the Militia gave him an earful. He seemed to agree and got his head back in the game although he did have his worst game of his season so far playing 13:19 minutes and finishing with his first minus over all at -1.

The third period got out of control with scrums and fights. We have listed them all for you to see...

Kristoffer Svensson (MTL) for Fighting (Major) at 2:35
Lyle Odelein III (STL) for Fighting (Major) at 2:35
Charlie Serpe (STL) for Roughing (Minor) at 4:07
Isaac Yamada (STL) for Tripping (Minor) at 7:52
Dirk Von Grimmelshausen (MTL) for Interference (Minor) at 14:59
Herry Morris IV (MTL) for Tripping (Minor) at 18:22

Constant penalties that actually ended up costing the Militia the lead and the game. The Power Play Goal  at the end was the devastating blow and Martie Brunton's first of the year. Ref You Suck!
