Since his progression has been explosive in the AAA league, Jean-Francois Mayer appear to be close to sign his first contract in the SMJHL. This explains his role as spectator for the last game of the season with the Predators. On Wednesday after the morning skate, Predators Head coach David Marciano met the media and explained his decision not to dress him for the season last game. "We've let him come hang out with the guys but his stuff already packed." answered the coach, clearly hinting at Mayer's move to the SMJHL. "He definitely wanted to be on the ice for the game. He's had a great season and we're happy to have him here but he needs to focus on what's ahead of him." added the coach. Not long after the start of the second period Jean-Francois was seen leaving the press gallery and did not return for the rest of the game. Throughout the campaign, persistent rumors sent Mayer to the SMJHL as he could be a good fit for a few teams looking to reinforce their offense. Having missed the SMJHL entry draft before the season start made him a free agent for the remainder of the season. He will be eligible for next season draft. Code: word count: 226
