Welcomeeeeeeeeeeeee to the,,, fuckin thing or some shit! I'm SHL Casino Reporter Jimmy O'Money live on the scene at the SHL Casino, where things are running smoothly in the first season of operation. Today I'm going to be walking through a breakdown of the over/under bets levied. For each team, we'll take a look at the % of action on each side and what each team is on pace for (I know, I know... it's early... but it's still fun). (On pace calculations as of 6/23 - that's 14 or 15 games per team). After that, we'll look at where the action went overall. (just an FYI if you're the type of person that's gonna check the fuckin math... some knuckleheads didn't put a wager amount so their bet is included in the over/under totals but not the $$$ bet totals, I don't have access to the individual entries, just the totaled metrics, so don't check the math and hop off my darnell johnson instead)

The Person Who Deserves A Tremendous Amount Of Credit For Putting This All Together:

It's @Mike Izzy - Izzy has put in an unbelievable amount of work getting the casino up and running

Lastly, Some Thoughts From The Casino Director Himself:

I asked Izzy himself his thoughts on the casino so far: "Well, I think we did it right with SHL Casino. behind the scenes we put in allot of work, we gave the point task its proper build up and when we finally opened the casino doors i felt confident that we put out a product that a portion of our members would appreciate. When it was all said and done we had around 175 bets placed this season. I'm not sure what my expectation was but i would guesstimate that this task can reach 300+ bets per season once the leaderboard gets populated and articles like this come out which will help members familiarize themselves with aspects of SHL data that they previously paid limited attention to. I wont be around for future SHL Casino's but if the new guy follows the path we created this season.. I'm positive it will be a successful annual offseason task."

When asked if he was worried about potentially having to pay out a lot of winners when this season wraps up, Izzy responded: "Casinos are in business to make money and we have many MANY years of data which suggest that when its all said and done the idiot gamblers will be selling off their girlfriends panties on Ebay [editor's note: I personally think OnlyFans would prob be a better route for this, not that I would know anything about that] to pay off their debts. that's all ill say on the topic"

With playoffs underway, it's time to take a look at the preseason betting action on the Challenge Cup odds offered. Part I, reviewing the over/under bets, can be found here. There were 63 wagers placed on CC futures - 23 in the (2-1) category, 26 in the (4-1) category, 8 in the (6-1) category, and 6 in the (8-1) category.

Dragons  Calgary Dragons - (4-1) odds - 16 bets  Dragons

Renegades  Texas Renegades - (4-1) odds - 7 bets  Renegades

Stampede  Buffalo Stampede - (2-1) odds - 7 bets  Stampede

Specters  New Orleans Specters - (2-1) odds - 7 bets  Specters

Platoon  West Kendall Platoon - (2-1) odds - 6 bets  Platoon

pride  San Francisco Pride - (6-1) odds - 5 bets  pride

Blizzard  Edmonton Blizzard - (2-1) odds - 3 bets  Blizzard

Rage  Manhattan Rage - (4-1) odds - 2 bets  Rage

Jets  Winnipeg Jets - (6-1) odds - 2 bets  Jets

Stars  Toronto North Stars - (4-1) odds - 1 bet  Stars

Wolfpack  New England Wolfpack - (6-1) odds - 1 bet and it was probably Ace  Wolfpack

Chiefs  Minnesota Chiefs - (8-1) odds - 1 bet  Chiefs

Barracuda  Tampa Bay Barracuda - (8-1) odds - 1 bet  Barracuda

Panthers  Los Angeles Panthers - (8-1) odds - 1 bet  Panthers

syndicate  Chicago Syndicate - (6-1) odds - 0 bets  syndicate

Calgary at 4-1 was the sexiest pick for many bettors, while not a single person was enticed by Chicago at 6-1.

The 4 odds tiers in preseason were listed as:

2-1:  Stampede  Blizzard  Specters   Platoon
4-1:  Dragons  Rage  Renegades  Stars
6-1:  syndicate  Wolfpack  pride  Jets
8-1:  Steelhawks  Panthers  Chiefs  Barracuda

If a 4x4 design was used based on final season standings, the tiers would have been:

2-1:  Specters  Barracuda  Platoon  Jets
4-1:  Stampede  Steelhawks  pride  Stars
6-1:  Dragons  Blizzard  Wolfpack  Renegades
8-1:  syndicate  Rage  Panthers  Chiefs

The biggest surprises were Tampa Bay and Hamilton (in the positive direction) and Manhattan and Edmonton (in the negative). The casino will certainly be rooting against Calgary to avoid a major payout, and should consider itself lucky that there were so few bets on Tampa Bay, Winnipeg, and Hamilton.

S48 Breakdown
An in Depth Look at TPE Earnings in the SHL

S48 Season Predictions
As long as you answered everything, the S48 Season predictions guaranteed 3 capped TPE. 278 users participated in the Season Predictions. Of those, one player earned 2 capped and one player earned none due to missed guidelines. The average amount of TPE received after the added capped TPE is 8.33. Below is a histogram displaying that.

[Image: 1CWvhnWgz_hvKBmqMXNlrvPfn57pwh4ic7RIe7kC...uiz1Yyv3DN]
Removing the capped TPE removes some of the skewitouity of the data. Observing just the uncapped data gives us a look into just the answers. For the season predictions, there were 20 questions. Each question was worth 1 TPE if correct, for a max of 20 TPE uncapped. I removed the one player who did not receive and uncapped TPE, they are considered an outlier. The uncapped average was 5.34, this directly correlates to the amount of questions answered correctly. That is 26.7% of the questions. Below is a pie chart of the percentage of people who answered how many correctly. The maximum answered correctly was 10, and the minimum was 1. The light blue means they got one correct. The red means 2, yellow 3, green 4, orange 5, teal 6, purple 7, light green 8, dark blue 9 and pink 10. This shows that 22.4% of players got 5 out of 20 (25%).

S48 Championship Week (CW)
A total of 208 players submitted a championship week. The minimum TPE a player earned was 3 TPE, this was mostly due to the trivia question for casual members. Only 14 players earned the minimum 3 TPE. The maximum you could earn was 16 TPE, this was your most dedicated individuals. A total of 152 players earned the max 16 TPE. The average for this CW was 13.8 TPE. Below is a histogram displaying that.

Casino Recap - Week One Season 49

So for those of you who bet in the Casino this season, thank you. It means a lot to me that my hard work on it paid off this season. It is my hope to give weekly follow-ups on the Casino so that people may follow their bet’s easier (assuming they remember them, message me if you do not I can look into it for you) and also feels like an entertaining way to keep the Casino in the spotlight throughout the season.

In comparison, last season, just over $128,000,000 was bet on the Casino by 52 different users. This season we exceeded that mark, with 62 users betting just over $160,000,000, a 25% increase on the amount of money put on the betting lines this season. I feel that more competitive betting lines, along with the ability to bet three teams on the over/under rather than just two, was a determining factor to this.

So I’m personally proud of the numbers I put out. I worked hard to create a formula to give realistic numbers for each team based on their roster at the time the Casino was released. I know that STHS is a fickle beast and there are so many factors beyond what I did that work into the sheet. As much as I wanted a more accurate figure to work off of, I also did not want my wife to leave me while I spend too much time in front of a Google sheet.

So without further ado, let’s look at the numbers so far, team by team!

Buffalo Stampede
Over/Under 28.5 games
Current Record: 9-3-0
On Pace For: 37-13-0
Over Bets: 3
Under Bets: 5

While I don't believe the early success of the team can keep up a 37 win pace, the argument has to be made that Buffalo is once again a top contender and could eclipse the 28.5 mark this season. They also only have 1 game against a team with a better than .500 record played so far. I believe that this line will be close, and those who wagered here should keep an eye on this one.

Calgary Dragons
Over/Under 24.5 games
Current Record: 9-3-0
On Pace For: 37-13-0
Over Bets: 12
Under Bets: 0

The same that applies to the Stampede applies to the Dragons. They have 2 games against teams above .500, however with the line a mere 24.5, I would be hard pressed to see the Dragons falter hard enough to not earn another 16 wins in 38 games. Over betters here should be pleased, and personally, I’m upset that my formula let me down as hard as it did here. It’s not perfect I understand but good show so far Dragons.

Chicago Syndicate
Over/Under 21.5 games
Current Record: 6-6-0
On Pace For: 25-25-0
Over Bets: 18
Under Bets: 0

Chicago is a middle of the road team fighting to stay in the hunt in what looks to be a top heavy Eastern division. Having 5 games against Buffalo, the only team over .500 they have played so far, it’s hard to break the full season down so far, but I’m confident the 21.5 betting line may be closer than it looks here without  a bit of luck or a big roster move.

Edmonton Blizzard
Over/Under 27.5 games
Current Record: 6-6-0
On Pace For: 25-25-0
Over Bets: 0
Under Bets: 2

The Blizzard have had a tougher schedule so far, playing games against the Chiefs and Dragons, both above .500, and though it’s hard to count them out at any point of the regular season, their current run puts the betting line awful close to where this one might end up. This could be an exciting race to keep an eye on.

Hamilton Steelhawks
Over/Under 24.5 games
Current Record: 5-5-2
On Pace For: 21-21-8
Over Bets: 0
Under Bets: 13

Hamilton has had a mixed bag on their schedule so far, and though they likely would have to fight hard for a playoff spot, the betting line here could go either way still. They have the ability to go on a small winning streak and put them into the hunt, or possibly fall into top draft pick.

Los Angeles Panthers
Over/Under 20.5 games
Current Record: 4-5-3
On Pace For: 17-21-12
Over Bets: 18
Under Bets: 0

There may be a small amount of panic on this bet, but fear not, a few overtime losses into wins could put them just over this mark so far. Other than a single game against the Chiefs, they are currently playing mostly against teams in the same win/loss range they are. This could be close figuring they have many games ahead against stronger opponents.

Manhattan Rage
Over/Under 26.5 games
Current Record: 7-4-1
On Pace For: 29-17-4
Over Bets: 2
Under Bets: 10

Manhattan has put on a decent showing to start, but unfortunate games against NEW and WKP have shown they are flawed. The 26.5 betting line may be closer that many of the betters were to believe, however. On pace for 29, this could still easily go either way, with Manhattan still having several divisional games to play against the Wolfpack and Platoon.

Minnesota Chiefs
Over/Under 22.5 games
Current Record: 8-3-1
On Pace For: 33-12-5
Over Bets: 3
Under Bets: 5

The Chiefs have flat out over performed all expectations, and even their own roster, so far this season. It’s impressive, I can’t deny it. They are in crisis mode and flourishing, good on you boys and girls! They do have more tough opponents ahead of them yet, and have mostly won games against .500 or less opponents, but needing only 15 more games to pass the betting line, this is entirely doable, and one to keep an eye on.

New England Wolfpack
Over/Under 26.5 games
Current Record: 9-2-1
On Pace For: 37-8-5
Over Bets: 5
Under Bets: 3

The Wolfpack have played a top and bottom schedule so far, but their kryptonite so far seems to be the Platoon. I don’t see a 37 game pace staying true for any team, let alone New England, but there is a pretty good chance they can secure 18 wins in the next 38 games.

New Orleans Specters
Over/Under 28.5 games
Current Record: 6-6-1
On Pace For: 23-23-4
Over Bets: 1
Under Bets: 3

One of the lesser bet teams in the league, the betting line on the Specters seemed to be a lock as a top team this season based on the current roster. Playing only 4 games against top teams, and winning just one, it’s hard to see the Specters reach the 29 win mark to hit the over here, which would require 23 wins in 37 games, which is hard to accomplish for any team. Under bets here may pay out!

San Francisco Pride
Over/Under 27.5 games
Current Record: 5-5-2
On Pace For: 21-21-8
Over Bets: 1
Under Bets: 2

Another low bet team, the Pride were expected to have a better start, but are waffling a little bit to start the season. Other than a single game against both Calgary and Minnesota, one of which they won, the schedule is not that impressive. It would be hard pressed for them to hit the 28 game win mark, but based on the roster, not completely impossible if they can get out of their slump.

Tampa Bay Barracuda
Over/Under 22.5 games
Current Record: 4-8-1
On Pace For: 15-31-4
Over Bets: 20
Under Bets: 0

Betters may be a little nervous now. Tampa Bay has not had a great start to their season, even after making some off-season moves that could considerably improve their team. One could point to a long stretch of games against the Platoon, Rage and Wolfpack as a big part of this, and it would be hard to see the previous President Trophy winner drop this far, but needing 19 wins in 37 games, this could be a close one, and maybe a huge win for the Casino.

Texas Renegades
Over/Under 25.5 games
Current Record: 6-6-1
On Pace For: 23-23-4
Over Bets: 1
Under Bets: 4

Betters were obviously not convinced that the Renegades would easily hit either over or under mark here, and their on pace to make this a very close line. In the logjam of a Western conference, this could easily go either way, though they’ll need to win a few games against top teams to pull it off.

Toronto North Stars
Over/Under 21.5 games
Current Record: 1-9-2
On Pace For: 4-37-9
Over Bets: 2
Under Bets: 9

Ok, so let’s be honest, they are going to win more than 4 games. However, this is an epic tanking of a team, with scoring a HUGE issue right now. The under bet looks to be a clear obvious here already, unless they can manage 21 wins in 38 games. Pray to Simon T.

West Kendall Platoon
Over/Under 26.5 games
Current Record: 10-2-1
On Pace For: 38-8-4
Over Bets: 8
Under Bets: 1

The one person betting under here might be a loser in the long run, let’s be honest. However, they are mortal and have some top teams in the east and west to contend with if they want to hit an epic win number. I see them topping the line but stranger things have happened.

Winnipeg Jets
Over/Under 25.5 games
Current Record: 3-6-3
On Pace For: 13-25-12
Over Bets: 3
Under Bets: 0

They are a better team than this but they are not off to a good start. The team is well built but in a shitstorm of a western conference, they will need to step up to show their ability to hit the win mark. I know they can beat 13 wins, but 25.5 might be a close call. This is going to be a fun one to keep an eye on.

So there you have it, a nice tidy breakdown of the first week of the casino this season. The betting lines are closer than some may have thought, and some of the races look to be very exciting to follow. The West is chaos, and the East is top heavy. Will it all change by next week, or will we be seeing a lot of the status quo? Stay tuned for next week’s round-up!

Last week in PT: SHL considering affiliate program
Written By: @Katth

Sources within the SHL have confirmed that there have been talks about starting up an official minor league affiliate program between the SHL and the SMJHL. Currently the SHL and SMJHL teams have no affiliation, but it’s looking like that there are talks about having another league in between. This news has come from the SHL’s head office directly. As PT Department we went across the league to ask for ideas about this new minor league affiliate program and there are some very great and also funny ideas. Here are some of the best ideas we came across:

Quote:Parent Club: Chicago Syndicate syndicate
Minor League Affiliate: Rockford Underworld
Location: Rockford, Illinois

Mindset on Location:
Rockford is the third most populated city in Illinois, the first being Chicago and second being Aurora. Rockford has a far better sound to it than Aurora and is relatively close in population to Aurora as well. Rockford has also proven to be a successful market for the AHL and if I were in an owner of the Syndicate and or could choose where the affiliate was I would want it to be close to the city of Chicago, so that way the cost and time it would take to bring up players would be minimal.

Mindset on Team Name:
Being that the parent club is named Syndicate and it is an ode to the Chicago mobsters of the past I felt it was appropriate to go with another synonym of organized crime. My initial thought was to use the team name of the Rockford Racketeers, but after seeing Underworld as an option I thought that was the sexier pick of the two. I feel there is far greater potential to design a unique and captivating logo of the Underworld rather than playing on the crime of Racketeering.

Management:
My first choice for general manager is the first manager I came to know on this site @hhh81 . He instantly saw potential in me and has helped me grow as a player and always has his players best interest in mind. Without question, he's the right leader to guide this team to a championship. Equally important, I would I'd want to bring along @StadiumGambler  to be our Head Coach, we need an experienced and knowledgeable voice in the room and with him as our head coach our team would be in good hands.  There are good reasons why the Colorado Raptors LR is one of the best, and it starts from the top.

I really like this idea from @Tate. The team name is well thought of as is it’s location. As far as management goes I think those are some good choices as well. All around great looking idea.

Quote:If I were looking for a new affiliate for the New Orleans Specters, I would want something semi-close to the city for prospect travel purposes.  But I would also want to add a little international flare to the league and put my affiliate team in Mexico.  So I would place my team in Monterrey, Mexico since it is the capital of its state and on the Eastern part of Mexico.  They would be branded as the Monterrey Chupacabras to keep with the spooky aspect that the New Orleans franchise has going.  It also ties into the folklore of Mexico and would hopefully bring in more fans.  I would probably keep the colors similar to the Specters, and I would definitely design the logo to be as spooky as possible.  It would also allow the new affiliate franchise to have a lot of options as far as fun third jerseys go.  They could sell special jerseys on days like Cinco de Mayo and really embrace the culture so hopefully the country of Mexico will adopt them.  Because capitalism.  I would force @TheDangaZone to pull double duty as NOLA Co-GM and the new head GM of Monterrey because I like to see him suffer.  I would then poach @Kalakar from the Halifax management team and enslave him as the Monterrey Co-GM.  Sorry boys.

I like the name and the idea of having an international affiliate team in Mexico, but I doubt Mexico is a market with potential. Also with the future wall in place it might take some more travel time between affiliate and New Orleans. @slothfacekilla

Quote:The Tampa Bay Barracuda will have a new minor league affiliate, the Orlando Florida Men. We decided to call it such as it is a very creative and good name for a team based out of Florida. Florida Man is a very popular figure in Florida so the Tampa Bay Barracuda have decided to name their minor league affiliate with such a name. It's a great name that will strike fear into the hearts of the opposing minor league affiliate teams. The Tampa Bay Barracuda have decided to name @Fantobens as the manager of the new team. He himself is a Florida man so it only makes sense that local Florida man manages hockey team. The Orlando Florida Men will be a very successful and important team in the Simulation Hockey League's new affiliate league and will be influential in making the league successful. Tampa Bay will be close enough to watch their players develop and keep a close eye on developing manager Fantobens. This is a great idea and will be great.

I had to laugh quite hard when I read this one. I’m not sure what @Fantobens has done himself as a Florida Man, but I’ve read that Florida Man has done some crazy things in his life. So naming a hockey affiliate this way can also be added to list now. Which is probably not even the craziest. @Jepox

Quote:Our affiliate will be in South Korea because of superstar Chico Smeb. We’ll be the first team in the SHL to have an affiliate outside of North America which is a huge step for the SHL. The hope is to develop more young korean players who genetically have the potential to be a superstar like Chico, but lack the proper coaching and equipment to get started. We hope to see a boom in new Korean hockey players within the next ten to fifteen seasons after this and will maybe even have our own iihf team someday branching away from team japan

The team will be called The Seoul Mates because we are really into peace and love. The Seoul Mates will force all teams to have to travel to Korea which I’m sure will piss off the league, but oh well, they get to experience a great country and eat some of the best food in the entire world. So I wouldn’t be complaining if I was them.

So after having an affiliate in Mexico, @xDParK takes it one step further and wants to create an affilate in South Korea! Because of future super star player Chico Smeb (actually there are a few more Smebs in the league) the Dragons organisation would like to create a farm in Seoul, calling it The Seoul Mates. That’s brilliant! I wonder how you make a chicken parm on a Korean barbecue.

Besides some great articles we have also seen some amazing art being produced in this weeks PT. Here’s a selection of the best art created.

S49 Casino Recap - Week 2: Halfway Point
Written By: @Inf1d3l

Heading into the second week of the SHL season, it’s pretty clear to me that for many teams so far, their situations have changes, sometimes majorly, based on their season outlook. The betting lines are still closer than one may think, while others seem like their over or under may be close to being set in stone. However, let us look into the lines yet again in our second week of the Casino Recap Report, which turns out to be about halfway through our seasons so far!

Buffalo Stampede
Over/Under 28.5 games
Current Record: 15-9-0
On Pace For: 31-19-0
Over Bets: 3
Under Bets: 5

Buffalo has stayed in the hunt, but since the last update, has shown that they are, in fact, mortal after all. A few big losses and close wins have shown that the team is on a knife’s edge in terms of their record. The 28.5 over mark seems a lot closer than it did before, and though their schedule looks good, having a 2-2 record against a heavily rebuilding Toronto squad doesn’t bode well for long term health.

Calgary Dragons
Over/Under 24.5 games
Current Record: 18-6-1
On Pace For: 36-12-2
Over Bets: 12
Under Bets: 0

The Dragons are on a roll here, there is no doubt. The chaos in the West is something they are taking complete advantage of. The most goals for and least goals against in the Western conference, the Dragons look poised to easily break the 24.5 Over here. Betters will get a nice shiny payout on this one unless their plane goes down in a fiery ball very soon!

Chicago Syndicate
Over/Under 21.5 games
Current Record: 12-12-1
On Pace For: 24-24-2
Over Bets: 18
Under Bets: 0

Staying in that middle of the road area, Chicago dropped 1 projected win since last week. This isn’t unexpected and though they look poised to break the Over here, they still have 10 games between teams like Manhattan, New England, and Calgary to contend with. I still think this could come down to the final sim.

Edmonton Blizzard
Over/Under 27.5 games
Current Record: 11-13-1
On Pace For: 22-26-2
Over Bets: 0
Under Bets: 2

The Blizzard seem to be struggling so far, halfway through they look like a team more likely to see a draft ball lottery ball than a playoff spot. Goaltending is failing them here, and though they could pull a comeback of sorts, it’s hard to see them breaking 27.5 wins without an amazing latter half push.

Hamilton Steelhawks
Over/Under 24.5 games
Current Record: 10-13-2
On Pace For: 20-26-4
Over Bets: 0
Under Bets: 13

Hamilton lost ground in their race by a single game, and it’s not hard to see why. A strong Eastern conference is going to be hard to break out of, and without taking some wins against the West teams they have to play, I don’t see them making 25 wins. It’s not impossible here, but unlikely.

Los Angeles Panthers
Over/Under 20.5 games
Current Record: 9-10-5
On Pace For: 19-21-10
Over Bets: 18
Under Bets: 0

The Panthers are keeping this line super close so far, and 18 betters are likely shaking a bit seeing this. They need a few statement wins in the West to break over the 20.5 mark, and so far, they haven’t really gotten them. They have yet to play against conference leading Calgary and this leads me to believe they won’t hit this mark.

Manhattan Rage
Over/Under 26.5 games
Current Record: 15-8-2
On Pace For: 30-16-4
Over Bets: 2
Under Bets: 10

A recent surge in Manhattan shots on goal and scoring has picked the pace up for them, both in the standings and the Casino race. They look poised to stay above the 26.5 mark here even in a strong Eastern conference, where they are gaining ground, albeit slowly, and likely a playoff contender, their only weak point so far is against the Wolfpack, who they have 4 more games against this season.

Minnesota Chiefs
Over/Under 22.5 games
Current Record: 13-11-1
On Pace For: 26-22-2
Over Bets: 3
Under Bets: 5

The Chiefs projected win total has dropped dramatically and one might wonder if their early season surge was a lucky fluke all in all? The 22.5 game mark here is too early to call, but if the recent trend of games is any indication, this might be closer than you think. Definitely one of the better betting lines to watch.

New England Wolfpack
Over/Under 26.5 games
Current Record: 18-5-2
On Pace For: 36-10-4
Over Bets: 5
Under Bets: 3

The Wolfpack have been en fuego still, showing everyone why they are top dogs in the league right now. Without some serious changes or competition, they likely will break the 266.5 mark here, needing just 9 wins in 25 remaining games, something that seems like an easy feat for them as it stands so far. Despite the split bets, this would be a win for the betters assuming everyone bet 1 mil.

New Orleans Specters
Over/Under 28.5 games
Current Record: 13-9-3
On Pace For: 26-18-6
Over Bets: 1
Under Bets: 3

The gap is closing on the Specters and the Over, but they still are a ways from hitting the mark. They are 2nd in the West so far, but have a long way to go to reach 29 wins for the entire season. They have a well spread schedule so far and this could benefit them in the long run, but it’s hard to see them do much more than they have. However, this is still a race to watch.

San Francisco Pride
Over/Under 27.5 games
Current Record: 9-14-2
On Pace For: 18-28-4
Over Bets: 1
Under Bets: 2

Well this one is going all the wrong ways. The Pride have truly struggled so far this season, and I, for one, am not entirely sure why. However, without a large group of wins in the very near future, they will likely come nowhere near the mark here. The few betters who went under, consider yourselves winners now.

Tampa Bay Barracuda
Over/Under 22.5 games
Current Record: 10-11-5
On Pace For: 19-21-10
Over Bets: 20
Under Bets: 0

The Barracuda have stayed right in that middling range of teams so far, and are keeping the betting line very close here for the latter half of their season. However, betters should be nervous, as they need 13 wins in just 24 games, not an easy feat for any team in a league like this. The Casino could win big here if they stay the course.

Texas Renegades
Over/Under 25.5 games
Current Record: 12-11-2
On Pace For: 24-22-4
Over Bets: 1
Under Bets: 4

This one could go the distance. Staying right in the range of the betting line, Texas looks to fight in the West for a playoff spot, and the few betters here have a fun match to watch the rest of this season. Based on their remaining schedule, this really has the chance to be a last sim clincher either way!

Toronto North Stars
Over/Under 21.5 games
Current Record: 8-15-2
On Pace For: 16-30-4
Over Bets: 2
Under Bets: 9

I told you they would win more than 4 games didn’t I? However, 21.5 looks like a long way off for this rebuilder in Toronto. They won a few surprises, including a 1-0 shutout of Buffalo, which proves there is a slim chance they could break this, but I doubt it…

West Kendall Platoon
Over/Under 26.5 games
Current Record: 17-7-2
On Pace For: 33-13-4
Over Bets: 8
Under Bets: 1

The Platoon look like a team destined to make another strong playoff push this season, and their regular season record shows they will likely break this mark without a big trade shakeup in some way. Betters saw this coming it seems, despite the numbers, history is on their side. Their dead last penalty kill is something to worry about though.

Winnipeg Jets
Over/Under 25.5 games
Current Record: 10-10-5
On Pace For: 20-20-10
Over Bets: 3
Under Bets: 0

They have yet to break through and hover in the middle of the West right now. A few statement wins away from moving up towards the 25.5 spot and a possible playoff berth. This could be a fun one to watch, though it looks like they likely won’t hit the mark, needing 16 wins in 25 games to close out their season.

So as we reach the halfway mark of the season, it’s an exciting time for the Casino. We have a few likely winners, a few likely losers, and even more that could still go either way. I’m happy to see the numbers, for the most part, stay pretty competitive and close to the mark, and I hope betters are too. I know betting a sure thing can be fun, but if your sure thing was Tampa or Los Angeles, then bite your nails, it’s gonna be a close one ladies and gentlemen! Buckle up and enjoy the ride!

PT Breakdown - Mid Week and 3 on 3 Addition

Mid Week Replacement

The mid week replacement - a new addition to this seasons PT Schedule. Much like the weekend fun time, however, there was no minimum word requirement. Below is a chart showing every user, in alphabetical order, and the length of their responses. Multiple responses from the same  user were added together. One user was particularly vocal with no negative connotation. We can remove the one outlier with over 200 words (within 5 replies). This user does not represent the median. Taking that data point out we get an average reply length of 16 words.
[Image: OXWH6rTVL2OoVu0beUPMA2Pcdjsz_E79NwYOMtOh...pEQbFAFB6b]
Next is the same graph with an overlay showing those users who had the multiple comments. This shows that there is no direct correlation between the amount of words and amount of posts made by an individual user.
[Image: EX6FwMQmsrSJ6SVbyvXkOpKMkaJeJ-ceYBkTVV1p...qnoY3dwAMF]

Next we changed the graph from alphabetical to numerical order to show more of a trend line. Also, having removed completely the 200 plus word user outlier from the data. This concludes that yes, these users were more active in participating but their replies were not necessarily hefty in word count.

3 on 3 #1Block Those Shots!
3 on 3 #1 Block Those Shots - This 3 on 3 was to choose which team's representatives will have the most combined BLOCKED SHOTS for the day. Below is a pie chart showing how many people voted for which team. The numbers are shown as pure totals and as percentages. This illustrates an almost even split between the teams. Suggesting more of a random guess, hinting at the lack of team biased. This could be due to how early in the season it was.

Lets see what the SHL hivemind thinks on who will be winning shit

For the challenge cups the big guys that the SHL things will win the cup is NOLA, TBB, BUF, and CGY as the main 4 that will win the cup. That makes sense as NOLA is always good, TBB had an amazing season last season. And BUF and CGY are always in the race. The next step down is teams that are playoff teams like MAN, NEW, SFP and HAM, and surprisingly EDM.

Then there are the few that picked teams like TOR, TEX, MIN, and WKP as cup winners

For the western champions there are

Going from the Challenge cup, it makes sense on why CGY and NOLA are there. Some brave soulds in TEX, MIN, and WPG are there too.

And for the east
[Image: KynJGbj.png]

TBB are the favorites, with BUF and MAN there too.

For the Presidents trophy it is something we have seen before, TBB and NOLA keeping their crowns on.

To go deeper this is what the SHL thinks of each individual team and where they place in their division

In the Northwest we see it basically being CGY and EDM between 1 and 2, with WPG and MIN going from 3 and 4.

For the southwest division we have

We see something a bit different. TEX is a clear 4th place in everyone’s books, with LAP holding down the 3rd place, and with SFP mostly holding 2nd place and some 1st place votes too. We then have NOLA having 1st or 2nd in their belt.

For the great lakes

We have BUF strongly being the favorite for 1st, Hamilton strongly being the favorite for 2nd. With TOR and CHI left in 3rd and 4th place.

In the atlantic we have

We see TBB holding down that 1st place strong as they dominated last season in the regular season. We also have MAN strong in 2nd, but also 1st(though not as big as TBB). We also have NEW in either 2nd or 3rd, and then WPG in 4th place.

If we want to go and see where the Casino had the teams and where the SHL hive mind had them(most # of votes we get this)

NORTHWEST
Team - hivemind - casino
CGY - 1st - 1st/2nd
EDM - 2nd - 1st/2nd
WPG - 3rd - 3rd/4th
MIN - 4th - 3rd/4th

SOUTHWEST
Team - hivemind - casino
NOLA - 1st - 1st
SFP - 2nd - 2nd
LAP - 3rd - 3rd
TEX - 4th - 4th

GREAT LAKES
Team - hivemind - casino
BUF - 1st - 1st
HAM - 2nd - 2nd
TOR - 3rd - 4th
CHI - 4th - 3rd

ATLANTIC
Team - hivemind - casino
TBB - 1st - 2nd/3rd
MAN - 2nd - 2nd/3rd
NEW - 3rd - 1st
WKP - 4th - 4th

Theoretically if we stopped the season with 8/9 games, this would be the TPE spread through these way to small sample size
