A lot of people know Brady McIntyre for his on ice skills, but he's generally pretty quiet about his home life. Something that might be a bit controversial is his stance on the cats vs dogs debate. When it comes to 4 legged pets, McIntyre is fully on the cat side. Having grown up with a two different dogs and three different cats before turning 18 he's experienced the highs and lows that come which each animal and he made up his mind quite a while ago.

One of the first things he did after leaving his home and heading to play professional hockey was head to the local pet rescue and find a little furry friend. One trip to the shelter was all it took for him to find a little pal.

His litter was called the Hobbits because they were found in the hollow of a tree, his name was Frodo. He definitely looked like a bit of derp but he fell asleep on his arm and purred for an hour straight. Two weeks later he came home with Brady and became Frodo McIntyre.

Being a cat owner while playing professional hockey player sounds a little tough. You're always traveling and it seems like there just wouldn't be time to form a real attachment to your pet. But general manager at the time, Ace, was kind enough to allow Brady to bring his cat with him on the trips and he got to chill in the locker room and with staff members during the games. Maybe Brady's parents couldn't come to the away games but little Frodo was always in the stands watching.

Little Frodo wasn't able to bring many toys with him on the airplanes and into the hotel rooms for the away games, but he found a way to have fun with whatever was within a paw's reach. If you've ever seen Brady on discord this picture might look pretty familiar.

At first things were a little rough though. Being a little cat he was pretty cautious and never liked to be held when someone that wasn't on the team came in the room. In fact when the Blizzard trade for the huge player Isaac Cormier-Hale he was so terrified that he jumped out of Brady's arms in the locker room and accidentally extended his claws while doing so. That led to a big yikes.

But he got older and has since become really used to strangers and hotel rooms. Funny enough, the first thing he does when we get to a new hotel is go directly to the shower. Maybe because it's the only place that isn't going to small like wet hockey gear?

Years later he's a much more relaxed cat to the point where as long as he has his bed it doesn't really matter where he is what's happening, he'll be chilled out.

But Brady was starting to think that maybe Frodo needed a friend. He spends all of his time around people who are too busy to do anything with him other than give him a few pats on the head. Brady of course brushes him every night after games and plays with him whenever he gets the chance, but it always seemed like he'd be happier with another friend by his side.

So Brady decided to go back to the cat shelter where he met Frodo and it was the same thing all over again. This time the little kitty was named Fleetwood Mac, which was perfect him joining the McIntyre family.

Just like Frodo, Mac was a bit of a derp at first.

But Frodo is teaching little Mac about the way things are in the life of a cat owned by a professional athlete. Things like where the best spots are to sleep at hotels and which players like to give Frodo treats more often than the others. The two have been together for just a season and they're already best pals.

Fun fact, the lady sleeping in the background of that picture used to call Frodo "noodle". Now we have two "noodles", or as Brady likes to call them when sleep next to each other like this, "Pasta".

This begins the noodles presser.

Dude that was a big yikes. Frodo got out the front door and I picked him up, then a huge as dog comes around the corner and he fucks up my hand trying to run away and hide. Little jerk didn't even know what he was doing but that picture was from like a day after it had happened too. Thing was bloody as hell at first.
