The Potato has decided to help Theo in his quest for ROTY by using its magic for increased skill as opposed to being a burden. Theo was able to scrounge up a helper in Higgins’ 2nd of the game, midway through the 2nd period. However, it didn’t give him too much skill in this game. He had a chance to be the hero during the shootout when his number was called. However, he wasn’t able to capitalize on the opportunity and missed the net completely.

Another full game with the Potato for Theo, but unfortunately this time came he came home empty handed. He played 16 and a half minutes while also recording a minute and a half of power play time but wasn’t able to generate anything offensively. In fact, he only had one shot on goal in the entire game. Sounds like it may be close to the end for Theo and the Potato.

My suspicion has come true and only 18 minutes into the game, Theo decided that he’d had enough of the Potato and crushed Dylan Karlsson in the corner of his own defensive end. The parting seemed very mutual as it looked like both the Potato and Morgan had a sense of relief after the hit was given to Karlsson. Theo actually went on to score a goal in this game to put him at 24 points for his rookie campaign. Probably won’t be enough to win ROTY but a valiant effort. Too bad the Potato couldn’t do more for him and his efforts.

Karlsson actually scored a goal midway through the first period in this game and the Potato must’ve liked what it saw. The Potato made the transition to Karlsson fairly voluntarily in seemed and must see some promise in Karlsson. This is the last hit of the season involving the Potato and Dylan will be taking it home for the offseason. Maybe the two can use this time to bond and form a real chemistry. The length of time which they’ll be together could be very beneficial. We’ll have to wait until next season to see what happens!
