The Calgary Dragons made the extremely wise decision of letting Otis B. Driftwood choose the arena music for all circumstances. Otis, being of an older generation at heart, knew he needed to hip the youngsters up to some excellent tunage they may have otherwise been unfamiliar with

The opposing squad is introduced to the theme song from the old sitcom, The Golden Girls, as they are a bunch of old women compared to the Dragons
https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=GWbz_mIAShM

The Dragons hit the ice to AC/DC’s classic Let There Be Rock! , as ballsy a tune as has ever been crooned.

At the end of the period the people can head to the concession stands and bathrooms to The Chats, I’m On Smoko @Avakael

https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=j58V2vC9EPc

After goals the Dragons let Brass Bonanza ring out to the rafters, since no other franchise is wise enjoy ugh to be currently using it @ztevans

When the Dragons need a little boost, they go straight to Iron Maiden, The Trooper, cause you know...,Maiden

When Calgary ultimately wins the game (of course) they let Fly By Night by Rush ring out to the jubilant crowd, because this is Canada, after all and Rush do rule the rockin’ world

The Calgary Dragons already have some of the best pump up songs in the league, so when I was asked to come up with 3 new songs to add to the list, I knew it would be quite a huge undertaking. Here are the 3 songs:

Turn Up The Speakers - Martin Garrix

This song wouldnt br played in its entirety, just about 20 songs before the bass drop and then go on after that. It's a good song and would get the crowd going at the Big Parm

Bring Em Out - T.I.

This song is the perfect song for the team to walk out of the Dragons head into the rink and go to battle against the other teams of the SHL.

KenerationX Theme Song (D Generation X Remix) - Chris Warren

The young defensive pairing of Brennan Kennedy Jr and Chico Smeb has been split up but still goes by the nickname of KenerationX. Chris Warren was nice enough to remake the song for young duo.

Intro - Travis Scott - Astrothunder &Butterfly effect

These two Travis Scott bangers will be played back to back while the Chiefs finish up warm ups and get their name called by the announcer. The feel good vibe goes with the intro and will set a comfortable tone for the fans as they cheer for their Chiefs

Opponents goal - Nirvana - Something in the way

Classic nirvana song that everyone can relate to. Soothing tone to comfort the fans after a detrimental goal scored by their opponent.

Chiefs goal - Kendrik Lamar - B**** dont kill my vibe

A song that everyone can enjoy in the moment of a big goal. Euphoric vibe that makes sense in the moment.

Intermission - FKJ & Masego - Tadow

A jazzy 8 minutes long tune with great flavor.  There's no way fans won't feel this tune while doing their thing and waiting for the next period to start.

End game & 3 Stars - Michael Jackson - Lady In my life (chopped&screwed)

An old school tune that fans can bob their heads to with their loved ones and exit out the arena with the rhythm of the beat.

Terrance Nova goal - DJ Screw - June 27th

Yes, a personal favorite for the fans from Houston and the culture. Nova represents his city and it wouldn't be right without the classic late DJ Screw freestyle.  This song will never loop because its 35 minutes long... instead it will continue through out the season from where it was paused... each time Nova scores a goal.

Brown Sugar - Rolling Stones
A New Orlean's inspired song by one of the most popular rock bands of all time, Brown Sugar would be added to the regular rotation of songs to be played during routine stops in play throughout the game (icings, before faceoffs, etc).

Hate to Feel - Alice in Chains
The opening guitar riff has the perfect feel to it to be played before the start of a penalty kill by the Specters. Thus, it would be added to the rotation of songs used in such an instance, and would fade out as the puck is dropped for the start of the penalty kill.

New Orleans Presidential Shit - Lil Wayne
Another song that mentions New Orleans in it, this freestyle by Lil Wayne is the perfect type of song to be added to the pregame warmup playlist that plays while the Specters are out for their pregame warmup. It is not family-friendly, and thus the clean version of the song (*not* the one in the link, as I could not find one) would be the one that ultimately would be used.

The classic opener to any sporting event Welcome to the Jungle. This is what gets the fans hyped up and ready to chant all night long for their team. Not only that but it also gets the players amped up to play as well. Momentum is everything in the game of hockey and this is right way to start it for your team.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gy8HPSIFXEM

This is the best song you could ever play when a player on the opposing team takes a dive to sell a penalty call. Nothing like saying you suck like a song saying you dove all over the ice to sell a call. It's embarrassing when a player acts like they play soccer and you have to let them know it's not an okay thing to do.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=04854XqcfCY

The classic from the classic band Queen. There is no better song to listen to after winning a championship. There is no better song to build a championship culture. It simply summarizes everything ever wanted when it comes to a championship. Plus, singing this at the top of your lungs in the locker room and popping champagne bottles with your teammates is the epitome of happiness in hockey.

I don't know why anyone would ever put me in charge of the music but lets be honest I am going to do something completely annoying and everyone is going to hate it. Or love it if they are annoying like me.

Pre-game song:
We Like to Party - Vengaboys

What song are you going to use to get pumped other than one that you can't help but smile at. Is it over the top? Probably. Is it going to get old quick? Definitely. Is that exactly what I want to make sure no one ever puts me in charge of this again? Yes.

Goal Song:
The Bad Touch - Bloodhound Gang

Welcome this to the family friendly SHL. I expect to hear from the Head Office quickly when they find out that after the Specters scored all of their goals you immediately get welcomed to "You and me baby ain't nothing but mammals..." Don't get me wrong, it is a good song but is it really appropriate for an SHL arena after every goal?

Win song:
I'm a Loser - The Beatles

Not going to lie. This one is going to cause fights. At the end of every win I am kicking this song on while putting video of the opposing team being upset that they lost every time it says the word loser. If this doesn't make sure that I NEVER GET PUT IN CHARGE OF SONGS AGAIN... I don't know what will.

Written Task: Your teams media department is looking to create an of an and off the ice audio game plan for the upcoming season and they have asked for your help! From pre-game songs.. to in game sounds.. to team media your task is to set the audio for your whole franchise! Post the songs/sounds by either playlist, audio or video links and in 150 words give us your audio gameplan! why did you chose what you did and how will your franchise use them? Will you look to do something that others havnt with your audio playlist? Management is excited to here your plan.. good luck! (*Must have 3 or more songs/sounds to get credit)

Pre-Game Song:
Trap Mike Izzy

This is an unreleased song by Nour Harrak that just flows and honestly is something that is a meme in the steelhawks discord that is only for individuals for people in the discord. It has great lyrics and flows and makes Izzy look like one of the best PT directors ever. Nour is simply just 2 busy 2 produce it right now. It has the same beat as Drake- In my feelings

Goal Song:
Well, we have to go with the classic goal horn that is in every respectable NHL arena, a goal song, in my opinion, is dumb and honestly, the classic goal horn is what I like to hear when the Hamilton Steelhawks score a goal. Its just nostalgic

Win:
We are the champions tbh, probably the best win song ever and honestly there probably isn't a better song out there to flex on ur opponents like this one.

RE: S47 PT #2 - Audio Gameplan - Acsolap - 05-05-2019

The Platoon's audio accompaniment is all.....platoon themed. The 60's was a crazy time with the counter culture movement going head to head with the Vietnam war and this helped spawn a vast array of music.

The walk out music chosen by the Platoon is none other than Richard Wagner's epic Ride of the Valkyries. This instrumental cacophony will strike dread into the hearts of the opposition, psychologically demoralising them and giving the Toonza a clear advantage straight out of the gate.

The teamwide goal music is an automatic crowd pleaser. Enough pep to get even the hardiest soul to their feet. A classic by the well known Trashmen its Surfin' Bird.

Lastly is the song that closes out the night for the team. All the players in West Kendall feel lucky to be playing for such a solidly run organisation. It's probably the best known song by Credence Clearwater revival: Fortunate Son

RE: S47 PT #2 - Audio Gameplan - Carbine - 05-05-2019

So as a player for the New Orleans Specters, my first thoughts for game music are songs that are both ghost-related and party songs. A few come to mind right away.

Intro Music

Billy Talent - Ghost Ship of Cannibal Rats
https://open.spotify.com/track/2x0H3nrhXlaURWfb6S3hvj?si=Td-JaPVqRMCu-HGYVgNnjQ

To be honest, I just typed "ghost" into Spotify for this one. After giving it a listen, however, I think it's the perfect song for the pre-faceoff skate. Rock is a common genre when it comes to arena music and a song titled as such for a team called the "Specters" arriving at the fans' delight just feels right.

Powerplay Music

Kenji Kawai - Utai IV: Reawakening - Steve Aoki Remix
https://open.spotify.com/track/6n20ZfYrFMXPEEgj4BRF8G?si=couRK4wXQ2a6DXB_kNrsUg

Another Spotify search special: the drop in this song (around 1:43) is serviceable as a pre-powerplay hype song, not unlike some other team's DJs musical choices in today's NHL.

Metallica - For Whom The Bell Tolls
https://open.spotify.com/track/17rf2oZYDVymJeYI9ftDXc?si=TtAJS7MWQKeL45m3-l0LEg

I am ashamed that this song did not come to mind organically. For Whom The Bell Tolls is a song that has been heard in many NHL arenas prior to a powerplay and sets the tone perfectly for the home team heading into a two-minute man advantage.

Penalty Kill Music

Ray Parker, Jr. - Ghostbusters
https://open.spotify.com/track/7MnxdIXJd4N4mHCTPNKhkX?si=Pi8fOUhbRhWQwtx9r-3Jng

It's more of a light-hearted jab at the home team than anything else.

Outro Music

Deadmau5 - Ghosts 'n' Stuff
https://open.spotify.com/track/3ezkJgagRPZ39KCTrKcSI7?si=Nz36WC9PT42M7vTJeyfcmQ

I had to.

222 words, minus code.

RE: S47 PT #2 - Audio Gameplan - Kmarko - 05-05-2019

RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE

Manhattan's audio game plan obviously has to be focused around Rage Against the Machine. Mostly because of the pun. Their style melds perfectly into the generic hype up sports music you'd expect at sports arenas, just with a little more edge. The goal song would be Bulls on Parade, again, because of the pun, not the political statement. Killing in the name will be the intro song, cause it gets people hyped the fuck up and everyone in the country knows it. For all the filler songs, we'll find songs with themes of "Bulls" or "Rage", such as "Becoming the Bull" by Atreyu, or "Mr. Rager" by Kid Cudi. It might be tough to get Morello and the boys to sign off on this, because they are probably huge Los Angeles Panthers fans. In that case,we'll just get Jay Z or some New York artist to plug their shit into our stadium's speakers. But we prefer the puns.

RE: S47 PT #2 - Audio Gameplan - Eggy216 - 05-05-2019

For the Calgary Dragons, a staple of pre-game is always Peter Paul and Mary's Puff the Magic Dragon. The song is typically played just after the team has left the ice after warmups - it's not the best "pump up" song, after all. But the fans tend to get really into it.

Every game will start with DragonForce's Through the Fire and Flames playing as the team takes the ice. It's the perfect intro for a team called the Dragons, maybe we could even get some fire shooting up on either side as the team takes to the ice, go quite literally through the fire and flames as they take to the ice.

And post-game, each win is followed by Jerry Lee Lewis' Great Balls of Fire. This is typically played as the fans are filing out of the seats, but again fits the theme we've got going on here.
