Vancouver Whalers: For them it had to be game six against the Montreal Impact, since they did walk away the new S24 Four Star Cup Champions. It is a great honor to win a cup in your first SMJHL season, and it did not come easily for this team. They showed they have what it takes to battle through all the negative things being said about them early on the year. On top of that, they legitimately played horrible during the regular season, but it did not matter in the playoffs...because it's the freaking playoffs. Anyways, they rode on their momentum from their game 5 victory and laid it in hard on the Montreal Impact. Erik Lundqvist had a good night as well, stopping twenty nine of thirty two total shots. Patrikov Bure also had a massive two goal night, and as if this wasn't enough Jack Durden showed up in a big way with two primary assists and a secondary assist for three assists total. What a night for Durden specifically. If this doesn't raise his draft stock, nothing will. Both teams had a power play goal, though the Vancouver Whalers gave up 9 penalties while the Impact only gave away 2. It did not matter, though, and the Whalers ultimately took this one home due to their never give up attitude and a drive to win the big one. Man, JHS is going to be cocky for a while, eh? Better get used to complimenting that good looking motherfucker.

Montreal Impact: Their win against the Detroit Falcons was essential to getting them into the finals, obviously. It was also a huge victory because of the fact that they defeated the defending champions. That one is going to sting for a while. Trust me...I know a thing or two about game 7s.

Task 6 Showdown: (3 TPE)

Robb Wind vs Evandrus Jesster

Both of these players will be incredibly successful in their own right, and comparing them is only natural. The number one and number two picks in the S24 SMJHL Draft respectively, these players will likely be selected one and two overall again this year. It's near impossible to predict who will be more successful in their next year because one or two of them may play in the SHL. Assuming they both played in the SMJHL next season, though, I would have to go with Evandrus Jesster based on his ability to generate points through his playmaking ability. As for his regular season statistics, he put up 19 goals and 24 assists for 43 points in 52 games. History has shown that talented playmakers are pretty consistent throughout their SHL careers, but it's obvious we're not talking about regular prospects here.

Robb wind is a generational talent much like his peer Jesster, and he may edge out the competition if he can establish himself as one of the best goal scorers in the league, something that this winger can certainly accomplish if he is landed with the right linemates and support on defense. In all honesty though, Robb Wind could end up dominating in the scoring department no matter what happens. His regular season statistics support this theory, as he put up 17 goals and 28 assists for 45 points in 52 games. Surprisingly, Jesster had more goals than Robb Wind in his rookie season yet came behind in points. I'm starting to think it's probably a 50/50 chance you'd be correct if you said either of them will best the other in their sophomore season.

1. What does it feel like being a Four Star Cup Champion in your very first SMJHL season?
It feels amazing to lift up the Four Star Cup in my very first season in the SMJHL. It is a truly surreal experience and I take it as a sign for good things to come in the future. We had a lot of doubters this entire season, and it is good to prove them all wrong.

2. How will you plan on celebrating this victory?
I'm planning on going out with the guys and celebrating with them tonight. I wont stay out to long as I'm not that type of guy, but Ill probably head back home and spend time with those I care about.

3. Do you have any final words for the Montreal Impact?
My final words to the Impact is great series. You guys fought hard and gave us a hell of a series. You all are great players and will go far in this league. Look forward to playing again next season.
