Heading into S43, many have already written off the North Stars after a less than ideal off-season, seeing the loses of Jasper Clayton and, the surprise, Bobby Watson. But all is not lost in Toronto, and there are definitely still positives to look to for the upcoming season.
1) Youth - This team is still ridiculously young. 10 players are S37 or younger and there are some premier young talent to look to. The Richan winner Mikhail Lokitonov, Jesster nominee Anders Christiansen, young defenseman in Bergen, Physt, and Emond. That leaves out another key player that I will mention next in... 2) Young Goaltender - Tommy Tuck (@Muford ) is getting to that point, talent-wise, where he is going to start to steal games, which with the losses of Watson and Clayton, is going to be key if this team is going to contend and possibly make the SHL playoffs for the first time since S37. 3) Management - Finally I think that we have a really solid management group. Nobody has proven that he can work wonders with lines as the UK IIHF head, and Symm has made some great moves when the opportunities are there. |
