TASK 1: (Written, 3 TPE)
Most of us did not reach the Challenge Cup finals in S45 which means that most teams have more work to be done. in 150 words or more describe what (or who) your team is missing in order to make the Challenge Cup series. Is it a role on the ice that needs to be filled? Is it a specific player? Is it a locker room leader? Must include a mention of a build attribute for either a specific player that you think would complete the team, or the type of player that you think you could use.

The Calgary Dragons were ready to shock the SHL and make the playoffs after trading away two of their top players. Things were looking good until goaltender Kata Vilde took a huge shit at the end of the season. The same thing happened the prior year, Vilde had a year end slump. Even though his endurance sits at 86 it seemingly may not be enough for Vilde as this pattern keeps appearing at the end of every season. So this offseason he is going to try and maybe max out his endurance to see if that makes a difference at end of year. Vilde appeared to be capable of putting the team on his back and getting them into the post season and maybe with a boost in the endurance category he can lift Calgary back to the status they have enjoyed in the past. Missing the playoffs is not acceptable in Dragon land and Vilde will need to step up his game in the midst of the Calgary retool.

1. Both teams brought in star centers to help them win a challenge cup in S45. Edmonton traded for Joe Kurczewski while WKP added Roman Augustus. Which player will be more valuable for their team in this upcoming series and why?
2. Between both rosters, create an all Challenge Cup starting lineup! (D, D, F, F, F, G) and in 50 words or more explain alittle about your selections.
3. 12 young players (S40 or higher) are competing in this championship series! Which young talent has a chance to capture the spotlight on the leagues grandest stage and why?
4. Between Edmonton's (karlssens and Keygan) and West Kendall's (JR95 and Wongy) which set of GM's have the tactical/Managerial advantage in this series and why?
5. Scout for 1 of the teams in the finals and give them a report on the what area's on there roster can be exploited in the upcoming series.

1. I think that Roman Augustus will prove to be the more valuable player for his team to be quite honest. Nothing against Joe K but Edmonton is a stacked team on a record setting year. I think Augustus is a bigger piece on a somewhat lesser team and I believe that will prove to be more valuable in this series.

This is a pretty amazing team, Schroder leading everyone in points, tanner with points and blocked shots, Tuck an amazing regular season continuing to the playoffs, and the 3 forwards, the main reason this team is so awesome is that they are all former Dragons who have been forged in fire in previous playoff battles for the Dragons which should lead them to the upper stratosphere of playoff performers.

3. I think Florence Clijsters for the Platoon will have a big impact on this series. Clijsters is chipping in some decent scoring as the 3rd line center for the Platoon as well as having a damn fine faceoff winning percentage of over 51. That's pretty damn impressive for a 3rd line and winning those face off battles could lead to a huge advantage for the third line of the Platoon.

4. I think it's pretty much a given that the Platoon will have the tactical advantage since JR is the simmer for the SMJHL. His intimate knowledge of the sim as well as seeing all the different strategies different managers employ and which of those are successful should give him a huge advantage over the Edmonton team. All testing aside it's hard to test for every scenario that JR has seen in his time as simmer so without question the tactical advantage is for West Kendall here.

5. I think the Blizzard should be able to exploit the bottom defense pairs of the Platoon. Bojo is a quality goalie and Schroder and ross are a pretty formidable defense pair but after that the Platoon defense looks a bit shaky with  Karsten Kadinger, Sven Brokstad, Rex Kirkby and Shoyu Kikkoman . They should be able to bring amazing talent against the 2 bottom pairs for the Platoon and be able to generate some definite quality scoring opportunities against these pairs.

Sadley, little Tammy was not the same after the recess peanut butter cup accident of S44. Her parents took her to the pediatrician where they labeled the incident a 'trauma' and prescribed Clonazepam to help Tammy cope.. The doctors visit cost her parents $100 dollars!... how many recess peanut butter cup packs could little tammy have bought with that $100 if each pack cost $2 dollars?

TASK 6: (Written, 3 TPE)
Every player has a bucket list of things they want to accomplish before they retire. In 150 words or more write about the things you have completed on your bucket list and some of the things not yet accomplished.

Well Kata Vilde's bucket list basically has the normal goals, win a cup for the Dragons, win some awards, break some records and so on. I think the biggest item of the bucket list though would be to repeat the goalie brawl Vilde and Walter Hobbs had in the SMJHL finals the one season. Now since we are for now in the same division it couldn't happen in the finals but to have another knock down drag em out with Hobbs in a playoff series would definitely be the highlight of Vilde's career. This time I'd like to actually win the fight though and not knockout the referee swinging blindly. But in all seriousness I'd like to match the accomplishments of the two legendary Dragon's goalies Wong and Hocolate in terms of cup wins and legacy with Calgary, hopefully getting the trifecta of Hall of fame Dragon's goaltenders. Oh and I forgot to beat Esa in a parm eating contest after which i would probably fill that bucket lol.


Task 10 (Written, 3 TPE)
Your player is out of the playoffs! Whether this is because the team didn't make it, or you have been eliminated, or you won the cup, in 150 words or more write about what your plans are for the offseason!

Well as I mentioned above Vilde has been falling off at the latter end of the season for quite some time now. So the goal this offseason is to continue to train, maybe not as drastically as he has in the past and focus more on the endurance aspect. For some reson the amount of endurance that works so well for other goalies doesn't seem to work for Vilde. I'm not sure if it's an issue with his size being too small to endure the rigors of a full season but I think I'll definitely have to work on getting endurance to a higher level to see if that will maybe offset the potential harm that his physical size is proving to be. There's really not alot of answers in the sim so in an effort to try and combat the randomness I fully intend to try and max Vilde's endurance in hopes of stopping the end of season slumps.
