The story of gorlab reaches far beyond the now-ancient meme's he has since turned into. Once a dominating player in the league and dedicated member (if not leader) of the forums, gorlab was given a lifetime-ban several years ago from the community. His player, Steven Jalopski, was retired shortly thereafter for obvious reasons. However, his legacy would (and continues to) live on, as many of his posts are still pinned to a number of different threads throughout the community.

The ending of Jalopski's career was an incredibly sobering moment as well, when during the 27th season of the SHL his player finally made it to and won his first and final Challenge Cup. The story of gorlab spanned 20+ seasons in the SHL and saw his achieve the highest of highs, eventually plummeting to the lowest of lows. Given the recent state of our community, I think there can be a lot learned from the story of Jalopski & the human behind him.
