Shooter McGavin started as a pro golfer who just couldn't win the Green Jacket, no matter how many times he was favored or how big of a lead he had going to the back nine, he would always find a way to lose. One day, after blowing a 4 stroke lead to an amateur, he went nuts, got drunk, and crashed his car. He was banned from golf and lost in life. He met an old friend and got into hockey, a sport that was almost similar to holding a golf club. However, it looked bleak, like he would never get a chance...but then the Raiders came calling to give him a chance. Shooter struggled early in his career and was looking like a lost cause, but after a couple of years in junior things started to look better and more hopeful. After lighting up the pre-season, he got called-up by his SHL team, the Calgary Dragons. Paired with veteran players, he has a solid start to his career, but it was in the playoffs where he made a name for himself. In game 5 of the Cup Finals, tied at 2 games a piece, Shooter McGavin scored the overtime winner, on a team that eventually went on to win the Cup! Shooter was a depth player, but he came up huge when it mattered most, erasing the memories of his prior golf disappointments. Now he looks to be on his way to a core leader of the dragons, and it all started with a second chance.
