Player Name: Mikael Choybuk
6. Controversy
Stepping into the SHL, Mikael Choybuk was relatively unknown. Sure, he was a great player in the minors, but he somewhat struggled through juniors until his final season. He was drafted to the Calgary Dragons, and it was there where sometimes things got a little heated. Whenever Mikael would not get ice time, he would have a hissy fit, and scream things like, "I KNOW MICHAEL BOYCHUK! I DESERVE ICE!". Obviously, outbursts like this did not fly by well with the Dragons, and captain Esa Anrikkanen had to calm him now. The boys threw him in a locker and locked it for a few hours. Knowing a previous SHL veteran star is no reason to give anyone any slack, and the boys in Calgary had to let Choybuk know that. After exiting the locker, MIkael calmed down a lot. He was ready to earn his place on the team after some behind closed doors chats with captain Esa. The Dragons are a close-knit community and there will be no controversy on the team.

Position: Center
Shoots: with eyes closed
Current Team: Buffalo Stampede
Former Teams: St. Louis Scarecrows
National Team: Ireland
SHL Draft: Pick uhhh 12 or 13 in the S38 Draft

Player Career:

Dermot Lavelle spent four seasons of his junior career with the St. Louis Scarecrows which in the end culminated in his first silverware in the form of a four star cup. He would then continue the journey of his career by being drafted by the Buffalo Stampede in the 1st round of the S38 Draft with the 12th or 13th overall pick. Lavelle dropped down draft boards after it became public knowledge of his off the ice concerns, especially those revolving around his public spat with the general Latvian population that occupies within the Simulation Hockey League.

Lavelle has spent his entire career with the Buffalo Stampede and has a been an integral part in achieving their first ever challenge cup in their franchise history, Lavelle has been a consistent 35 - 40 point a season guy for the Stampede and as he heads into the twilight of his career, Lavelle has intentions of altering his play style to be less aggressive so that he can increase the overall longevity of his career.

Lavelle has enjoyed his tenure with the Buffalo Stampede and has no thoughts of leaving any time soon, especially because his contract is locked into S51 because of the slave labor agreement.

Position: Defense
Shoots: Right

2. Playing career: Willie Fisterbottom started his career in Montreal with the Militia and probably shouldn’t have even played for them. He’s not good at hockey. He now plays for the Los Angeles Panthers, who inexplicably drafted him in the first round AND signed him to an extension. Baffling, really.
3. International Play: Willie Fisterbottom plays for team Finland in international play. Apparently there aren’t enough bottom tier Finnish hockey players so they need to scrape the bottom of the barrel here.
4. Honors, awards and achievements: None
5. Controversy: His entire career is controversial and he’s probably known as the biggest bust in his draft class, possibly the biggest bust in any draft in the history of sports, not even just hockey. He makes Nail Yakupov look like Connor McDavid.

Player Name: Tony Pepperoni

Early Life:
Tony grew up in Toronto, Ontario. He is nephew of former SHL player Tommy Salami. Despite their family connection, Tony has been adamant about keeping his distance from the former SHL player. He wants to make his own mark on the league and is afraid the "bust" status of his uncle could affect his playing career.

Playing Career
Tony was drafted by the Colorado Raptors where he won the most under-rated player of the year award. He was taken 25th overall by the Edmonton Blizzard in the S43 draft.

Tony would spend 2 additional seasons the the Raptors before being called up to the S45 championship winning Edmonton Blizzard team. Tony has seen steady improvement in point production and ice time over his 3 year career in the SHL.

Controversy:
Tony has continued to voice his disbelief in salad. It has been the cause of drama in almost all locker rooms he's been a part of and is a continued point of concern.

2. Playing Career

NIHL

Kirkby started off his junior career by playing for the Streatham Redhawks in the semi professional NIHL south division. In his single season with the Hawks he notched an impressive 69 points including 21 goals from the blue line.

SMJHL

At the conclusion of his first season he was invited to North America to enter the SMJHL draft. Coming into the draft as a relatively unknown player he was eventually drafted 42nd overall by the Anchorage Armada in their inaugural season after relocating from Prince George. He went on to record 33 points and 7 goals in 81 games for the Armada before he was traded at the deadline in his second season to the St Louis Scarecrows. Playing in a more offensive role for the Crows Kirkby racked up 4 goals and 15 points in 20 games to close out the season strongly. St Louis and Kirkby went on the the four star cup finals where they were beaten by Vancouver in five games.

SHL

Kirkby was drafted by the West Kendall Platoon 10th overall in the 43rd SHL draft. After his second season of juniors he was deemed ready for the top league and relocated to Florida for the 44th season. Over two seasons in a strong West Kendall team Kirkby struggled to put up much offensively only scoring 5 goals and 35 points in his first 100 regular season games. However he was strong defensively and contributed to the franchise making back to back Challenge Cup Finals although they went on to lose both. His third season saw him move to the first pairing alongside stalwart Ludwid Koch Shroeder and his offensive increased somewhat putting up 5 goals and 25 points to have his best season in terms of production. West Kendall however had a poor season failing to even make a wildcard slot.

Player Career: S44-S45 Colorado Ratpors
S46- now Buffalo Stampede

2. Playing Career
Alexander Selich started his SMJHL Career as the #1 pick in the S44 SMJHL Draft being picked by the Colorado Rapotrs. He finished the season with 28 Points 12 of these were goals and got nominated for the Ron Bolt Trophy which goes to the most Sportsman like player of the season. It was an interesting season as the Raptors managed to go on a run in the playoffs and lost to the eventual Cup winner from St. Louis in the finals.
The season after that Selich had a hot start but ultimately slowed down like the rest of Colorado finishing with only 33 Points of which 17 were goals. This time come Awards season he wasn't nominated for any awards and Colorado lost Semifinals to Detroit after going on another playoff run again. This was already the end of Selich's SMJHL career as he would be called up to the big leagues in S46 where he played on the 3rd line until the Trade Deadline when the Stampede acquired Becker from New England to help them in the playoffs. Selich was relegated to being a benchwarmer and he didn't mind it because the Stampede won their first Cup in franchise history that season.

2. Playing Career

Daniel Smeb started off his pro playing career by dominating the Korean leagues, apparently due to the lack of talent in Korea it was quite easy for Daniel to beat them all, even his brothers. Unfortunately due to not much being known about the Korean leagues we don't have many stats or info to back this up. Daniel eventually made his move over to North America where he was drafted by the Colorado Raptors 54th overall in the SMJHL and had a decent rookie season putting up 23 points in the bottom 6. Daniel was then drafted into the SHL by the Chicago Syndicate 30th overall and immediately made the team and played his first season up right away in the SHL. Once again Daniel had a decent rookie season putting up 20 points while on the 1st line. Daniel is now going into his second SHL season with the Chicago Syndicate.

Position: D
Shoots: R
Current Team: Letgbridge Lions
Former Teams: Halifax Raiders
National Team: Canada
SHL Draft: S47 2nd round, Los Angeles Panthers

6. Controversy

Just a couple of weeks following the SHL draft Thomas Bathory's contract was terminated with the Los Angeles Panthers due to apparent unwritten rules and a very loose term of the word immediately. The league determined that Bathory had conspired with his agent Valterri Bottas and the Panthers to ensure that he would end up in Los Angeles. Bottas stepped down as the Panthers co-gm following a long tenure in the role 2 weeks after the draft. Bottas didnt expect to step down so soon but the league thought otherwise. Apparently the head office has some sort of gripe against Bottas or the Panthers or maybe they just had their heads completely up there own or eachothers asses and came to their ruling. Nobody will ever know but Bathory will not be allowed to sign in Los Angeles for 3 seasons. The important lesson here is that when you're told to do something immediately two weeks later is totally cool. Thomas did well in landing himself a 3 season contract at 16.5 million that will allow him to play important minutes while continuing to develop before eventually joining the Panthers. Rumors state that Bathory has already spent $4,000,000 on weed and cell phone game micro purchases.

Player Name: Viktor Marius
Born: Riga, Latvia
Height: 6'2
Weight: 190
Position: LW
Shoots: R
Current Team: Buffalo Stampede
Former Teams: Buffalo Stampede
National Team: Latvija
SHL Draft: S39

Marius was born in Latvia, in a small farm house out-side of Riga. However, the foray into hockey came when he was 8 years old, having moved to Luneburg, Germany with his mom alter his father had walked out. Marius· mom, of German descent came from a line of hockey players, as her lather, Marius· grandfather, was a stellar player in his own right before retiring early due to chronic knee issues. Without a father figure, the young Viktor became very attached with his grandfather, it wasn't long before a stick was in his hands. Hockey came naturally to Viktor, but where Marius excelled was his determination to be better. Having the guidance of his grandfather and the natural determination to succeed, Marius pushed himself to the limit to be the best player he could. Sadly, the Marius family lost their patriarch to cancer in 2014, the same year Viktor was to make his senior debut for Eisbaeren Berlin. The loss of his role model took a mental toll on the young rookie as the team released him from his contract only a few months into the season. Viktor spent that season looking over the family estate in lieu of his grandfather, forfeiting that year of hockey, but that year of respite might have been the best for Viktor. The break al-lowed him to mourn, be there for his mom, and put things in perspective that he had the opportunity to take care of his family, and be the man his grandfather was. This new found devotion, and the dream to one day provide for his family through hockey pushed the young winger back onto the ice, signing a multi-year contract with his hometown Dinamo Riga of the KHL. Marius spent the next two years posting team highs in goals and points for Dinamo Riga, leading them to the playoffs in his second year.
