Watch an SHL or SMJHL stream on YouTube (S74 Regular Season Day 1): In the first sim of the season seventy four of the regular season Day 1 of the SHL I watched my Chicago Syndicates and Mats Marner for his last opening day of his career. The sim was about fifty minutes long and I focused my attention to see how the Chicago Syndicate would end up doing. The Syndicate would end up winning their first game of the sim five to two against the Calgary Dragons and Mats Marner even picked up the third star recognition with a goal in the game. For Chicago’s second game of the sim they lose four to three in overtime to the Nee England Wolfpack. In the third Chicago game of the sim they lost five to four against the Hamilton Steelhawks and Marner was the second star getting two assists. In the fourth and final game for Chicago this sim they ended up beating the Minnesota Chiefs in overtime by a score of seven to six.

In what ended up as a little bit of a barn burner, QCC drops their first preseason game to the Scarecrows. St. Louis was lead by Alex Hamalainen*, Cameron Dallas and Bog Damsel*** who all tallied 3 points this game. Quebec had 2 multi point scorers, Lean On** and Ryland Murphy, they both tallied 2. It was not a good day for goalies as neither reached the .900 save percentage mark and Song Ju-gong had a sub .800 save percentage.

Second game of preseason saw QCC play the Kraken, another 1 point difference but this one goes in favor of the Citadelles. Supah Dupah* got 2 assists while Rowan O'Beirne*** tallied 2 goals, these two were vital for the win. We also got to see a pretty good goalie performance for both sides, Song Ju-gong and Stan Free both hosted a .910 save percentage. For the Kraken, Walter Melon scored 2 goals while Olivja Agate** got 2 apples.

All in all QCC was very good at keeping games close and in their first game together the chemistry managed to come together pretty quick.

1/17/2041 saw 12 teams in action for the SMJHL. A few of the most notable results were as follows;
 5 - 0 
Stun Gun showed why they are one of the very best goalies in the SMJHL by putting a stop to the red hot Detroit attack and earning a shut out. A remarkable 40 saves boosted the Armada to a dominant victory in an important matchup. Joseph Reed, Lucki Blackwood, Deep Thought, Benny Hanna and Dan Johnston all contributed two points on the night, leading to an incredibly balanced and well rounded performance form the team from Anchorage.

Colorado showed why they are the best attacking team in the SMJHL by putting 12 past St. Louis. While not the most defensively sound opponenet, the fact that the Raptors managed to put 12 goals in off 63 shots is still an absolute attacking clinic. Seven first period goals set the pace for this one, as Nick Kodiak cruised to a 2 goal, 3 assist performance to lead the team.
 5 - 4 
As the Elk battle to work their way into the playoff picture, Maine are working on stopping their skid that has seen them fall down the standings from their impressive start to the season. This was a closely contested battle that Regina managed to secure this one. The second period was key, as the Elk managed to win claim a 3-0 advantage for that section of the game.
