sawyer and andersson are perfect examples of active goalies biding their time until a spot opened up. Sadly, not too many people are willing to wait for the veterans to retire.

Agree that back ups should be used more though.

Yeah there will always be great and dedicated members who make it as a goalie, but I think we should find a way to make the position more attractive for new members. Of course a back-up rule is only one possible step to reach that goal.

Yes, but right now I don't want my team to miss the playoffs by a game because we had a backup who let in 7 goals

Every team is gonna have to play their backups at least X amount of games. It's up to the GM to pick the matchup wisely.

Rule in place now. Every team must start their back-up for 6 games of the year.

being in this position i know who hard it is to stay active during a season where looking at box scores gives u no satisfaction.

And now you can still send them down where they can play every game, which could have also benefited you.
