talk set ups, games etc.

Im thinking of building mine up from a stock computer. I might go Macbook Pro 2012 Laptop and build from that, it'll cost me $500-$600 to upgrade. Any other suggestions? (I dont mind desktops)

I would be against using a mac for gaming purposes for the obvious restrictions that come with it, and the fact that usually they don't have great hardware specs for gaming.
But if that's what you want to do man, go for it.

Yeahthat Plus (and I'm not 100% sure) but I think that certain games on Steam aren't supported on Mac (heard second hand so not 100% sure).

For ~$550, I built my own PC for gaming. I got the OS for free though, so if I had to buy it, I'd have spend ~$100 more, but with that amount of money, it's not hard to build a decent rig.

You are correct, a lot of games aren't supported on mac.
The different OS means that it has to be re-done on that OS, so a lot of games don't do that.
Though, it is becoming less and less of a problem.

I would try to find a cheap laptop with a Windows OS with decent specs.
If you are unsure of what specs are decent, send me a link to whatever you're looking at!
I'll help you out, if you need.

Nothing special, but good enough. I play most games on the PS3, but the ones I do play on PC (L4D2, TF2, GMod, Killing Floor, Minecraft, Metro 2033) all run nicely on it. I haven't tried any really taxing games (Just Cause, Skyrim, Far Cry) or any games on crazy high graphics levels, but it works well for what I want (good framerates, looks good, and allows me to play games that I can't on my laptop).
