Has the league ever thought about the idea of a Canadian Conference vs American Conference?

The SHL currently has 5 Canadian Teams and 7 American teams. (I know there will probably be complaints about the relocation of an American team)

If the idea doesn't pass well with SHL it could be always thought about in the SMJHL.

SMJHL currently has 4 Canadian Teams and 2 American.

The Realignment for SHL could Potentially be:
Canadian Conference:
Dragons

(And a Relocated team to somewhere in Canada)

American Conference:
Panthers

(A team would have to relocate to Canada of course)

Talked about this before, never took off. East vs. West is the best set up.

Also, about this supposed cross-over, stupid idea. Just because your team is in a tough conference doesn't mean there should be a cross-over. You want to make the playoffs? Build a team that can finish top 4 in the conference. It's not a hard concept. So what if a team that wasn't quite as good as another in the other conference made it, that's the way it is. It's not every year that it happens. You play in a conference and battle it out with them. You guys always keep trying to make everything happen exactly as it should.

People want a cross for god knows what reason it happens in the NHL an no one bitchs about it. But welcome to the SHL

Stop trying to make sure the best 8 teams make the Playoffs and start figuring out howto make 12 teams worthy of being in the Playoffs. Stop letting teams tank for a lottery pick year after year and force them to build a competitive team.

crossover is very stupid...don't like it at all

@Schultz - Pack haven't tanked this season...we've actually been trying to make the playoffs all along and thought we had a good chance with this roster while still rebuilding Smile

no change in conference plz this is good conference don't need change and yay for cross over so it's not boring first round match up each season

i like the conferences how they are but no crossover...this is not football and first round matchups have not being boring at all...many upsets in the past few seasons.
