TASK ONE: (worth 3 TPE)

It's halfway through the third period of game 3 in the first round of this year's playoff match up between Edmonton and Texas. Kane has been quiet in the first two games as Edmonton split their opening games at home as he came into game 3 with 0 points in the series. He's come out blazing in Texas however as he's scored 2 goals in the first 4 minutes of this game and now the Blizzard are trying to fend off a Texas comeback as they hold a 3-2 lead. Texas have the momentum as they try to hold on to the home court advantage as Boyka finds a chance to score his second in quick succession but Aittokallio stands tall and shuts the play down. Boyka gets another attempt as they continue pressing for the equalizer. His shot goes wide but Texas retains possession and Carl Mountain gets the puck back at the blue line. His blistering shot goes wide as well as it took a deflection in front. The puck goes back the other way as Edmonton's first line come onto the ice on a nice change. Sarantez streaks in off the wing and snaps a shot off. It rings around to Windsor who waits... skates in... and makes sure to get his shot on target! Ogorodnikov gets a pad on it but Kane's right there to jump on the rebound! Goal! That's a hat trick for the league's regular season leader in points!

TASK TWO: (worth 3 TPE)

Griffin Simons was the Steelhawks' leader in points as Hamilton's top line of Simons-Colt-Clitsome tore up the league this season with 50+ points each, taking 3 spots in the top 6. That whole line has continued that level of play in the playoffs and consequently we have Hamilton making the Challenge Cup Finals yet again despite many pundits betting against them. Simons-Colt-Clitsome are 1-2-3 in playoff scoring with 20-18-16 points respectively. Colt has played the enforcer role on this line as Simons has avoided spending any time in the box, while Clitsome has 1 minor penalty thus far. Simons and Clitsome have combined for 9 hits through 12 games while Colt has amassed an impressive tally of 67 hits. The 30 goal scorer Clitsome has 9 goals through 12 games tied with Simons for the lead and have caused massive headaches for the opposing GMs as they try to find a way to slow this top line of Hamilton down. Hamilton on the other hand have taken the opportunity to ride their top line hard all the way possibly to yet another Cup as the Simons-Colt-Clitsome line average close to 30 minutes a game (tops for any forward in the league). Can Calgary find a way to shut this line down because that's their only hope to stop the Hamilton train that's smacked down WKP and the Stars.

TASK THREE: (worth 3 TPE)

With both the Western and Eastern conference finals series going 7 games there is plenty of pivotal moments to choose from but Game 7 of the Eastern conference finals between Hamilton and Toronto was a nail-biting affair to watch. Toronto, like their western conference counterparts the Blizzard climbed back from a 3-1 deficit to force game 7. Toronto has been dubbed by fans and players to be the cursed team of the SHL as they've iced competitive team after competitive team but have yet to win a cup or find any post season success. Their first round upset of the top seeded Minnesota Chiefs in 4 games raised many an eyebrow as people wondered quietly if this would be the season that Toronto finally break their post-season curse like the San Jose Sharks of the NHL. Toronto go down early in period 1 of Game 7 2-0 but storm back with 3 unanswered goals in the third to take the lead before Griffin Simons manages to equalize. The game goes to overtime and 2 minutes in Dane Rowe makes a bad pass that gets called for icing and Toronto get in trouble in their own zone. This eventually leads to the game winner by Griffin Simons who's led Hamilton all year. If that pass by Rowe was on target perhaps we'd be talking about a historical moment in Toronto history but instead Toronto will continue to try to find a way to break this curse.

TASK FOUR: (worth 3 TPE)

Theo Kane can't believe it as he's won his second Challenge Cup in back to back years as Edmonton have completed a title defence for the third time in franchise history! He's capped off a historic regular season where he tied the league record for points with the ultimate prize. His day with the Cup is spent in Edmonton, his home of 9 years since being drafted in the S21 SHL Draft. The Blizzard alternate captain spends most of the day with his family, friends and teammates at his luxurious home. After the physical and mental grind of the full 50 game season and the additional high intensity playoff games required to win it all two years in a row Kane is relishing his opportunity to relax in a comfortable environment. Nothing too crazy is planned for the day as Brett Broadway's crazy ass party is happening on the weekend. With his contract expiring and free agency looming in a couple months, Kane at this moment wonders if there could be any reason he would want to leave Edmonton. He decides that he'll worry about that later and just enjoy this moment with all the people that made it happen.
