Lose puck is picked up in the neutral zone by Valterri Bottas, who fires a pass up ice.

Pedersen out of nowhere intercepts the pass in the neutral zone, and hits a steaking Bubba Nuck in the offensive zone. Nuck dangling at the blue line, sends a pass over to Randy Randleman, who winds up for a one timer….

Randleman fires the puck at the net through a screen, but Kaspars Tsizling gives up the body to block the shot.

The puck moves into the corner.. Pedersen retrieves it for the Dragons, works the puck out in front of the net, and fires a wrister….. BLOCKED again by Tsizling..

Randleman this time finds the loose puck and fires a low shot towards the net…

OHHH!!!!!!! Just wide! The puck whips around the boards where Nuck retrieves it, looks for an opening and fires another shot at the net..

BLOCKED AGAIN BY TSIZLING!!!! He is everywhere on this shift…

Puck deflects to Pedersen, who deaks and fires the shot on net…

GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAALLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL!!!!!!!!!!

Esa Anrikkanen, the first SHL player to break the 2000 TPE threshold, had a career season this year, his 11th season in the SHL. Esa topped the 50 point mark that has eluded him his entire career. Finishing with 53 points with 21 goals on 239 shots for a shooting percentage of 8.79%. Had Esa not had two mind boggling shooting slumps to start the season and to finish the regular season. He may have passed the 60 point plateau. Unfortunately the shooting slump that Esa suffered in the regular season, has carried over into the playoffs. Through 16 games of the playoffs, Esa is shooting an even more mind boggling 4.76%. Finding the back of the net only 3 times on the 34 shots that he has taken. We all know it is tough to score in the playoffs, but shooting slumps of this proportion can only be called an anomaly. The good thing the Dragons can take from Esa’s playoff shooting slump is that they are tied at 2 in the Challenge Cup finals without their best player carrying the team. Hopefully for Dragons fans, Esa can remember the scoring touch that had him in the scoring lead during a large stretch of the middle part of the regular season. However, Esa will continue to make his physical presence known throwing his body all over the ice, continuing his dominate physical presence in the regular season of 212 hits (4 Hits Per Game), with 50 hits thru the first 16 games of the playoffs (3 hits per game).
