The playoffs are a super exciting time of the season. You know what makes them more exciting? Giving out a ton of TPE!

Here's how this will work: there are five tasks, each of which is worth up to 2 TPE for putting in a little effort, for a total of 10 possible TPE. You can complete them in any order and do as few or as many as you would like.

ONLY S44 SMJHL DRAFTEES (S45 SHL DRAFTEES) CAN EARN TPE FOR CW TASKS. If you signed after the trade deadline, that's not you.

Task #1 - Make a top 5 list for the playoffs. Top 5 goals, top 5 players, top 5 noteworthy people in the audience for one of the games, whatever you want. No word count, but if you just list 5 names, you won't get the full 2 tpe. Be a little creative.

Task #2 - Who's your MVP this season? Can be from the playoffs or the regular season.
Requirements: 150 words and mention of at least one stat.

Task #3 - Create a game-day program cover for any playoff game.

Task #4 - Choose any game in the finals and write a short post game recap. Can be a summary of the goals scored, a turning point, an unsung hero profile, etc.
Requirements: 150 words.

Task #5 - It's officially the offseason. Whether you just won the cup or didn't even make the playoffs, it's time to take a break and look toward the SHL draft. Tell us how you're spending your time.
Requirements: 100 words.

DEADLINE FOR ALL TASKS: 7 full days after the final PBP is complete, 12/20/2018 4PM CST

Top Five Faces in the Crowd, Playoffs Semifinals Game 7: Colorado at Detroit

1.    Steve Yzerman—former star of the NHL’s Red Wings and former General Manager of the Tampa Bay Lightning, Detroit’s favorite hockey son was noted in one of the suites at Jet Blue Airways Arena, chatting with Falcons’ Interim General Manager, @notorioustig. This sighting further raised eyebrows, adding fuel to the fire that Yzerman will be the Red Wings GM in 2019-20.
2.    Yanni Katerinakis—many die hard Falcons fans cheered furiously when the Jumbotron showed their former General Manager @JSS  on hand for this Game 7. The architect of the current Falcons franchise has moved on to the SHL’s Seattle, but was on hand with two of his scouts to take in the game for his first public appearance in Detroit since starting with the Riot. It’s likely he was on hand to get a longer look at some of Colorado’s rookies before the SHL Draft.
3.    Cant Eykhil—the Norwegian forward prospect quietly watched the game, surprising many with his silence. We haven’t heard much hype around the S45 SMJHL prospect with bigger names like Lunga Gumba and Borromini Cannellini carrying many of the headlines so far. Can Eykhil and his agent @linsangeles impress some teams through the draft interview and combine process?
4.    Noro Wozy—fresh off Minnesota’s loss to West Kendall, few were surprised to see one of the Falcons’ all-time greats on hand. @TheWoZy  cheered on Detroit, but also was seen taking notes on a few of the players. Could Wozy have been doing some down low scouting for Minnesota?
5.    Kid Rock—no one cares about this washed out, racist sack of crap. He was hanging in the cheap seats and was forcefully escorted out of the arena after dumping a beer on a five-year old girl, then laughing about it.

Quote:Task #2 - Who's your MVP this season? Can be from the playoffs or the regular season.

While other players may have scored more points or had better personal stats or set records, no player meant more for his team than Colorado’s Scottey Crawfling. In the regular season, Crawfling had the second best GAA (0.899), 4th in GAA (2.84), 5th in minutes played (2342), 2nd in shots faced (1097) and 2nd in shutouts (3). He saw a lot of shots and kept the young Raptors in many games they shouldn’t have been, especially late in the season after the trade deadline.

His GAA (-0.11) and save percentage (+1.1%) improved over last year’s regular season, and kicked into another gear in the playoffs. In 12 appearances, he has gone 8-4-0 with a .918 SV% (1st) and 2.39 GAA (1st-T). The young meme-king Raptors are only as far as they are due to the steady, clutch performance of their star goaltender. If Colorado is able to take down the Scarecrows in the finals, Crawfling will undoubtedly be the favorite for the Brodie Witzel Trophy as playoff MVP.

See here. I'm awful at this stuff and almost couldn't figure out how to change a Pages doc to an image file.

Four Star Cup Finals, Game 3: STL @ COL

Facing a 2-0 deficit coming home, the Colorado Raptors had a lot to prove going into Game 3. Their offense has been inconsistent, made worse by the inability to find an answer for Scarecrows goalie Aleister Cain. After a 15 plus minutes of sleepy hockey where neither team was able to make much happen, the trade deadline finally came back to haunt the Raptors. Former star winger Alex Winters buried his second goal of the playoffs behind Scottey Crawfling at 17:16. Winters then fed Nicholas Williams two minutes later to put STL up 2-0. Once Steven Moyer put a Philip Winter pass past Crawfling on the very next shift, the game and series looked out of reach as STL took a 3-0 lead into the first intermission.

The young, plucky Raptors didn’t give up, battling back to a one goal game 4:07 into the third period, but it was too little too late. The stifling defense of St. Louis paired with all world goaltending by Cain finished the Raptors 3-2. This presented the chance to eliminate Colorado in Game 4, which the Crows did by a convincing 5-1 drubbing. The rookie meme magic ran out, as the current iteration of the Scarecrows clinched their long awaited Four Star Cup.

The keys to the series were the performances of Cain, Winter, and Winters. The pair of past Raptors line mates produced 3-7-10 and 25 shots in 4 games against their former team. Cain will be in the discussion for Playoff MVP after stopping 73 of 78 shots (.936 SV%) in the finals and holding Colorado to under 2 goals in every game.

This season was exciting—no one expected us to make the run we did, but I was able to prove in my first season I’m willing to do anything I can to help the team win. I’m flying back to Germany later today to spend some time back home and visit my family, as I haven’t seen them for a year now. I know I’ll miss the SMJHL Awards Show, but I don’t care much about awards. I’m not likely to be up for anything anyway. I’ll probably do some workouts with a few of my old teammates in Dusseldorf leading up to the SHL draft. My agent has spoken with me a great deal about teams reaching out to him regarding me as a prospect, and he feels I’m a top prospect in the class.

I’m not so concerned where I’m drafted as much as making sure my mother and sister are there with me. I wasn’t able to afford to fly them to Philadelphia for my SMJHL draft, but I promised myself I would save part of my player salary to bring them to America so they can experience my life over here. I grew up with very little, and I want the best for my family.

I’m sure I won’t have much time for peace back home before I have to continue the draft process in North America. After the draft I plan to attend training camp with my new SHL team before returning to Colorado for my sophomore season. Alexander Selich and I have talked about getting away from hockey for a few days after the draft and before camp starts back in our home country. We both miss quality German food, and haven’t figured out how to cook for ourselves!

Is there any way I could have a written task to substitute for the graphic on task 3? I'm really not good with graphics and I'd like to put in the "effort" and earn the TPE anyways even if it means writing more than 150 words or whatever. I know there were options for written tasks instead of graphic tasks and vice versa before, so I figured I'd ask.

As another overachieving wordsmith, I concur on this request. I also think being able to pick between a few of each would be beneficial. Maybe add another writing and 1-2 graphics more? I feel like people have said there were more options previous seasons.

Task #1 - Make a top 5 list for the playoffs. Top 5 goals, top 5 players, top 5 noteworthy people in the audience for one of the games, whatever you want. No word count, but if you just list 5 names, you won't get the full 2 tpe. Be a little creative.

So, the friends and family of America's favourite small town Garrison, Colorado are making a visit to this years Championship Finals. I'll tell you more about them
First off is Colt Bennett who is known to walk around with CFL jerseys in Colorado as he used to play in Canada. So he fell in love with the SMJHL and wanted to surprise his with Abby with a pair of tickets as they work on their marriage.

Next up is Jameson "Rooster" Bennett who is coming out of hiding (we suspect hiding) to catch some hockey as well. Rooster won't join his brother Colt and sister in law Abby for the games as Rooster is scared for his life as he was recently run out of Garrison, Colorado so making an appearance on national television wouldn't be good for his cover.

Tanya Showers the hot weather girl from the region will be at the game and since Kenji Yoshimura thinks she is hot as hell. He will be there too trying to get a date with Tanya.

Task #2 - Who's your MVP this season? Can be from the playoffs or the regular season.
Requirements: 150 words and mention of at least one stat.

Kenji Yoshimura is my MVP of the season because he is simply one hell of an amazing player. Sure he may have not been anyone's pick for a single award.. or even a team award but he is the team's top Japanese point performer putting up 5 goals and 12 points on 3rd line minutes. For someone who was viewed to be a laughing pick this is why Kenji Yoshimura is my MVP. Because quite simply, even though other out performed him. He out performed any expectation that was set upon him by league experts as Yoshimura is not a star in his own. But is doing what he can to help the team.

As well, with Yoshimura not being an all star centermen no one expects him to win 50+% of his draws but he came pretty close at 48-49 percent so that is something special as well. Just imagine if he was something with real raw talent.

Task #3 - Create a game-day program cover for any playoff game.

So, what is Kenji Yoshimura going to do as he gets to sit around bored out of his mind. Well the first thing is he will head over to Team World's camp and get to know the players of the team as he doesn't know any of them so it will be very weird for him. After the tournament he will head home to Japan and just practice and wait word on when and where the SHL Draft Combine and Entry Draft will take place and then head over a week in advance to get readjusted to flying back over to North America and getting adjusted to the changes from Japan and North America. After that, will work with his agent BigTittySmitty on an Entry Level Contract for the next couple of years of his career and go from there.

1. Pornhub - We think this one was a home run out of the park, strike on the lanes and a hat trick on the ice. Pornhub decided to sponsor this seasons finals and did everything in their power to get their name out there. Brief ad quoted to say "We hope you keep cumming to great hockey games like we do"

2. KFC - Goes whose back? Colonel's back. Colonel Sanders, mother fucker. Bringing you the bets, greatest, greasiest mother fucking chicken your hockey living taste buds ever tongue punched. Special game sponsor from KFC, every time a goal is scorer, women in tights yoga pants and perfect outfits throw drumsticks out.

3. UFC - Rumor has it, Dana White is trying to get Connor McGregor into the SHL. While no word or anything on it yet from the media, SHL etc - it's still good publicity for both leagues. Though, come to the SHL, con con.

4. Donald Trump - For his soon to be, upcoming campaign stuff. Never to early to help make america great again!

5. Roseanne Barr - She was fired from her newest series, Roseanne is fucking back - woooooo, because she made some stupid tweet about some chick - likely joking, but also likely not in some weird way. Either way, she's broke, homeless and can be funny when playing herself in a poorer yet realistic version I'd matter. She needs donations from each fan at the game tonight or she'll send everyone nudes on their phones during the 3rd period via a virus. shit run

Quote:Playoffs are good and if you asked me now for an MVP of the playoffs, I'd tell you to hold off until the finale has been finalized. Great teams, good matchups and some solid players on each end. The Falcons completely played the season, 7 points stronger than any other team, so it was surprising for me to learn that their highest ranked player was 7th for points on the season. The highest ranked player, being from Kelowna, was Konstantinin who had 56 through 45 games played. If we're just discussing players, not goalies. He's likely your MVP. He led the league in goals and points, while only getting 8 penalty minutes and did it all in 5-6 games less played. Add 5-6 more onto there and he likely hit 30 goals, 60 points. The race would be close. He wasn't as physical ass other candidates, but he's my guy.

If you're adding goalies in, which you would but I wanted to separate them because sometimes one or the other gets a little biased for voting, but Robinson was the best with a 29-9-6 record, .904% (5 higher than 2nd,  Scottey Crawfling) and a considerably lower GAA than the other. Though, with these records, I'd still hand the MVP award to Konstantinin of Kelowna.

Quote:Right now? It's disappointing to have the season I have and then to also lose in the playoffs earlier than we like. It's understandable the season I had, I'm new - I'm learning the ways of the game over here and am adapting my skills to adjust quicker. Next season, I'm expecting more results from me. So in saying that, this off-season I'm going to put my nose down and really push myself to become an even better player. I know where I'm slated to go in the draft and am actually hopefully surprised. I'm happy to have the opportunity to play in the SHL and SMJHL and will represent it and the organization I am drafted by extremely well.

Again, head down - focus on the game, myself and training - and just be better this off-season. Of course, some minor relaxation, ha. Some sight seeing and spending time with friends and family.

Top 5 Playoff players ( at least one per team):
#1 Scottey Crawfling (COL) - One of the most impressive playoff performances by a goalie in the SMJHL Playoffs. He literally dragged a young Raptors team to the finals but it sadly just wasn't enough to beat STL.
#2 Bernard Freeman (STL) - A clutch player with the most game winners in these playoffs. He also had a lot of points considering his ice time on the winners of the Cup. Another consideration was Nicholas Williams but the Center simply wasn't as clutch as Freeman.
#3 Eero Niemi (ANC) - Niemi tried to do the same thing that Crawlfing but it just wasn't enough as his impact as a Forward is limited. Great production for his ice time and the best players on the Armada in these players.
#4 Willie Fisterbottom (MTL) - The Montreal did his best to keep his team in the playoffs but Crawfling was just too good against them. Nonetheless Fisterbottom had a good offensive production as a Defender on Montreal considering his ice time. He even tried to ignite his teammates with a fight but it in the end it wasn't enough.
#5 Noah Nowes (VAN) - Also a fairly clutch player with some great contributions to his team in the whole playoffs. 2 Game tying goals and 13 Points while averaging 19 ice time is some great stats for one of the most underrated players this season.

Task #2 - Who's your MVP this season? Can be from the playoffs or the regular season.

My playoffs MVP is an easy choice and it might be a homer pick but I don't care. Scottey Crawfling, this man carried a very young Colorado Raptors team to the playoffs and showed some incredible performances. He averaged 90.8% Save Percentage facing 110 shots more than the next goalie. Sadly his standout performances didn't get much appreciation by our sim engine as he didn't get many first star nominations these were reserved for players that scored the game winners in these close games were Crawfling just saved a ton of shots. You rarely see a SMJHL goalie with a save percentage of over 90% that's why this is so outstanding for me. Another point is the strength of his team and how many shots he actually faced. As for the regular season I don't think that anyone really standed out that much on the Skater side maybe McCarthy who managed to get in the top 5 for single season assist with 41 so I would maybe give the honor to him.

Game #20 COL vs MTL
The Colorado Raptors won this game with 4 to 3 against the Montreal Militia. The Rapotrs got the first goal thanks to newly acquired defender Veikka Toivanen on a PP after Andreas Kvalheim got 2 minutes for hooking. The Assists were goalie Scottey Crawfling and Center Konstantin Voloshin. The Militia managed to turn the game just 2 and a half minutes later with 2 goals by Boris Denisovich and Willie Fisterbottom. The 2nd period was the turning point of the game with Colorado scoring 2 goals one by Enforcer Tim Murda and Power Forward Lillie Jacobs. The nail in the coffin was done by rookie and former #1 overall pick Alexander Selich with his 4th goal of the playoffs assisted by Nico Wallner and Keegan Angello. Montreal got one last goal in thanks to Willy Mack which was actually a short handed goal which is rather rare. I would say that Scottey Crawfling was one of the unsung heroes of this game with a 91.2 Save percentage.

Task #5 - It's officially the offseason. Whether you just won the cup or didn't even make the playoffs, it's time to take a break and look toward the SHL draft. Tell us how you're spending your time.
Requirements: 100 words.
Alexander is just going back home to Buffalo where his family now lives thanks to his big brother Eduard. There he gets some lessons from his older brother about how to become a great professional in the SHL and how to behave in his send down seasons. They will laugh about the similarities they had in their SMJHL rookie season. Being drafted to a young team that makes a playoff run but ultimately fails to hoist the cup. Alexander will do some draft interviews but everyone knows that he will picked in the 2nd round by his older brother's team the Buffalo Stampede. Alexander is looking forward to joining a franchise that his older brother Eduard spent 13 seasons with. Alexander is also thinking about transitioning to the role of a defender in the SHL if that is even needed.

Top 5 Noteworth People in the Audience of Colorado Raptors vs. Detroit Falcons Game 3

1. John Elway - One of the biggest celebrities in Colorado, John Elways showed his support for the local junior hockey team by showing up in the stands. He seemed to enjoy his time as the Raptors went on to win.
2. Von Miller - Another big Colorado celebrity and Denver Broncos affiliate, Von Miller joined Elway to take in the game. In his trademark glasses and a strange orange suit. He really stood out in the crowd.
3. Lindsey Vonn - Legendary Women's Skiier Lindsey Vonn was seen with friends taking in the Colorado Raptors win against the Falcons. She looked to be dressed up and ready to hit the club after the contest.
4. Jake Jabs - Local Furniture Mogul and celebrity Jake Jabs joined us for a game at the Pepsi Center. He brought a baby tiger for kids to pet at halftime and handed out flier for the American Furniture Warehouse Christmas Sale.
5. The Original Steve from Blues Clues - Don't know why this guy was here but he showed up. Maybe he's a big Raptors fan. He was seen wearing a Novak jersey and petting what seemed to be an imaginary dog.

Boris Denisovich is the obvious choice for MVP for S44. I would say given his high scoring, 55 points in 50 games, and the highest hits and block totals for the top league scorers, he is a shoe in for league Most Valuable Player. Not only did he continue to perform on a team when traded earlier in the season, but he kept up Vladislav Konstantin, missing the scoring title by only 1 point, and played a much more well rounded game. I don't think there is a choice other than Denisovich. I think a lot of people will vote for Konstantin based on his goals being higher but there is no reason otherwise. He is a one dimensional player that does very little other than play in the offensive zone. Boris Denisovich better win Most Valuable Player or a lot of people will be angry. We will see what happens soon though. But I have a feeling I am right.

Writing about the SMJHL finals is a sore subject for Konstantin as he lived a heartbreaking 0-4 sweep to the St Louis Scarecrwos. But being forced to talk about a game, he will definitely bring up Game 2 of the SMJHL Finals where the Colorado Raptors took the St. Louis Scarecrows to Overtime where the series truly went for the worst. The Colorado Raptor's Alexander Selich leveled the game with 8 minutes left in the 3rd period. With this goal the Raptors saw light at the end of the tunnel and thought they could bring this series to a 1-1 tie but in Overtime, forward Bernard Freeman put in the game winning goal halfway through the OT period and sealed all hopes of the Raptors winning the series. All air went out of the young team that had been streaking up to this point. This is the SERIES TURNING POINT and the biggest blow to the young Raptors in the finals.

Task #5 - It's officially the offseason. Whether you just won the cup or didn't even make the playoffs, it's time to take a break and look toward the SHL draft. Tell us how you're spending your time.
Requirements: 100 words.

Most SMJHL rookies will head home for at least a month, especially with the Christmas season coming up, but Voloshin is bringing his family into the Mile High City. They plan to watch plenty of Basketball games, as Voloshin's brother loves the game, and the Denver Nuggets have been phenomenal this season. There is much to be done for the holiday season and Konstantin Voloshin and his family will finally get the chance to properly explore the city he calls home at the current moment. Preparing for the SHL draft will be an important step for the young Ukrainian as well. Konstantin still has zero clue where he will be drafted but he has a few choices he would prefer. San Francisco and West Kendall would be great places to land, as well as the big apple and Manhattan. Either way, he will have a busy time coming up and there is no rest for one of the fastest up and coming SMJHL players.

Task #1 - Make a top 5 list for the playoffs. Top 5 goals, top 5 players, top 5 noteworthy people in the audience for one of the games, whatever you want. No word count, but if you just list 5 names, you won't get the full 2 tpe. Be a little creative.

Quote:Top 5 Slip McScruff Moments:
  1. Slip goes +1 in the final game, giving him a positive rating for the playoff run.  Did he do anything on the play? No, his partner Gordie Maple got the secondary assist on the opening goal though.
  2. Slip plays 1 minutes of Penalty Kill in the final game.  He touched the puck twice on three penalty kill shifts.  Did anything interesting happen in that minute? No, but that is kind of the point of the PK.
  3. Slip "intentionally" sets up a goal in game 3.  Near the end of the first, Slip McScruff takes the zone, only to be crushed by Rolly Rollerson.  This was all part of the plan, because that free puck slid right over to Bernard Freeman.  Pass to Alex Winters, tic. Pass to Nicholas Williams, tac. Goal by Williams, toe.
  4. Slip lulls the Raptors into a false sense of security in Game 2.  7 minutes in, Slip McScruff gets called for Hooking. 7 minutes and 30 seconds in, Lillie Jacobs scores a Power Play goal to tie the game.  Game 2 winners though? The Crows.
  5. Slip proves it was all a trick, going +1 in overtime in Game 2.  Remember that false sense of security? Slip McScruff and Bernard Freeman reset the game with an icing.  Nicholas Williams does his Center thing and wins a face off.  Classic Williams, Freeman, Alex Winters tic-tac-toe goal to win it.  All part of the plan.

Task #2 -  Who's your MVP this season? Can be from the playoffs or the regular season.

Quote:That's a tough choice for me.  On the ice it would definitely be uh... Nicholas Williams because he was uh... a great leader.  He stepped back from being a pure Winger in order to make room for our late season trades.  While the other Wingers were doing their normal uh... Winger training, Captain Williams was busy training his face offs against Steven Moyer.  I can't imagine working to get that spotlight, then giving that over to some new uh... spotlight players who were just joining the team.  Then, this absolute madman goes ahead and dummies us anyway, leading the team in playoff scoring with 14 points from the center uh... position.

However, off the ice, I need to give the uh... MVP distinction to Bernard Freeman.  What he did was so simple, but it uh... meant a lot to me as a rookie in my uh... rookie season.  I remember that day when he came into the locker room and came to each of the rookies individually to make sure we replaced our crappy hand-me-down gear with league standard equipment.  When I picked up my new Bauer Shoulder Pads, I couldn't wait to get back to the locker room and show him.  I want to be that guy for the next batch of rookies who come into St. Louis with their dad's beer-stained, over-sized pads on.

Quote:SMJHL S44 Finals, Game 2: COL @ STL
The Scarecrows had just completed a 3 game comeback against the Whalers and took the first game from the Raptors.  They were looking to make it 5 wins in a row and keep the momentum going but the Raptors were proving to be very resilient.  The Crows took the lead 7 minutes in, but the Raptors tied it up 30 seconds later off a Power Play given to them by Slip McScruff.  The Crows took the lead again 4 minutes into the 3rd, but then the Raptors tied it up 9 minutes later.  It was the game of Nicky Pedersen Jr vs Alex Selich, both involved in all regulation goals for their team and leading the game into overtime.

Looking at the shots during regulation time, the Raptors had 20 shots to the Crows' 17.  The game was neck and neck with the Raptors having the slight advantage.  As it turned out, this would be the closest the Raptors would come to leading the Crows in any game this series.  Bernard Freeman scored the OT winner, and besides this close call, the Crows never had less than a 1 goal lead (after the scoring open of course).  It's safe to say that this was the turning point of the series because Freeman cemented the Crows' momentum to take the the cup with a 7 game win streak (out of 8 wins total).

Quote:Who said anything about a break?  My good pal SD from the SIM Herald was just announced as GM for Team USA in the WJC.  I'll be too busy carrying his slack on international ice to be thinking about taking a break.  I've only met a few other players on that team, but ya know, we're uh... a team already and they're gonna rely on me to protect them and keep them uh... protected.
SD has been telling me to do a presser or talk to the media about the upcoming draft.  I guess that's not a bad idea, but like doesn't he know that I've been straight ripping at the gym?  Sure the only milestone I hit this season was smashing heads, but the SHL team that's into that kinda thing will come knocking.  Especially when the Crows take home this cup.

Top 5 Crushed Falcons Fans

1. The young boy who is crying - This poor, young, die-hard can't handle the loss. He is bawling his eyes out while his mostly drunk dad tries to console him and eat what's left of the kid's hot dog.

2. The angry and confused middle aged woman sitting right behind the Detroit bench - "What? What! No. No! No way, jose. How? I can't. I mean. We were so....what?!? WOW! Just wow! Unbelievable."

3. The guy who is secretly pumped cause now he has an excuse to fight someone - The game was already an excuse to get absolutely plastered on a weeknight but he has been gifted the ultimate excuse to start a fight with some Colorado fan because his team lost a game. Watch your back on the stairs Raptors fan!

4. The guy who is so sad he is walking around the arena drinking the last sips out of all the beer cans and cups he can find - Now that his team is out of the playoffs he has no direction in life. There is a void that can't be filled until the next season starts. All this warm and mostly backwash beer won't fill it but it will help.

5. The guy who painted his body with a group of friends but can't find them or his shirt now that the game has ended - You just hate to see this. Wandering around too upset and loaded to think clearly. Just shouting for his friends instead of using the phone that is in his pocket. A sad night in this man's life.

Task #2 - Who's your MVP this season? Can be from the playoffs or the regular season.
Requirements: 150 words and mention of at least one stat.

MVP
It is always hard to choose an MVP. Nobody ever agrees because everyone has a different idea of what is valuable to a team. In my opinion, you should go with the guy who won you the most games and in my humble opinion that player is Cedric Robinson of the Detroit Falcons. Robinson was a wall this year. He was the only going to break a .900 save percentage. He led the league in nearly every goalie category: a 2.65 GAA, most minutes played, most shots faced, and most WINS. This guy faced the most shots in the league and still had the best stats. He backstopped a defensive group made up of three rookies. A lot of guys can score goals in this league but far fewer can stop them like Robinson can. He was a man on a mission this year and deserves to be MVP.

Now it is time for assistant coach's alley with lifelong assistant coach Ron Derry. Ooo boy let me tell ya about this kid, Aleister Cain. This a good ol American boy who can stop the pucks like no other. Coming in here to St. Louis, first game of the championship series and he posts a shutout. Hoo boy it doesn't get much better than that. The guys in the other locker room are going to have more confidence in the rest of their games with a goalie they can believe in backing them up. Can we roll the clip? Here comes Voloshin, European guy don't get me started on them, anyway here he comes he has speed and this guy can shoot. I mean he can shoot but watch here, Cain has his eyes on him the whole; he ain't biting. He stays square to him and Valvoline never has a chance. Look :desk tap: if you want to win championsips :desk tap: you need a good ol  American made goalie back there for ya. Aleister Cain go get 'em :desk tap:

Well, I am pretty disappointed in our early exit from the playoffs. I thought we had all the goods we needed to win the championship after our season of dominating the competition. It was a good lesson that the regular season means absolutely nothing once the post season starts. I won't have much time to pout over the loss, however, because I have been asked to represent the United States in the WJC. It is a total honor to be selected to represent the USA and I hope we can win. After the WJC, I plan on just getting some rest in before the next season starts and make sure I am rested, healthy, and ready to go.
