Goalies Goalies Goalies
#1

(double media week word count 2030 before writing this)

Your buddy Atlas H. with a little bit of that draft goalie talk going on little blurb about how i feel about the goalies and where they were drafted.
Side note on the draft i do wonder how the expansion draft players feel. Do they feel betrayed by their team for choosing them? Are they jaded to be on these teams of rookies or do they look hopeful to the future? Honestly i just straight up asked my locker room.

1. Aleksi O'Koivu-VolkovMilitia 12
A russian hybrid goalie with and excellent style sporting a quick glove and almost just as quick reaction time but sometimes struggling to move around the goal. Aleksi became the first goalie picked up in the draft
as a 12th round pick by the Montreal Militia. An easy choice for first choice a constant contender for the top 5 of almost every catagory in the prospect showcase there was no doubt that he would be an early pick.
an excellent goaltender with a long history in hockey im sure the militia are proud with this beautiful 12th round pick.
2.Casimir Stevens  Whalers 34
A hybrid goalie hailing from canada Casimir Stevens was the next to be picked up in the draft 22 picks after the last goalie. He sports a very even set of skills a great all arounder with a slight upper hand in in style, hand speed, and reaction his hand speed and style arnt quite on the same level as Aleksi but he does sport some exellent skatting skills and rebound control to round him out. Casimir although standing just over 6' struggles to use his size in net as im sure some other goalies do but he makes up for it with some fine agility not an amazing match up with a 1 on 1 with some good D Casimir can almost hold off an army. A well known trouble maker in the draft class we may soon see alot of trashtalking and rivalrys coming out thanks to this goalie.
3. Jakub Hasek  Falcons 38
A goalie from Czech Republic Jakub Hasek is another hybrid and the 3rd goalie picked up in the draft. Drafted by the Detroit Falcons he shined in the prospect showcase sporting the second highest wins as a goaltender and the best Goals Against Average before the playoffs. Jakubs hand and reaction time are on par with our other top picks he also sports a stronger reaction time but like aleksi he struggles to move around on the ice sometimes. All in all im sure the Falcons are very happy with this pick and expect alot from this expirenced player.
4.Tibuk Soonika  Outlaws  40
Tibuk Soonika the first true greenhorn to be drafted comes as the 40th pick and the first goalie pickup by one of the new teams. Tibuk is a stand up who uses size, style, and reaction speed to shut down would be scorers down. If you manage to get him down though Tibuk is not the most agaile fella. Our second canadian goalie to get drafted he stands and impressive 6'4 im sure we will be seeing alot of activity from our greenhorn on the outlaws as they picked up 2 rookie goalies this draft. Are the outlaws looking for a solid line up coming next season or will our rookies surprise us and break out in their for professional season we will have to wait and see.
5.Peter Larson  Armada 43
Peter Larson another true rookie was picked up by anchorage as their 43rd pick. Larson is a butterfly goalie from Denmark who was recruited by a more expirenced player. Does he have conections is he a sercet spy for his recruiter who knows! What we do know is that the man has a very rounded style no real weakness the man does not stand too much higher than most other goalies in anything as well. His well rounded style may turn our to outshine his competetors and we will see how he improves as training for the next game starts. Either way im sure anchorage will have no worries with this safe pick.
6.Yuri Ushakov  Raptors 44
Yuri is an expirenced player from latvia with a butterfly style. He specializes in keeping rebounds to a minimum and making sure hes always in the right place at the right time hard to catch off gaurd his glove will always be in the way. Yuri is another one of our very rounded goalies a little trouble moving around on the ice he will for sure be a name to look out for. Im sure the raptors will be happy with their draft and will look for consitent results in this consistant prospect lets hope he can deliver
7.Mike McKorsy  raiders 47
Mike McKorsy is a german hybrid goalie with a weakness in agility. Picked up by the Halifax Raiders as the 47th draft pick with some suprisingly good ability to handle the puck and use his size in net better than his hand speed or style control if you let McKorsy get the puck you are not getting it back. Im sure the raiders will be happy with this draft and I hope to see great things coming from Mike as he works hard to make his one of the names that continues to stand out from this draft class
8.Patrice Nadeau  Lions 59
The 59th draft pickup by the Lions is their first goalie pickup in the regular draft . A Reddit draftee Patrice is a hybrid goalie from canada specializing in reacting quick to the puck clamping down on it and keeping those high shots in the glove. We dont know why he was left so late in the draft perhaps the lion being created right before th draft didnt have time to properly scout their goalies. Or perhaps they felt confident they could build a team focused on making sure their goalies dont have to stop many shots which could make this and easy season for Nadeau as long as he keeps focus and stops what his team lets through.
9. Mike Hunt  Outlaws 60
A real surpised Mike Hunt was picked near last of the goalies in the draft. Mike had no real hopes of going 1st out of goalies picked but some of his draft mates had even put him in their top 5 of goalies in the class. Perhaps just a talkitive fellow his fame was greatly exaggerated going from rookie favorite to thinking he might end up a free agent this draft. Still picked up before the half way point Mike went to the outlaws as the 60th draft pick and the second goalie chosen by the outlaws. Like the lions we dont know if they had time to scout goalies this draft or not but either way this fan favorite did not make it into the eyes of the Gms. Mike hails from austria with a little known fact that just hours before the draft mike participed in some intensive traing changing his style into that of a hybrid goalie with the beloved tops Style control,Hand speed, and reaction time as his strengths.
10. Billy Sorokin  Scarecrows 67
As we get closer to the end here we have Billy Sorokin a russian hybrid with a very rounded set of skills. He apreaso to be adept in style control, reaction time, and hand speed with the ability to endure longer games then most of the other draftees Billy looks to win this war of attrition against the rest of the draft class. he has some trouble moving around the ice and his levels of control compared to some of his peers is the only real thing that kept this goalie from being picked much further up the draft. Lets hope he makes the scarecrows proud.
11. Low Temp  Knights 101
Low Temp the last of the hybrid goaltenders to be chosen this draft was snatched up by the Kelowna Knights. Low Temp is an american goalie who like many has trouble moving around the ice rocking the trio hand speed, reaction time, and style control Low Temps stats are very rounded and could be used to make a big splash in season to come and i look forward to seeing how this late pick progesses.
12. Junebug Langdon-Wray  Lions 136
Last but not least be have Junebug a New Zealand butterfly goaltender was snatched up by the lion to be their final goaltender. With strengths in rebound control, Style Control, and hand speed Junebug like some of our later picks also has a well rounded style having some trouble using his size in net. Junebug appears to be very proficent at shutting down skaters 1 on 1 which could make him a great shoot out goaltenders for the lions to use. either way i do home they are happy with this pick and see alot of growth from this young rookie i do wonder if himself or Patrice will end up taking on the starting role.
