Following today's Day 2 Stream of the SHL Playoffs the SHL Head Office was notified of an illegal roster decision made with New Orleans' lines that broke the rule stated in Section 1, Subsection G, Article 1 of the SHL Rulebook. The rule reads:
In their most recent game the Specter's left their 3rd line centre spot blank by moving their 3rd line centre to the 4th line. FHM's process when reading blank spots in the roster is to rotate all available players of the blank position in throughout the game based on who on their bench is the least tired. Doing so circumvents the rule listed above to prevent teams from double shifting players in the lineup and maintain 9 unique players in your top-9 forward lines.
As such the punishment to the New Orleans Specters is as follows
- New Orleans will be fined $4,000,000 to their S54 Salary Cap.
- General Managers @JKortesi81 and @TheDangaZone forfeit their GM Pay for the S53 season.
- New Orleans forfeit their S54 2nd round pick.
- Both General Managers will be placed on a 1 season probationary period. Any further roster-related infractions from their management group will result in a dismissal of both GMs.
Given the nature of this situation in the midst of playoffs, and the SHL Rulebook's lack of clarity in terms of suspension for an infraction of this rule, this punishment will be the precedent for any further infractions, at least for the remainder of the S53 Playoffs as we continue to discuss and making adjustments to the SHL Rulebook in the FHM Era.
