RE: S47 Championship Week - ztevans - 06-04-2019 TASK 1: You are at the airport awaiting a flight to meet back up with your team after spending the day being honoured as a 'Hometown Hero' in the place where you grew up! Tell us about your day... what did they have planned for you? Who did you see there? What were you given? How did it turn out? ... In 150 words or more, tell us all about this big moment as hometown hero. There are no hometown ceremonies for Nikolai Evans. For one, he most certainly was not a hero in his rookie season in the SHL, with just 11 points and a negative plus/minus to his name. Also, he doesn’t really have a hometown. The closest Nikolai has to a hometown would probably be Winnipeg, the long-time home of his father Zach Evans who played 14 seasons with the Jets. However, you have to do more than merely reach the SHL to impress hockey fans in Winnipeg who have seen some of the true greats in league history (and are still witnessing one of them currently in Jason Visser, his 58-points season a lone bright spot in a down year for the Jets). Nikolai’s mother was also the accomplished, albeit well-traveled, Ekaterina Rudnikova, a former McBride winner who played for four different teams in 11 seasons. Needless to say, Nikolai doesn’t have deep roots in Manhattan, Seattle, Edmonton or Texas. Oh, and he also plays for Russia and doesn’t represent any of these places whatsoever. Alright, good talk. TASK 5: After trading off there best players and declaring themselves in a full rebuild back in S45, The Calgary Dragons have made it to the S47 finals.. just 2 seasons later. Choose: ('No surprise', 'mild surprise', 'major surprise' or 'in shock') and explain why. No surprise. For one, calling it a ‘full rebuild’ is a bit of revisionist history. Yes, Calgary lost the likes of Joe Kurczewski and Roman Augustus, but the Season 45 team, not unlike this season’s Western Conference Champions, featured the likes of Mike Izzy, Hunter Jones, Shooter McGavin and Otis B. Driftwood to name a few. Also, spoiler alert, Steelhead’s a pretty good GM. Every time people say Calgary is going to fade, they come roaring back. Yawn. TASK 9: Which organization that didnt make it to the finals would you consider to be the biggest disappointment? What do you think are the main reasons why they fell short this season?(Must be 150 words or more) Not to beat a dead horse, but Minnesota fans have to be terribly disappointed with how Season 47 has gone in every sense of the word. Yes, some regression had to be expected after the Season 46 Chiefs exceeded all expectations with heroic performances from its top line. With that said, falling from one of the best teams in the league to a lottery contender was a massive fall from grace, with not a single Chief reaching point-per-game status in Season 47. If that weren’t bad enough, the team fell apart internally, with several players leaving via trade, announcing retirements and so forth, taking a shallow team and making it even shallower. To add insult to injury, Daco’s now-infamous media piece copped the team a serious tampering punishment, which I sincerely hope will be appealed to a lesser infraction but is still undoubtedly a black eye to an already battered and bruised team. Task 11: (Written, 3 TPE) Writers on the internet have jokingly tossed around the following playoff roster idea: "when a team eliminates another team, they get to claim a player from that eliminated team to join their roster" Pretend the SHL has adopted this rule this postseason. Pick one of the teams in the Challenge Cup final and pick any player from a team that they've eliminated to add to their roster for the finals. Why did they choose that player? How will this player help out? Where will they play in the lineup? (must be 150 words or more, *tag all players) I’m about to mess with all your minds, alright? Calgary would pick up Demaricus Smyth for the Finals matchup. But Zach! Calgary didn’t play New Orleans! You’re right, disembodied voice from the void. After a first-round bye, the Dragons defeated the Edmonton Blizzard and Texas Renegades to face the West Kendall Platoon. BUT, if the rule is applied for the entire postseason, then SURELY the Renegades would have taken Smyth after eliminating the Specters in the Western Conference Semifinals. He’s the league’s leading scorer! And going into a Challenge Cup Finals matchup against one of the hottest goaltenders in the league, Calgary would have absolutely pounced at the opportunity to add some offensive firepower. Thus, it would have come to pass that Demaricus Smyth would have played for three different teams during this playoff run. At which point, the rule would undoubtedly be changed to only allow a player to be selected once by this rule over the course of a single postseason because we’re not allowed to have fun things. Oh, and Smyth might still be short a Cup if he couldn’t solve the Beaujeaux Biscuit riddle in this hypothetical. Life ain’t fair. @Blastmeaway TASK 13: (*CASUAL MEMBER SPECIAL* Send answer in PM, up to 3 TPE) Its trivia time with 4 questions related to our Challenge Cup participants! 1. Who is the all time goals leader on the West Kendall Platoon? 2. Who won Calgary's Jesster Award (Team MVP) for season 46? 3. Who are the current 3 captains per there team info page (C, A and A) on the West Kendall Platoon? 4. What is the name of the stadium where the Calgary Dragons play there home games? **Important**: Send the answers to username "PT Director" with the subject of the message titled “#Tigole-Trivia" do not send it to my personal account cause i will not look at it and you will not recieve credit for it. RE: S47 Championship Week - jaimeac - 06-04-2019 TASK 01: After the Outlaws big 4 star cup win the team paid for me to go back to Australia to show off our hardware. I'm not gonna lie I've got some pretty horrific memories from my time in the Australian outback but it was nice to go back and get a different view. I spent my time being paraded around, you've gotta understand that Australia has never had much achievement in hockey and for a hometown player to play an important role in the second biggest hockey trophies win was pretty important. I was given a parade and got to invite a few of my teammates along so I brought McCloud and Seger we had a great time. Also Hugh Jackman was there was Mel Gibson which was weird because I had the sneaking suspicion that I knew him from somewhere. After the parade we ended up just bar hopping with fans a few bars were ready for us and had Outlaws decorations up. Hugh Jackman wouldn't stop singing songs from Les Miserables which was a little annoying but what are you gonna do the guy's wolverine. All in all pretty good time I guess. 194 words. I believe the tactical advantage here has to go to Steely and C00kies, because of their overall success in the playoffs over the past era. Those two have brought a lot of cups to the Dragons history books, but you certainly can't count out Wongy over on West Kendall. He was once in the dressing room of the Dragons with Hunter Wong winning cups there, so maybe he has some inside information? 3. West Kendall has relied heavily on Beaujeaux Biscuit so far, and I think he far and away should be the MVP. Now that the finals is over, he has a 12-2-1 record with a 94.1% in saves, which is pretty huge for a playoff performance. As far as unsung hero goes, Rex Kirkby I think takes it home for the Platoon as well. Kirkby was a +9 throughout the playoffs, but was not one of the top point getters for the team, and he even put forward 18 shot blocks, while being a big PK also. 4. Like said before, Beaujeaux Biscuit. The finals will come down to goaltending, and I think with Biscuit's performance heading into the finals, he will be the difference maker throughout it. It will be him versus Kata Vilde, and Biscuit will have a hard job on his hands while facing Calgary's top scorers, but if he performs well then they will take it home. 5. I have to go with 'no surprise' here. I mean, really, they drafted Mikael Choybuk, so they will be solid for many seasons. Seriously though, look at that head office? Steelhead is still there, and he brought so many cups to the Dragons over the seasons, so I am not surprised at all that him and the other guys in head office were able to put the right pieces together to get there again. 7. I do not think it is too surprise. 'Mild surprise' for me. While they did regress, I think their players have been known to perform in this sim, and even Biscuit has been incredible in net in these playoffs. Anchored by Beaujeaux Biscuit and Louie Garrett, along with Ludwig Koch Schroder, that will always be a very solid team. I had the honour of being chosen as one of several Hometown Heroes in Dublin, Ireland recently, alongside a number of my Irish national team teammates. The celebrations were fairly extensive, as we celebrated the national team's run of five straight IIHF World Championship gold medals, of which I have been a part of the last three. A giant projector showed clips of our wins including highlights of goals, saves, hits, and of course, us hoisting the World Championship trophy and receiving our gold medals, all set to dramatic music. We had a meet-and-greet with the ever-growing number of Irish hockey fans as well as a number of prominent figures and politicians, and a good time was had by all. At the end of the event, we were invited to a banquet honouring the success of the national team program in bringing Ireland from a nation with almost no hockey presence to being a superpower within the span of just a few years. As well, it was a great opportunity for a few of us to catch up before we traveled to this year's World Championship. Task 5. 1) I think this series will belong to West Kendall when all is said and done. They took an already deep lineup with a great goaltender and added even more quality depth, and I suspect that even Calgary's momentum in surprising everyone by getting this far will not be enough to overcome the machine that the Platoon have become. 2) Both GMs have won championships and pushed their teams as far as they can go both this season and in the past. Saying it's a wash is kind of a cop-out answer, but in a way I don't necessarily see this series coming down to tactics over comparative roster strength. West Kendall has been an incredible team more recently though as Calgary briefly faded, so if I had to pick that would be my answer. It's a toss-up, though. 3) I think Calgary's MVP is without question Otis B. Driftwood. He's been carrying them all year from the back end and is providing the full package that you could want from a defenseman. He put up a monster season offensively and has been a huge part of their surprise run, and if they're going to win, it will be in large part because of him. 4) I think Beaujeaux Biscuit will make the difference. He's possibly the best big game goalie in existence, as we've seen both in the Challenge Cup playoffs and international play time and time again. When everything is on the line, Biscuit is the guy to come up with the extra save that makes the difference. Considering the strength of the team in front of him, I think his play will be what breaks the hearts of Dragons fans everywhere. 6. I think Nat Emerson of the is going to start getting some recognition as one of the best young shutdown defenders in the game. I believe he recently just put up one of the best +/- seasons of all time, and having witnessed his strong play in Detroit, it doesn't surprise me at all that he's continued playing his steady, solid brand of hockey on the biggest stage. @Thelastheraclid 7. I don't think it was ever accurate to claim that the West Kendall Platoon had ever fallen off. I think it's pretty obvious that they just had an uncharacteristically bad year, but even some of the people working on fancy stat projects showed that their possession numbers were still top-tier. Regression is a thing but it also isn't a magic button that makes great players bad, it takes time and their window is still very much open. It doesn't hurt that they acquired even more top talent. Task 13: PM sent Task 9: I think Buffalo is likely to be the most disappointed with bowing out in the playoffs. As the defending champions, they still had an extremely strong roster and another year of development under their belts for some of their younger players. They were consistently one of the top teams all year and by all rights were more than capable of repeating as Challenge Cup champions. However, they had the misfortune of running into a similarly strong team. With that said, to be the best you have to beat the best, and they failed to do so. With how great their S46 championship run was and how strong their regular season was, I think it would be hard for them to see losing to anyone in the playoffs this season as anything other than a huge disappointment. With that said, they're still in a good position moving forward, and it would not shock me at all to see them take this experience and use it to propel themselves to new heights. Task 12: I think that the adversity West Kendall faced was all of the doubt surrounding the team after last season. Coming off of several seasons of strong play and championships, to have a down year of that kind must have been soul-crushing. With some of the players on the roster aging, I can imagine that even in the face of evidence suggesting the team was unlucky, it might have been tempting to wonder if the window had closed and a rebuild was nearing. To their credit, they not only believed that the current group was good enough to open the window back up, but so much so that it was worth adding significant pieces via trade to go on another run. That faith in their team was rewarded, which is admirable - it would have been very easy to concede defeat at the hands of regression and start thinking about the future. They overcame those questions and proved that they were still a force to be reckoned with. RE: S47 Championship Week - karlssens - 06-05-2019 Task 03: Selected in the S46 entry draft, Karlstraße has now completed 3 seasons in the juniors and is ready to take the next step. Coming off the best season of his young career he finished the year with 37 points, leading his team in defensive scoring. Through 3 seasons he's collected just shy of 100 points showing his strong offensive upside. He also led the league in powerplay points showing he's equally deadly on the man advantage, something that should help in his transition to the SHL. One area that may be concerning however is his defensive responsibility. Finishing his most recent season with a -25 rating, the worst in the league, he certainly has some room to improve. Fortunately for him he joins one of, is not the best, top 4 bluelines in the league with the Edmonton Blizzard. Names like McIntyre, Tuck, Kalju and the recently retired Tanner and Chiclets should be able to help him refine his game quite quickly. Task 05: 2. History is certainly on Calgary's side. Steelhead and cookies have built some tremendously successful teams over the last 2 decades and have the hardware to prove it. I'd have to give the advantage to JR and Wongy this time around though as recent history strongly flavors them as shown by their 5 finals appearance in just 7 seasons (8? either way impressive stuff). 5. Honestly any team other than Calgary and I'd be in shock, but the Dragons are known for getting the most out of their lineup so I'm going to "downgrade" it to a major surprise. They have several big pieces, but the depth is definitely lacking when compared to their peers. They are certainly trending in the right direction and this playoff push bodes well for what is likely to come for the Calgary based squad. 7. They went out and acquired some big pieces to make a strong indication they are win now and the moves paid off. They entered as the top team and looked convincing in round 2. Buffalo was a tough matchup in round 3 and honestly could very well have won and it wouldn't have shocked anyone, but with them out of the way I think it's a far stretch from a shock to see them in the finals once again. 8. Both goalies have performed well to date, but you can't put anyone side by side with Beaujeaux right now. Sure it helps to have a star studded team in front of you, but what he has done through 2 rounds of games is nothing short of incredible. With 8 wins and a sparkling 0.94 save percentage he's damn near unstoppable and should make a very convincing case for most valuable player of the playoffs. Task 09: Toss up between the New Orleans Specters and Buffalo Stampede here. Both made it all the way to game 7 of the Challenge Cup finals last season and followed up with strong performances again the S47 regular season. Entering the playoffs they each had a strong case to repeat as the conference winner and they both failed to make a repeat appearance in the finals. If I had to pick one though I guess it would have to be New Orleans. Whereas Buffalo would meet their demise to the eventual Challenge cup winner in round 3, the Specters failed to exit the second round after a heartbreaking loss to the Texas Renegades. No disrespect to the Renegades as they'd eventually go on to finish the playoffs with the top 4 scorers in the playoffs despite failing to make the finals, but I think most of us had New Orleans cruising back them on their way to another Challenge cup final appearance. Especially when you take in to the consideration the monster of a regular season they had. Task 11: Of the two teams in the finals that made it all the way to the finals I believe Calgary surprised a lot of people. They have some tremendous top end talent like Mike Izzy, Otis B Driftwood and Maksimov as well as a few very promising young guns like Rainbow Dash and Chico Smeb, but the depth is definitely not as impressive as some of the other teams in the league, especially on the blue line. That being said I think Calgary would benefit greatly from scooping another teams defender. Two names that come to mind are Brady McIntyre from the Edmonton Blizzard, the team Calgary defeated in the conference quarter finals, and The Dude from the Texas Renegades, a team the Dragons defeated in the conference semi-finals. Both of these younger defenders have yet to hit regression and have had their names tossed around when in comes to seasonal awards. Top earners from the S39 and S38 class respectively, they would go a long way to helping solidify Calgary's blueline for this post season run and beyond. @caltroit_red_flames @Dude TASK 13: sent. RE: S47 Championship Week - xDParK - 06-05-2019 Task 01: (Written, 3 TPE) You are at the airport awaiting a flight to meet back up with your team after spending the day being honoured as a 'Hometown Hero' in the place where you grew up! Tell us about your day... what did they have planned for you? Who did you see there? What were you given? How did it turn out? ... In 150 words or more, tell us all about this big moment as hometown hero. Chico Smeb is absolutely huge in the country of South Korea, even with the other Smeb brothers out there, they don't even come close to CHico. Think PK with the Subban brothers, that's similar to the Smeb situation. Of course it was a massive day in Seoul. Everyone is so proud of their elite SHL player. Chico has inspired many young Korean children to get into the sport of hockey. Hockey was not popular at all, but recently it's skyrocketed in popularity thanks to the Smeb brothers. This day consisted of large ceremonies in the main streets of Meyongdong. Chico was given a parade with millions of people on the streets watching. They even closed down all of downtown just to accommodate Chico. It was a huge success, but the next day Parker Smeb had the same ceremony with only about 20 people showing up, meanwhile Kit and Daniel didn;t even get a ceremony, so it's clear who the most popular Smeb is. Words: 170 1. Breakdown this finals matchup for us, how will it play out? who will be the stars of this series, what will the outcome be? (*tag anyone involved) I think CGY is outmatched on paper to be honest. If we're just looking at TPE totals then WKP has the big advantage other than in net, where it's pretty much even. If CGY doesn't take one of the first two on the road I can see this series being over pretty quickly. I'm going to say WKP in 4 2. A major managerial showdown is about to take place Between WKP's (Jr95, Wongy) and Calgarys (Steelhead77, C00kies) which set of GM's have the tactical/managerial advantage in this series and why? All 4 GMs are amazing, that's why they are playing in the finals right now. I think they all have a similar style, but the disadvantage goes to CGY because of how young they are in their rebuild. Other than that, I think they have a very similar style of how they manage their teams. 3. Which player in the finals should be considered their teams playoff MVP and which should be considered their teams unsung hero thus far and why? Playoff hero should be Vilde for CGY. He's been a rock back there the entire playoffs and is the biggest reason CGY is in the finals. Unsung hero is definitely CHico Smeb, the young sophomore has been playing so well these playoffs. Just check out that plus minus, and also chipping in offensively. 4. Which player do you believe will be the differance maker in their franchise winning the title here in S47? I think Dani Forsberg is such an elite scorer that he will make all the difference for WKP. He's on fire right now and is one of the deadliest scorers in the game. If WKP wins the title he's going to be my MVP unless Bojo wins it, which is fair as well. 5. After trading off there best players and declaring themselves in a full rebuild back in S45, The Calgary Dragons have made it to the S47 finals.. just 2 seasons later. Choose: ('No surprise', 'mild surprise', 'major surprise' or 'in shock') and explain why. Mild surprise because they had such an amazing draft in S46. They got two players in bk and dpark who immediately stepped into the SHL. That's so rare these days and shows the talent they got in the draft. With all their young players' development it's not a major surprise that they have found themselves in the finals already. 6. Which young players in this series (S42-S47) have a chance to break out and make a name for themselves here in the Challenge Cup Finals? (*Tag that player) Chico Smeb for sure. He had a quiet sophomore season after a solid rookie season, but his playoffs have been amazing thus far. Expect him to break out and make his name known heading into next season. Maybe even drafted to some fantasy teams as a late pick, we will see soon enough. Task 09: (Written, 3 TPE) Which organization that didnt make it to the finals would you consider to be the biggest disappointment? What do you think are the main reasons why they fell short this season? (Must be 150 words or more) Chicago was definitely a big disappointment. THey are already pretty far into the rebuild so I think they should be competing by now, especially with elite GMs like Velevra and Ofer. I really expected them to make it to the finals out of the west to face us, but it was a shame. I'm pretty sure they fell short because of the Smeb brothers' performances in the playoffs. All were absolutely terrible in the playoffs and didn't help Atmey at all. They also have no goalie so that's a big problem for them going forward. I expect them to make it to the finals next year if the Smeb's can get their heads in the game. Other than that I think the Specters disappointed a bit, they really should have gotten past Texas to face Calgary in the WEst finals with that roster. Next year could very well be an expansion finals between the Specters and Syndicate which would be unreal. I'll be rooting for both teams next season if the Dragons happen to get eliminated. RE: S47 Championship Week - Otrebor13 - 06-05-2019 Task 3 I’ve been in the SMJHL for 2 seasons now and the prospect of playing the SHL is slowly coming up. I’ve been improving these past two seasons, but I don’t think my game is anywhere close to where I want it to be for the SHL. That’s not to say I don’t think I’m good enough, but I don’t just want to be an ok player, I want to stand out and be the best. I think the main areas of concern are likely my strength and my endurance. In the SMJHL, these are pretty equal for all players and. However, in the SHL playing against veterans who have been there for many seasons and will have the upper hand on you isn’t easy. They could easily knock me off the puck and the game is much faster, and I think I might die out too quickly. While I know it’ll come soon, leaving behind the Whalers and my teammates there is very unfortunate. I think we have one of the best groups of guys and having to play against them will be fun, but not as fun as being able to win with them. Let’s hope this season gets us that elusive four star cup. Task 5 2. A major managerial showdown is about to take place Between WKP's (Jr95, Wongy) and Calgarys (Steelhead77, C00kies) which set of GM's have the tactical/managerial advantage in this series and why? It is tough to choose just 1 of these groups of GMs, however when looking at the track records, it’s hard to go against Calgary’s duo, especially Steelhead. He’s been GMing for a very long time and his success speaks for itself. When it comes to GMs, he’s as good as they come. 4. Which player do you believe will be the differance maker in their franchise winning the title here in S47? I guess it’s a little bit strange writing this after the finals have been completed, but I would have to say Biscuit is the X factor. We all know WKP can score goals. The firepower on their team is deep and they stacked up on a ton of great players throughout the season. However, if you let in too many goals, it doesn’t matter how many you score. Even though WKP can outscore anybody, this is the Challenge Cup Finals and the games are tight. Having a great goalie who can steal games is the key. 7. The West Kendall Platoon are back in the finals after a season out of the playoffs and a team that was in serious regression Choose: ('No surprise', 'mild surprise', 'major surprise' or 'in shock') and explain why. Mild Surprise: I went with mild surprise. Although the Platoon’s great players are getting older and in regression, they knew their window was now and went out ad acquired absolute studs this season (Sophia Bennet, Joshua Woodcroft). You need that veteran leadership and even with regression, the players on the Platoon were not showing any signs of slowing down. I commend the management team for going all in and doing what they had to do to win a Challenge Cup. 8. Star netminders Kata Vilde and Beaujeaux Biscuit have both carried their teams into the finals. Which franchise goalie has a better chance to carry their franchise to a title? Once again I’m going to talk about Biscuit. Both are fantastic goalies, however as I mentioned in a couple of my responses, the depth that West Kendall brings to the table is something that is going to be tough to deal with and will likely give Vilde a hard time. I think the experience and the leadership of the Platoon give Biscuit the best chance of winning the cup, as I think both goalies are equally talented and capable. Task 11 It’s not easy to simply pick 1 player when there are so many that got eliminated at the hands of the two finalists. However, I think the Calgary Dragons could have used a little bit of an offensive touch. That’s why I have decided that if this rule was in effect, the Calgary Dragons should have taken Luke Atmey from Texas to join their roster. Luke was one of the SHL’s best offensive producers this season and nobody can turn down that kind of production. With the way Biscuit played in the finals, Calgary could have used that goal scoring ability to help them break through. Atmey is such a dynamic player that he could have easily played on any line, but likely would have been most effective playing on the 2nd line. Keep Calgary’s top guns together and have him match up against a slightly weaker combination of players. This would create a tremendous mismatch and would have one of the top lines out against a weaker opponent. Task 12 Obviously both teams had to fight extremely hard to get where they are. However for the purpose of this I have gone ahead and looked at the West Kendall Platoon and their road to the finals. While it looked to be a breeze when the playoffs got underway, the platoon had work to do. They may have swept their first playoff series, but it wasn’t all going to come that easy. Many might say the Platoon were heavily favored to do well this post season, and that may be true. However in the conference finals they went down and were on the brink of elimination. It’s not always easy to overcome that when you’ve never been there, and having swept the prior series, they didn’t know what that adversity felt like. However, they managed to make it through and as they were rolling it just looked like they weren’t going to stop Task 13 PM Sent RE: S47 Championship Week - Boomcheck - 06-05-2019 Quote:Task 01: (Written, 3 TPE) Cameron grew up in Halifax as his father coached in another league, that has since become defunct, but this allowed him to watch high quality hockey as a youth. His last two seasons had caused quite a stir in his hometown, given that it is a close knit community. It was not some flashy affair, and more formal if anything. A major managerial showdown is about to take place Between WKP's (Jr95, Wongy) and Calgarys (Steelhead77, C00kies) which set of GM's have the tactical/managerial advantage in this series and why? I believe this is pretty cut and dry with a case made for the Platoon. WKP has a lot more depth and pieces to play around with. The thing about tactics and the such is that you generally need a solid roster through out to do well. Calgary, although impressive, does not have the fire power to keep up with West Kendall. Though I was wrong about them in my predictions, I don't expect their run to continue much longer. Code: 80 words 3. Which player in the finals should be considered their teams playoff MVP and which should be considered their teams unsung hero thus far and why? Mike Izzy is an elite two way center and does it all, logging over 24 minutes a game as a forwards. People may question this since he isn't leading the team in points or anything, but he has been snake bitten. Just because he doesn't convert on all chances, doesn't mean he isn't producing them. He is still an elite face-off taker if anything. Unsung goes to, drum roll please, Driftwood. People don't agree since he has been playing great but overall as a player I notice he is often overlooked. This guy is a premier defensive defenseman in the league and it is a travesty if he doesn't get nominated this season. Code: 110 words 4. Which player do you believe will be the difference maker in their franchise winning the title here in S47? Rex Kirby. Yeah, I know he has only scored 4 points in the 11 games leading up to the finals but he is still a complete stud. He is overshadowed by LKS but is their top pair defenseman as well, logging heavy minutes. He has the potential to break out in the finals and be on the biggest stage. He is playing some heavy hockey right now and putting his body on the line. That's a difference maker. Code: 60 words 5. After trading off there best players and declaring themselves in a full rebuild back in S45, The Calgary Dragons have made it to the S47 finals.. just 2 seasons later. Choose: ('No surprise', 'mild surprise', 'major surprise' or 'in shock') and explain why. Major surprise. They have been a model franchise for a while so it isn't quite a shock, but it is definitely a surprise that have gotten this far. Izzy has been an elite 2-way center and has a 'solid' forward supporting cast, though their overall defense is a little suspect. Goalkeeping is a great boon to any team that can manage to keep them in good form. I did not expect them to get through Edmonton, but they did. Oh well. Nola? I doubt many people had them going over them and it left me very confused. Which is moreso on Texas, but it all factors in to contributing to Calgary's success. The Dragons have definitely been a complete surprise in S47 as they continue their magical run. Code: 110 words 7. The West Kendall Platoon are back in the finals after a season out of the playoffs and a team that was in serious regression Choose: ('No surprise', 'mild surprise', 'major surprise' or 'in shock') and explain why. No surprise? I mean they had tough competition in in the east with Buffalo but other than that? Not really. Manhattan got upset by Chicago, but both teams didn't have great underlying metrics heading onto the post-season and Toronto over achieved. The only real hurdle in the way was Buffalo and once they got dealt with? Pretty smooth sailing. They aren't JUST regression pieces and have strong players still in their primes. Code: 70 words 8. Star netminders Kata Vilde and Beaujeaux Biscuit have both carried there teams into the finals. Which franchise goalie has a better chance to carry their franchise to a title? Beaujeaux Biscuit. I do not doubt Vilde in a head to head case, but goaltending carry generally involves the team too. If they are at even, Kata has a way bigger load to carry since their team is not as good as Biscuit's. Biscuit has the easier of the two jobs and SHOULD be able to redeem himself after last season's debacle and show that he can be a winner. Code: 70 words Quote:Task 09: (Written, 3 TPE) Easily New Orleans. Some say Buffalo but WKP is a worthy adversary. NOLA dropping dead to Texas? Oof. When all the chips were on the table? They choked. Many expected them to be in the finals and either win the damned thing or at least make it interesting. What do we get? Them getting blasted in 7 games by a Texas Renegades team that was not a their level all season. Disappointing? This was devastating. NOLA had a 3-2 lead with TWO MINUTES LEFT ON THE CLOCK! The game was about to end in 2 minutes! No power play. No nothing. They let one go in and it's tied and guess what? It doesn't even get to OT because Texas scores the game winner with less than a minute left to go. Disgusting. Code: 163 Words Quote:Task 11: (Written, 3 TPE) I don't believe the Platoon need any help whatsoever so this will go to the Calgary Dragons. They went through Texas and Edmonton, both teams have key players but we will select an absolute legend from the Renegades. Louie Garrett is one of my favorite players ever and I believe he would be a great addition to the Calgary roster given his heroics against New Orleans. I think he can play 2C 5v5 and join Izzy on the PP since he has experience on the wing from his days in Seattle. Louie is one of the elite goal scorers of the past decade and is a proven commodity. This forced Nicky down to the third line and can emulate the depth WKP has. Instead of relying on a good 1.5 lines they can stretch it to 2.5. Much closer to WKP's 3. (*tag anyone involved) It is the classic story of the Unstoppable Force vs the Immovable Object. On one side, the phoenix rising from the ashes in glorious fashion in the Calgary Dragons who went from zero to hero in the matter of a few seasons after starting and seemingly ending a massive rebuild for the organization. On the other side, you have the West Kendall Platoon whose record more than speaks for itself, not the most talented team, but far and away one of the grittiest and never say die attitudes there is in the sport of hockey. 4. Which player do you believe will be the difference maker in their franchise winning the title here in S47? Mike “The Murderer” Izzy has amassed quite the reputation for being big in big moments, and as we know there is know the time to shine like Primetime. Izzy has the ability to rally the troops, keep them focused and combine to make great plays from out of nowhere. There is a reason he is universally targeted and does not mind the pressure that is applied to him on any given night. 5. After trading off there best players and declaring themselves in a full rebuild back in S45, The Calgary Dragons have made it to the S47 finals.. just 2 seasons later. Choose: ('No surprise', 'mild surprise', 'major surprise' or 'in shock') and explain why. This is not a surprise to anyone who knows anything about Calgary, their culture, their management or the organization. Rought times tend to bring out the best in people, and with people doubting Calgary after their announcement of a rebuild, the key players finally stepped up and decided that they weren't going to wait for some big name to show up and help them and that they had a deep run in them all themselves. 8. Star netminders Kata Vilde and Beaujeaux Biscuit have both carried their teams into the finals. Which franchise goalie has a better chance to carry their franchise to a title? Its not easy or often when two very talented and extremely differential making players start against each other, its even rarer when they get that opportunity in a full series. Kata Vilde has been lights out up to this point, however, there is a chance for Beaujeaux Biscuit for stealing the spotlight, but until then Kata is the goalie to beat. Task 09: (Written, 3 TPE) The Manhatten Rage was all the hype with all the prospects that they had acquired. They were hyped to be contenders going into this season, but as fate would have it, the hockey gods deemed it fit for them to be dealing constantly with on and off ice issues that lead to a management nightmare for the front office. There is only one thing to say about a collapse of one of the potential front runners falling to the wild card and not only not putting up that big of a fight but also being knocked out early. So much hype, so much promise and all you can deliver is a sad excuse of a product that ultimately lost them the series. Do you want to grow your fan base? How about you stop attacking make-believe dragons in your fantasy world and show up to the ice to compete. You get what you deserve. (I'm not being serious, channeled my inner Urinating Tree to make this easier for me to do) Task 12: (Written, 3 TPE) The Calgary Dragons have the unlikely position of having adversity for their cup run. This adversity being the mayor of Calgary who decided to change the parade route that they have always done, breaking with a long-standing tradition. Mike Izzy was seen pacing the lockerroom heated after hearing the news. “This is uncalled for, breaking with tradition is like asking us to be cursed to not win this year.” Izzy was then seen kicking several perfectly lined up trash cans into low earth orbit. The Parm was alive and well with the team bringing in a record number of people to cheer on their ever successful franchise. The General manager was reported to be “mellow” about it all, reportedly due to having eaten a beautiful parm right before the news was delivered. One of the potential call ups, Bernik Vrzala, who will be playing for the Whalers in his fight for the cup, said that it sounded like a pretty bad idea. @ TASK 13: (*CASUAL MEMBER SPECIAL* Send answer in PM, up to 3 TPE) Completed 16/16 TBD RE: S47 Championship Week - FlappyGiraffe - 06-05-2019 Task 1: simulation hockey league defenseman gary grease of the simulation hockey league club the winnipeg jets has recently been honored in his hometown because of his simulation hockey league star player status. Gary Grease's hometown is in manitoba, which is in fact the exact same canadian province that gary grease's simulation hockey league club the winnipeg jets is located in. This means the the simulation hockey league star defenseman gary grease of the winnipeg jets did not have too long of a plane ride to get to his hometown. Gary grease's hometown planned a game of tag, which was very fun. Gary was not very good at the game of tag though because he was tired from his flight to his hometown. They also gave gary some free hotdogs to eat, as he lost some energy after the game of tag and needed some food. All in all, it was a great day for simulation hockey league defenseman gary grease (of the winnipeg jets) and his hometown that is located in manitoba. Task 5: 1) this finals matchup in the simulation hockey league is between the two simulation hockey league franchise known as the west kendall platoon and the calgary dragons. These franchises are located in florida, and in alberta. These are in fact two different countries which is pretty slick if you ask me. I think mike izzy will be the star player in this matchup, he has great physicality. @ 2) i think that the simulation hockey league franchise known as the west kendall platoon holds a tactical advantage here, over the simulation hockey league franchise known as the calgary dragons. this is because their general manager JR has been to many finals the past few seasons, and knows what it takes to win. 3) i think that the mvp in the finals matchup between the simulation hockey league franchise known as the west kendall platoon and the simulation hockey league franchise known as the calgary dragons is cross fit jesus. this is because cross fit jesus ended up scoring the OT winner, and has already won 3 challenge cups before this finals. also your overload is underrated for calgary 4) i think that the difference maker in this matchup between the simulation hockey league team known as the west kendall platoon and the simulation hockey league team known as the calgary dragons is gonna be bojo biscuit, because i have seen first hand how he can take over a finals and sweep out a team a couple seasons ago in s43. 6) i think young defenseman acsolap rex kirkby will be making a name for himself in the finals. this is because he is the first person I could think of that is between s42-s45 on either team, and that is one of the requirements for this task. Also, hello @Acsolap there we go thats all the requirements on to the next one 8) i think that the simulation hockey league goaltender known as bojo biscuit who plays for the simulation hockey league team known as the west kendall platoon has the edge here in the finals, over the simulation hockey league goaltender known as kata vilde who plays for the simulation hockey league franchise known as the calgary dragons. Task 7: the anthem singer that I have chosen for calgary is a bit of a wildcard, i have chosen to have mike izzy sing the anthems. Mike is a guy who can really do it all, and would have a blast giving his own renditon of the canadian anthem and the american anthem. Both anthems will be performed, since the simulation hockey league franchise known as the calgary dragons is located in alberta canada, while the simulation hockey league franchise known as the west kendall platoon is located in the united states. For the west kendall platoon I have chosen to have justin bieber do the anthems. My reasoning here should be pretty obvious, biebs is a household name all over canada and the americas, where there are many viewers who could be drawn in to watch both the anthems and the games. This means the league could make more money with more viewers there for the biebs Task 12: some adversity was definitely felt by the simulation hockey league team known as the calgary dragons on their way to the challenge cup finals against the simulation hockey league team known as the west kendall platoon. This adversity arose from their plane running out of gas in the semi finals, which meant they had to bus it all series. their bus wasn't particularly good, as they never invested too much into because they always used to take the train. Otis B. Drfitwood, simulation hockey league defenseman for the simulation hockey league team known as the calgary dragons (located in calgary alberta, canada) is very tall. This meant that he had to duck his head down for most of the ride on the busses back and forth, to fit properly in his seat. This lead to him having a sore neck for the rest of the series - who knows how the finals would have went if otis neck was 100% game ready. @Slappydoodle Task 13: sent RE: S47 Championship Week - JSS - 06-05-2019 Task 1: So Flacko Lagerfield is from Chicago, the minute he arrived at Chicago's fine airport, he was greeted with fans from all over, some from Tampa, some from Seattle, some from Chicago and even some from Buffalo. They were all there for Lagerfield, the greatest player in Chicago history. Now they planned a local charity event at a park in dowtown Chicago, there were other SHL players there like Benjamin Blue and David Fantobens who were helping out with the charity and there for the 3v3 charity tournament. Lagerfield's youngest son Carter was there and so was his wife. They all had fun playing hockey and then there was a barbeque in the park and fireworks at night. At the end, Lagerfield and some of the other players around signed some autographs and then they announced the total amount raise for the charity. Overall, not a bad day for the players. Task 5: 2 - I think @JR95 takes this. Every GM in this series is top notch but JR has dedicated a lot of personal time to learn the simulator well and he has taught a lot of things I still use in STHS to this day. For that reason, I would have to go with JR. Task 9: Honestly, I wouldn't call this team a disapointment because they didn't make the finals, but because of how their overall season went. The Hamilton Steelhawks looked like a team that could maybe grab a late playoff spot and definitely do some damage. I mean they did some damaga last season and grabbed a late playoff spot so a decent amount of fans and analysts predicted that this year would be the case as last years for the Steelhawks. However, it wasn't. They started off strong in the first few games but they fell apart quick and eventually they saw themselves outside of a playoff spot. They tried to re salvage things but that didn't go as planned and the rentals they traded for didn't really do much for what the GMs were hopping for. It's not the end for them though as the team has a strong and bright future. Task 11: I would add David @Fantobens to the team where his career started off in, sunny West Kendall. Fantobens is the exact type of player you need in tight playoff situations and game 7s. He is an extremely vocal player and always positive and he is serious when he needs to be. He is loved and respected by everyone in the locker room and he's a great leader in Tampa and I'm sure he'd be a great leader no matter where he played. He is exactly who you want for close playoff series. He will give that extra motivation to the team, even if his player isn't the greatest in terms of production, that's not what matters the most. You need to keep your head in the game during big games and Fantobens will do exactly just that. He will and can be the center of the locker room when you need him the most and I'm sure any team would love to have a Fantobens. Task 12: Both of these teams didn't make the playoffs the season before so they both faced a lot of their struggles however I would have to give the nod to the Dragons in a case like this. They have been a premier team in the league for years now so they always have the extra pressure from their fans that they need to be top performers in the regular season and the post season so when they didn't manage to make the playoffs last year they caught a lot of dragon heat. There were a lot of skeptical fans that didn't think the Dragons would ever be good enough for a deep run in the post season for some time but somehow they did. After not making the playoffs, they managed to not only get back in the playoffs but they didn't lost their special playoff luck and managed to get to the finals. Task 13: sent @PT Director RE: S47 Championship Week - jblock3 - 06-05-2019 Task 1: Following his second season in the SMJHL, Josh Driver returned to his small hometown in the upper peninsula of Michigan. Driver's hockey career, including his time in the NCAA in addition to his young SMJHL career, has been a source of major pride and excitement for the people of his hometown. An assembly was held at his former high school, where he came out and gave a speech in front of the current student body and a large number of community members. The school then played a video showing highlights of him as a high school player, highlights of his Lake Superior State University career, and highlights of his first two seasons with the Detroit Falcons. Following the video, Josh announced that he would be making a donation to the school to be used to purchase brand new jerseys and equipment for the hockey program. To end the event, it was reveled that the local arena that hosts the high school games would be renamed Josh Driver Arena. Josh ended the day by reconnecting with his former coaches, teachers, and others in the community before heading to the newly named Josh Driver Arena to participate in practice with the high school team. However, I am still a decent distance from being ready to start in the shl. Not the least of which I have Scotty Crawling settled nicely as a starter in front of me. For me I think I just need to keep Working on my all round game tending net. I am a goalie that values all my skills even my “supposed” weakness. But as a result I need to push harder than some other goalies to make sure my hands are fast enough and I have the body control I need. I'm hoping I can spend one last season in the juniors and then maybe be ready to form a platoon with Scotty in S49. Task 05: (Written, up to 6 TPE) 2. A major managerial showdown is about to take place Between WKP's (Jr95, Wongy) and Calgarys (Steelhead77, C00kies) which set of GM's have the tactical/managerial advantage in this series and why? You have to go with JR here, the manager who has been to five finals in the last 8(?) seasons, totally not at all thinking that he is the simmer as well.. nope. But in all seriousness being a simmer just gives a GM an edge in understanding the constraints and details that need to be done from a coaching standpoint. 4. Which player do you believe will be the differance maker in their franchise winning the title here in S47? Bojo, that's right bojo the goalie for West Kendall Platoon, will be the most important player for the platoon. The truth of the situation is that both teams are very equally matched on offense, and therefore it is going to come down to the goalie that stands on their head and pulls out the ninja skills to keep the pucks out of the net. And bojo has shown he is a playoff goalie. When the big games are on, he brings his best. 6. Which young players in this series (S42-S47) have a chance to break out and make a name for themselves here in the Challenge Cup Finals? (*Tag that player) Rex Kirkby, the s43 product from anchorage, as been in the senior League a full four seasons now, and is already playing in his second final. A top ten prospect he has proved to be a hard working defender who has progressed since entering the league at third pair to becoming the top pair anchor next superstar Von Lupig. He now brings an earned experience to the team and is ready to bring the cup back to West Kendall. @Acsolap 8. Star netminders Kata Vilde and Beaujeaux Biscuit have both carried there teams into the finals. Which franchise goalie has a better chance to carry their franchise to a title? You are looking here at one of the premier net minders from the regular season in calgary's Kata Vilde, up against the play off superstar of Beaujeaux Biscuit with west Kendall. I think in the end you have to back Beaujeaux for this series just because of how he has managed to gel with his veterans on the blue line. Achieving more shutouts in the playoffs than many goalies achieved in the season, these types of performance are the difference makers for teams. And I expect to see at least one game in the series stolen by Beaujeaux. Task 09: (Written, 3 TPE) From the teams that made it to the playoffs you'd have to say that both New Orleans and Manhattan would both have backed themselves to get at least one more round than they did. And considering that there weren't really any teams that "just missed" out on the playoffs you have to give the honors of most disappointed to one of these two teams. Both piped by teams not expected to put up much of a fight too, both reaching two rounds fewer than last season's placing. In the end you probably need to give the Nov to the just beaten s46 finalist New Orleans, they will have been hoping to at least get to the western conference final and maybe push for a cup with an amazing squad in only year two. The big question remains for that team, top heavy and with more and more players starting to regress, how long will their window remain open? Will their prospects arrive in time? Will they be able to pull off as incredible FA pickup again? Only time will tell. But for New Orleans s47 will go down as a disappointing season. So I have become like an adopted child in Finland. When I came they all shouted "Ukkelini!" and were so happy to see me. We hung out and they invited me to a Finnish feast where we had plenty of vodka, leipäjuusto, kaalikääryleet, perunamuusi, bread, and reindeer meatballs. It was a lovely affair and I ate so much that I had to sleep and we had a big sleepover in Finland, and my ukkelinis. In the middle of the night, we played games and told scary stories and even played a prank on the Finnish president, where I pooped on his face and shouted "POOPITY SCOOP!!!!" He laughed as it was all in great fun and then we played hopscotch until morning. Personally, I can't wait to go back but now I must work hard to represent Finland in the IIHF Tournament. Code: Task 05: (Written, up to 6 TPE) 2. They are both great groups but I think West Kendall has to have the advantage by simply having such a strong and deep roster. Calgary, honestly, was not expected to go this far and I think their youth and relative lack of higher end talent will unfortunately be their downfall here. The Platoon simply have much more to work with tactically and no amount of line tinkering will help the Dragons overcome this talent disparity. 3. Beaujeaux Biscuit it easily his team's MVP. He has been shut down all playoffs long and has an incredible 4 shutouts in just 15 games. To put that into perspective, the regular season league leader in shutouts had 4, playing 3 times as many games. As for an unsung hero, that would have to be Nat Emerson. He always deserves more credit for what he does for the platoon. Though he does not show up much on the scoreboard, he is becoming a true definition of a shutdown defender and plays rock solid defense for the Platoon at all times. He has prevented a number of scoring opportunities and often his contributions just go unnoticed. @Thelastheraclid @.bojo 5. "Major Surprise" - I say this because the Dragons were a decent team in the playoffs but far from the best. They are a very young team with potential but it was hard to see them having much of a shot against a team like the New Orleans Specters, who were absolutely dominant all season long. Honestly, I think there was some luck in play here and I will be very surprised if the Dragons are able to go as deep in the playoffs next season. However, they certainly have the potential to be perennial contenders in a few seasons. 6. I would say the Dragons' Nicky Pedersen Jr. has the best shot of truly making a name for himself here. He is already an important player for the Dragons but has been in the shadows of some mediocre team performances. However, being in the finals, the league will get a chance to see what the young forward is made of under the spotlight. If he can live up to his potential and be a strong offensive performer like he can be, the SHL will put him on notice and see that he is truly a potential star. @mstuk41 7. "Mild Surprise" - I say this because the Platoon clearly made a push for the cup this season with some big trades. At the beginning of the season, sure, this would have been something not many saw coming. But by mid-season and especially the end of the season, it was quite clear that the Platoon had the ability, the chemistry, the talent to go all the way. 8. Beajeaux Biscuit has the better chance. He is older, more experienced, and has the better team in front of him. Kata Vilde will need to literally carry the Dragons to a championship if the Dragons are going to win. The team in front of him is just so young and lacking in elite talent right now that I think he will be tested frequently throughout the series and he will need to be on his A game constantly to give his team a real shot here. Code: Task 07: (Written, 3 TPE) For me, I would choose Kanye West for the Platoon and Taylor Swift for the Dragons. Now, this is a perfect way to do this because both are great but they are also both rivals so they need to be on opposite sides. I choose Kanye West for the Platoon because they are big, strong, and the favourites here. Kanye West is a very self-confident man and represents the nature of being a favourite. Not only is he confident, though, but he also has the resume to prove it. He is one of the best musicians of all time and has created some of the greatest albums ever. He is an all around tremendous artist and thus is representing a team that was great in the regular season and doubled down on greatness in the playoffs. For the Dragons, they get Taylor because they are good, easy to like and very popular, but still flawed. Like the Dragons are very young, Taylor has gotten to a high level without being an all-around incredible talent like Kanye is. However, she is great at what she does as a singer and performer and the Dragons have been unquestionably solid. And in the end, their rivalry will be an example of the battle these teams have in store for the cup finals. Code: Task 11: (Written, 3 TPE) The West Kendall Platoon defeated the Buffalo Stampede in the Eastern Conference Finals. As a result of this new roster rule brought forth to us by the one and only Michael Izzy, they have chosen to take forward Noro Wozy from their conference rivals. While there may be better players available, Noro Wozy makes perfect sense. First of all, you have to consider the fallout. Just taking a player from another team, people can get mad and say that the rule is only making the rich richer. It is true. However, in this case, Noro Wozy is retiring at the end of the season. So not only do they get a solid forward out of this deal but they get a guy who will be retiring anyways to avoid making anyone upset AND it is a feel good story because they can help Noro Wozy to get his first cup win of his career. @TheWoZy Code: TASK 13: (*CASUAL MEMBER SPECIAL* Send answer in PM, up to 3 TPE) SENT RE: S47 Championship Week - Steelhead77 - 06-06-2019 Task 03: 3TPE I am currently a Dragons prospect playing in the SMJHL for the Halifax Raiders. I'm enjoying my time in juniors as my pro team is pretty stacked at the moment and I will need to be patient. I am ready whenever they need me, which could be next season, not sure yet. I'm not really concerned about any part of my game, maybe taking face offs in the pros will be a challenge if I start out at center, but I could also be used as a winger early on. Definitely want to work on some strength though regardless, that can always be improved. I think offensive game will translate well to the SHL. I'm excited about joining the guys in the pros and putting on the Dragons sweater, but I will definitely miss all my buddies in Halifax when it happens. We still have some unfinished business though and hope to win the 4 Star Cup this season! [150+] TASK 04: 3TPE Task 05: 5TPE 3. Which player in the finals should be considered their teams playoff MVP and which should be considered their teams unsung hero thus far and why? Coming into the finals Kata Vilde would be the Dragons playoff MVP. He was stellar in the first 2 rounds, knocking off Edmonton an Texas and probably the biggest reason we have made the finals in the first place. Unsung hero would be Nicky Pedersen Jr who scored two overtime goals so far in these playoffs and has been clutch. [50+] 4. Which player do you believe will be the difference maker in their franchise winning the title here in S47? As in any series, it's usually goaltending that makes the difference. For Calgary to win against a very deep West Kendall roster they will need Vilde to stand on his head or for Beajeaux Biscuit to be human. For West Kendall to win, they will need Beaujeaux Biscuit to continue to play as hot as he has all playoffs and for Vilde's play to regress from the first 2 rounds. [50+] 5. After trading off there best players and declaring themselves in a full rebuild back in S45, The Calgary Dragons have made it to the S47 finals.. just 2 seasons later. Choose: ('No surprise', 'mild surprise', 'major surprise' or 'in shock') and explain why. Honestly, even as GM I have to go with mild surprise. I felt coming out of a rebuild we were still good enough to make the playoffs but were probably not a cup team yet and tbh we're still not, but we are good enough to play with anyone and in a 7 game series it's been my experience that anything can happen. We seem to have Edmonton's number beating them the last 2 seasons and once New Orleans lost I knew we'd match up well with Texas in the WCF, but coming into the playoffs I did not expect to make the finals. I'm very proud we did though, the guys worked hard and it feels great to be Western Conference Champs for the first time since S42. [50+] 6. Which young players in this series (S42-S47) have a chance to break out and make a name for themselves here in the Challenge Cup Finals? (*Tag that player) Definitely Calgary's Maxime Bouchard has already been making a name for himself this season as rookie scoring leader and he's been great in the playoffs also. He's quickly becoming a household name and one of the league's brightest young stars. @Weretarantula I would also give his young linemates Nicky Pedersen Jr @mstuk41 and Rainbow Dash @Eggy216 a look also at the line has great chemistry and has been awesome all playoffs. [50+] 7. The West Kendall Platoon are back in the finals after a season out of the playoffs and a team that was in serious regression Choose: ('No surprise', 'mild surprise', 'major surprise' or 'in shock') and explain why. No surprise here. West Kendall just had a bad luck season last year, they've always had a great roster and excellent management. I think I choose them to win the east every year and was not surprised at all to see them win the president's trophy this season. Their roster is cup ready and I expected them to make this kind of run. [50]+ Task 11: 3TPE This is an easy one, I would choose Hercules Rockefeller from the Edmonton Blizzard, mainly because I cannot resist the opportunity to put @Leafs4ever in a Dragons jersey against his will and it would probably break the league. All kidding aside though, Rockefeller is a great player and would be a big addition to our roster for the finals. He plays center and that's an area we could improve behind Mike Izzy. It would allow us to slot Rockefeller on line 2 and slide Nicky Pedersen Jr to 3C with Paddy O'Sullivan coming in off the bench. The chemistry would remain the same on all lines but we'd be upgrading the center position, which is key in going up against a deep roster like West Kendall. Rockefeller would improve our face off winning % and possession along with generating offense and hopefully score some big goals for the Dragons. You can never have enough center depth or goal scoring in the playoffs. [150+] TASK 13: PM Sent 3TPE |
