My player, Elvar Gil-Galad has started a lucrative pass-time of training mice for a mouse circus. The first one he trained was the tight rope walker.  Easy enough, he just trained the mouse by putting cheese on the other end of the line and the mousie picked it up pretty quick. The second trick he taught was a mouse trapeze.  This one was a bit harder because the mice don’t like to swing, but he learned that they will learn to do most anything for a nicely aged cheddar as a reward. One mouse learned a double backflip dismount. The third trick he taught a mouse to do was to punch in a security code for a local Great Falls bank, and though it took some time, the mouse figured out what was expected of him and Elvar used him to rob the bank after hours. It was a pretty good haul and what the cops still haven’t realized, is that he trained a second mouse to delay the security cameras so that for a five minute window, there is no footage of the heist. Elvar is now looking for a nice home in Chicago with a big old room to keep training his heist mice.

In season 80, the Chicago Syndicate have a number of elite rookies playing in the big leagues for the first time. While the team won’t be a contender for a few more years, there is a very good probability that Sam Volta will be on the watch for rookie of the year. He had an exceptional junior career and the rest of us hope he gets at least a nomination.

We are already highlighting all the teams that won a cup or international gold on sidebanners but we could give that added visibility to award winners as well. Design a side banner for player(s) that won or you expect to win an award for season S79. Must include at least render, name of the player and name of the award.

Which player on your team has the best chance of receiving an award? Which award and why do you think it is them? How likely do you think it is for them to get the nomination for it?

Being completely honest, I did not follow much of the current season in real time so my pick here is solely based on a brief scan of our team's end of season stats. I don't think Chicago performed very well as a team this season to warrant having any players in the mix for top awards, however we did see a player improve greatly from the previous season. This season Cal Juice ended with 34 goals, 58 assists and 92 points which was a big improvement from last season. Cal has 13 more goals and 45 more assists than he had last season and those goals are on only 6 more shots. I think it is unlikely that he wins the award however because we saw a similar if not better improvement a couple seasons ago from Alexandros Mograine that went completely unnoticed by the awards committee and I expect the same this season.

The all star game is a time kf year where the SHL showcases its best talent across the league, and this season is no different as both conference squads are loaded to the brim of talent. Most of the time, its the skaters, the forwards and defensemen, who get all of the love and attention. However, in this one I’m going to talk about the goaltenders who were selected to the all star rosters. Both teams have 2 fantastic netminders who are going to make the coaches’ decisions very hard when it comes to who will be the starting goalie for the big game. In the east, there is Buffalo’s Rebecca Montagne, and Toronto’s Milasch. For the east, I would pick Montagne. Buffalo has a history of elite goalies and I would pick the player from the team with a legacy. As for the west, I would pick San Francisco’s Justin Time, who has been one of the best goalies in the league for many seasons now. (167 words)

While every team gets at least one player to send to the allstar game in the name of fairness, the Tampa Bay Barracuda have had some players who are very deserving of this honor over the past few years, even if one representative was not mandatory for each team. For the last 2 seasons, there has been nobody better to represent the Tampa Bay Barracuda than their star centerman, Max Carnage. Max Carnage has led the team in scoring both of the last 2 seasons and took home a lot of award hardware last offseason. This season, he followed that up with another impressive campaign being the main driver of Tampa Bay’s offense. I expect Max Carnage to have a great game for the Eastern Conference. He is undoubtedly going to score at least 4 goals and gathers 17 assists in just the one game. That would truly be maximum carnage on the ice. (154 words)

Edmonton is full of Allstars. Current and Future. So many names we could name for getting an award, But the only obvious one is Cake. Alexa Johansen. UNbelievable rookie season, setting team records, being active in the community and just overall a great user. She could easily win more than one award, but will she?

Dash jackson would take in the twin cities by attending a local Minnesota Wild game and led the SKOL chant at the most recent Vikings game. Although Dash wasn't named to the All star game he was there to support the league and his teammates with his family and friends. No visit to the Twin Cities would ever be complete without a trip to the Mall of America, The biggest Mall in United States. We finished off our sight seeing with a trip to the beautiful Minnehaha Falls for some breath taking views of natural wonders. The Monarchs ahve been wonderful hosts so far and we look forward to a great game of the leagues best players.

3. On West you could build D pairs out of teammates or rivals as both
Los Angels and San Fransisco sends 2 defencemen. Which one you’d choose

4. Which of the goalies you would have starting for each team?

5. This time the games are hosted in Minnesota. How would players spend their time in Twin Cities?

6. Your player starts practicing a skill that has nothing to do with hockey, what do they do and how it goes?

7. What would be your starting lineup, 3 forwards, 2 defencemen and a goalie for one of the SMJHL conferences?

5.Since my player, Leonard Wood, is from Madison, WI, he is quite familiar with the Twin Cities. The Twin Cities are just down the road from Madison via I-94. He's visited there often growing up and has many friends there. He's also a midwesterner at heart, so he is glad to spend time in Minnesota. But since Wood is not an all star, all he can do is advise others on how to spend the time there. Of course, being in the state of hockey, one's natural inclination would be to go see a game of hockey. There's a mutlitude women's hockey, college hockey, high school hockey, etc. Or if they don't want to see more hockey, they could visit the vibrant downtown of St. Paul or Minneapolis where there is always something going on. One could find a nice bar or take in a show in the Twin Cities bustling nigh life scene. Or perhaps if the players have families or extra money to burn, they could hit up the Mall of America to spend their high hockey salaries on expensive clothing and goods. If none of that interests them, they could take a short drive out of town and are sure to find a good fishing spot away from all the hoards of fans.

The player on my team, the Philadelphia Forge, who has the best chance to win an award is Tony Soprano. With the power of the gabogool, Tony Soprano is at the top of his game and is our team's leading scorer with 102 points (52 goals, 50 assists). He is a dominant offensive force on the Philadelphia team that just made it to the Challenge Cup Finals. The Forge could not have gotten as far as they did without him. Tony is a leader on and off the ice who works hard and has a great processor. His vision for seeing the game unfold is unmatched to anyone else. Therefore, he should be destined to win an award. He should win an award for MVP, a leadership award, or any other award one could think of. I know for certain he will win some Forge team awards. His presence on the team is invaluable and that will eventually lead us to a Cup.

5. This time the games are hosted in Minnesota. How would players spend their time in Twin Cities?

The fun thing about the Twin Cities is that there's an absurd amount of things to do if you know where to look. And there's truly something for everyone. If you want to stick to sports, you can seek out everything and anything in pro sports, from baseball to soccer to ultimate frisbee. If you're not interested in that, you could go to the museums: the Minneapolis Institute of Art, the History Center, the Science Museum, the Walker, the Mill City Museum, or even the American Swedish Institute, which houses a really quite lovely cafe. If you want to be more classically touristy, there's the Mall of America, Minnehaha Falls Park, and Nicollet Mall. You can explore food at the Midtown Global Market or go to Can Can Wonderland for mini golf, drinks, and arcade gaming. There's something for everyone, and every kind of food or entertainment you could want to seek out. You can go solo adventuring out in nature along the lakes and the river or stick with a group for the more typical outings that have been outlined here. Truly, everybody can do whatever they want and be pleased with the outcome. You don't even have to go far for good nature trips! [206 words, +4 TPE]

I don't think anybody on the Rage is bringing home any awards this season, but if anyone has to be in contention for something it's got to be either Austin Morley or shnopple lopple. Morley gapped the rest of the team pretty hard on points, and lopple is a sneaky defensive monster with a knack for potting game winners. [59 words, +1 TPE]

11. Well, the first location that comes to mind whenever you mention something about an All-Star event, that only really exists for ticket sales and whatnot, would be somewhere in Saudi Arabia, Qatar or even the United Arab Emirates. But of course, hosting an event from this league with our userbase as it is at any of those places would be a pathetic joke at best and a dangerous piss take at worst. A fun option that comes to mind would be hosting it in India. I say it mostly because the poor guys are stuck with cricket as their favourite sport and really, nobody on this whole planet of ours deserves that ignominy. I mean, have you ever watched that stuff? Thing sucks, it is as exciting as watching paint dry.

A cool one would probably be Ireland, given the nation's history in the IIHF and the lack of real-life similarities, might as well host a game at Dublin or Cork. I mean, I heard the place is great and all, just a bit foggy. So says a guy I have met the other day on a Discord server from a YouTube channel that dabbles in old games.

8. I think any sort of recognition for Naomi is well deserved, whether it is in the shape of awards or all-star selections. At any rate, she is pretty cool and I am happy to see that she got the call. Hopefully, her player will do well and represent us just as much.
