Four out of top 5 teams in the league were from teams in the West but East took all spots from 6 to 11. This is also pretty clear when you look at selection of players that made the All-star game, West being more focused on those few teams on top while East has more balanced approach with 5 teams sending two or more players. Which of the teams you expect to win the game and why?

This means that many players with great careers still can easily not make it, depending on how many awards or all-star nods they might get during their career along with general recognition. So who in you opinion should have made it? Is it someone who got snubbed in your opinion or someone who’s contribution wasn’t really recognized outside their own team? Who and why you would have liked to see being inducted to hall?

The player chosen as an all-star for the Seattle Argonauts was Shadow Fenix, third-year player and already blossoming into a legitimate superstar. He had an outstanding season, potting 39 goals and adding 40 assists to establish a new career high of 79 points. He was one of the most accurate shooters in the league, coming in third with a 22.81% shot percentage. This was good enough to lead the team in scoring, but he is also a strong 2 way player. He contributed with a 54.1% faceoff percentage, 58 takeaways and 56 blocks in his own end. It was his second straight season as the top scorer on the Seattle squad and he projects to be a real treat to watch as his career progresses. With several other young guns on the team projecting to be elite, so far Shadow has led the way with his strong play. He already won a trophy as Rookie of the Year, it's not unrealistic to expect him to gather even more in the future.

I am pretty sure that nobody from the Seattle Argonauts is going to win any awards, but it's not from lack of trying. Nobody really had hugely amazing seasons. Despite that, there are certainly some who I can see trending to make a name for themselves soon. I could see a player like Simo Jaskelainen being a Bojo Biscuit candidate. He stepped up in a big way last season and was in the top 3 for blocked shots in the league. Another player who could soon be in the conversation for an award like the Jeff Dar for two-way forward is Shadow Fenix. With 79 points and high numbers in takeaways, shot blocks, and hits. Given how young he still is, if those numbers continue to rise as he grows, they can certainly draw some attention from the awards committee. Personally I would love to have my own player be a Biscuit or Stevens Award perennial candidate but since I was just a rookie last season I think I will have to be patient for a few more seasons.

Trevor Lahey was selected to the Eastern Conference All-Star team after season number 79. He played a fantastic season even though Hamilton Steelhawks missed the playoffs train. Lahey lead the team with impressive 97 points in 66 hockey games. He scored amazingly 43 goals and 54 assists. Those are very very rare rare numbers, remember that. The league leader had 112 points and Lahey was very long time close to him. The nomination to the All-Star game was very well deserved in my opinion and he was one of the first guys who got an invitation. His average ice-time was 21:45 so even his minutes were somehow limited compared to some others who played couple minutes more. But Lahey is a team player above all. He doesn't cheat. If he feels tired, he comes to the bench to rest. His shifts aren't over one minute. They are 40-50 seconds which is optimal to stay fresh. It helped Lahey to score so well. From his 97 points, 30 points were scored on the power play. He also had two assists when Hamilton were a one man down. You could trust to Lahey also in four versus five situations. He was responsible even though he was a star player. But that is reality. You lead by your example on ice and Lahey did it.

It has to be also mr. Trevor Lahey. He is a prime candidate to win breakthrough player of the year award. At least in the Hamilton's own trophy ceremony after season. You can also consider him to two-way category because Lahey had impressive 72 takeaways. He always made sure that balance is correct. His line didn't cheat when it comes to defence. It was responsible hockey, I must say. Lahey also won 54% of his face-offs. That is very great result.
