Not really sure what you're implying here [/quote] It was just a further play on Ham strategy (obviously good, you guys won the cup) with a response of the league banding together to drive players from teams that are having success out (obviously not intentional), in hindsight it was a bad joke at the wrong time. In reality it sucks that the stigma is causing people to lose interest in the league...It's bad for the league as a whole and hopefully it lessens. RE: Hamilton Games the Sim Again! - hockeyiscool - 05-21-2020 THIS SITE IS TOO SLOW SO I DOUBLE POST! REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!! RE: Hamilton Games the Sim Again! - JKortesi81 - 05-21-2020 I read the first few posts and thought Cal was 100% serious here. Can't we just stick to Ace trading things twice memes nowadays? (this is a hint that i may or may not be working on an article on the admirals) RE: Hamilton Games the Sim Again! - PremierBromanov - 05-21-2020 I guess I'm late to the party, but after seeing the distribution of HAMs teams, I can conclude a few things that helped them win ONCE 1. Entire team follows 1 strategy. This is just naturally effective than wrangling and motley crew 2. Stamina is not important to their strategy, particularly because they have depth. 3. Depth is also pretty huge 4. Only 2 goal scorers on the team 5. Agility also very important, as is strength (because checking) Basically, all I can really say for certain about HAMs "gaming" is that they built their team very specifically. This to me, at most, aludes to the existence of a pair of scissors in a rock-paper-scissors scenario, rather than "the new exploit". I mean fuck, are we really saying that HAM discovered the 1995 Devils and it's bad? But it also begs the question: What are other teams doing? Do they have a specific strategy that didn't work? What builds ARENT working? I GM a team and I want to do everything in my power to make that team good. I've also just gotten the go ahead to change every single players build on my team so we can have max chemistry. I'd be dumb not to talk it over and coordinate it with my players. I'd also be dumb not to tell them which attributes they should put their TPE into to be the best that they can be in our new system. By the time a player is drafted, any amount of TPE they've put into their build is negligible so we can continue the cycle of telling players how to build so they can fit the team's meta. If the trend continues I think we seriously need to consider re-introducing player types and limiting where TPE can be spent to prevent everyone from having a "meta-player". Should a sniper/dangler have 16 defensive awareness, 16 strength and 16 checking? Probably not. I think you have a point there, although i think the flexibility is what we all really liked about the change. However, it might be cool, if very complicated, to allow you to pick one of the player types and make earning TPE for their stats easier or raise that cap . Still, its been one season RE: Hamilton Games the Sim Again! - Sean - 05-21-2020 05-21-2020, 12:24 PMPremierBromanov Wrote:05-21-2020, 11:48 AMTommySalami Wrote: . Yeah, I'm not calling for change yet. It's just something to keep an eye on. |
