Hamilton Games the Sim Again!
#1

Obviously this isn't even near the same level as what happened with STHS, but once again Hamilton has gamed the sim and found something that they're requiring all of their players to adhere to.

Funny enough, Detroit is following suite because of the overlap of players/personnel.

Considering the other four teams that got to the finals all had a super star on their team or a trio of exceptional players on offense:
Edmonton - Tony Pepperoni (1950 TPE)
New England - Ola Wagstrom (2100 TPE)
Los Angeles - Phillip Winter (1750 TPE), GOD McZehrl (1650 TPE), Max Mauldin (1650 TPE)

while this team had essentially had no offense, having only a goalie and a defenseman on their squad:
Hamilton - Tig Murphy (1700 TPE), Geezus Kryyst (1600 TPE)

I think we can safely say that their exploit is once again propping up a decent team becoming the favorite and ultimately winning the Challenge Cup.

So ladies and gentlemen what has Aaron Wilson uncovered this time? Checking and defensive read.

From top to bottom the only player on the team I could find that didn't have those two attributes as the highest attributes on their build above 15 was Al Kayhall, a below 700 TPE player.

While I could understand all players having defensive read above 15, both attributes and essentially all players isn't just a trend, it's a rule and one that I have to imagine the GMs told the players they need to follow.

I suppose we should have known this would happen, but I really was hoping it would take more than one offseason.

Remember this when you reroll your builds everyone! Checking and defensive read to at least 15, 17 if you can get it there. On that same note @Leafs4ever, @James Truong, @MrStennett, @dylanjj37 be sure to fix your builds this offseason guys! Oh and @ml002 good news bud, your rebuild should be over a lot sooner now!

I can only hope this is satire, because there's much more to it than two defensive stats. C'mon bruh.

No this is entirely serious and you won't find essentially the same thing across every other team in the league because it doesn't make sense with the current TPE scale to spread out TPE as opposed to putting it all into attributes that create a greater variety of player types

To be clear I had someone pitching me this last and when I looked into it it just didn't add up the way they were saying. Looks more like a team with most players above 1k TPE that is the result of the TPE scale favoring spreading out TPE

After playing around with FHM for a few days I can say I am shocked that we are using this sim engine. Or at least at the way we are using it with the stats we are...I appreciate all the work that went into moving to a new sim engine but man there's more changes needed to make this engine work for a league like ours.

Even if you think the Steelhawks are building a certain way as a team, there are more stats than just checking and defensive read that they've focused on. I put this together a few weeks ago.

And I'm not really sure how it's gaming the system? Every team that wants to compete should be approaching their roster with the same mentality: your best chance to succeed is to put together a comprehensive, cohesive team structure. This isn't exploiting, this is just good coaching from the person I consider to be the best coach in the league.

Why do you think that? Honestly I thought this season went really well.

I don't think they're gaming the system, this was poking fun at the people who think that way. I figured showing off that they have one of the top goalies and defensemen in the league would make that obvious
