nahhh, he should just go back to pimpin rides imo

- BasedMinkus - 10-06-2012

lol Xzibit. Dude wasn't even that good when he was relevant

- Spangle - 10-06-2012

He has a couple good songs. Not expecting much, but I listened to the song "Louis VIII" from this album when it came out a few months back, and it was actually pretty good.

Heard a couple tracks on it, seems like a decent album but nothing special.

Kid at my school who tries to be a rapper. Still undecided on whether he's worth my time of listening, but this track (just released a few minutes ago) ain't too bad:

Listening to a lot today, planning on hitting on Xzibit's "Napalm" and MGK's "Lace Up". Have no expectations for either.

Xzibit - "Napalm"
State of Hip-Hop vs. Xzibit: 4.25/5
Everything: 4/5
Dos Equis (ft. Game & RBX): 3/5
-As nostalgic as RBX's voice is and as dope as the beat might be, this one is not that good.
Something More (ft. Prodigy): 3.75/5
-Prodigy is good here, as is Xzibit, but what is this hook.
Gangsta Gangsta: 3.5/5
Forever A G (ft. Wiz Khalifa): 3.25/5
-Xzibit is weak here, but I actually like Wiz's hook, lmao.
1983 (ft. Trena Joiner): 3.75/5
Stand Tall (ft. Slim the Mobster): 3/5
Spread It Out: 2.5/5
Up Out The Way (ft. E-40): 2/5
Napalm: 1.5/5
-I thought the last two tracks were the worst I would hear, but I was wrong.
Meaning of Life: 2.75/5
-No, fuck you.
Louis XIII (ft. King Tee & Tha Alkaholics): 4.25/5
-We found a savior track! Can this track save the album from lower rating than I gave DMX's album? (2.96/5 for reference)
Enjoy the Night (ft. David Banner, Wiz Khalifa & Brevi): .75/5
-For those wondering if we had a savior track in "Louis XIII", we didn't. This one goes right back into tanking. No, my score ain't a typo.
Movies (ft. Game, Crooked I, Slim the Mobster & Young De): 4/5
-First impression is that this one definitely sounds like Akon production, haha. Though, this one is good (yay!Wink.
I Came to Kill: 3.75/5
Killer's Remorse (ft. Bishop Lamont, Young De & B-Real): 3.75/5
-Xzibit's crying in the beginning, but this one is good.
1983 Remix (ft. Trena Joiner): 3.5/5
Throw It Like It's Free (ft. Black Milk, Phats & Tre Capital): 3.25/5
Crazy (ft. B-Real, Demrick & Jelly Roll): 3/5
Phenom (ft. Kurupt & 40 Glocc): 3/5

66.5/105 -> 3.17/5

This one definitely had its highs and lows. The middle made me wonder how bad this one would wind up being, but it ended nicely. Decent effort from Xzibit.

MGK - "Lace Up"
Save Me (ft. M. Shadows & Synyster Gates): 3.25/5
-Good stuff from MGK, but OMG the hook. Oh why.
What I Do (ft. Bun B & Dubo): 3/5
-The hook, again, kills this one. Sad shit.
Wild Boy (ft. Waka Flocka Flame): 1.5/5
Lace Up (ft. Lil Jon): 2.25/5
-What I've discovered is that MGK isn't too bad, but he just collaborates with guys who make me want to kill myself or uses the worst hooks ever.
Stereo (ft. Fitts of The Kickdrums): 4/5
-This song does not fit here; it has a good hook to go with its good verses.
All We Have (ft. Anna Yvette): 3.75/5
See My Tears: 3.5/5
D3MONS (ft. DMX): 3/5
-I'm sufficiently scared.
Edge of Destruction (ft. Tech N9ne & Twista): 3/5
-Why so mad?
Runnin (ft. Planet VI): 3.5/5
Invincible (ft. Ester Dean): 4/5
On My Way: 3/5
End of the Road (ft. Blackbear): 3.75/5
Half Naked & Almost Famous: 3/5
Hold On (ft. Young Jeezy): 2.5/5
Warning Shot (ft. Cassie): 3.25/5

50.25/80 -> 3.14/5

Funny enough, this one wound up being .03 worse than Xzibit's album, so both are of similar quality overall, though I enjoyed less songs here than I did from Napalm. Not the worst, but overall, a very mediocre debut, as expected.

And saying rap isn't music is a pathetic argument. It's nature came around in the same way as rock and roll in the belief of a strong lyric and rebellious feel. It can exemplify hardship like blues, passion like soul and the edge of rock. Haters eat your hearts out.
