RE: S54 WFT #1 - Goal Songs - BarnabasCollins - 05-28-2020 This is a no brainer for Hamilton since they completely fucked over the SHL, Seek and Destroy by Metallica since that's what they enjoy doing. RE: S54 WFT #1 - Goal Songs - NUCK - 05-28-2020 That is an easy one! SFP would obviously be using the YMCA song by the Village People. What better song to describe the direction the SFP management were thinking on there destination and name. I needed 25 words, sorry RE: S54 WFT #1 - Goal Songs - MyLittleHexx - 05-28-2020 LINK Honestly, there is only one song that should be the Kelowna Knights goal horn. I'm shocked and embarrassed as a Knight that we don't hear this lovely tune every time we bury that biscuit deep into the net. Oh and for the new name, maybe something like the Five Day Task or the 5DT. RE: S54 WFT #1 - Goal Songs - dankoa - 05-28-2020 The reason Texas still hasn’t got their goal song is because we’re haggling with Houston native, Travis Scott, to get him to record a song exclusively for that purpose. If that doesn’t happen, we may just use one of Trav’s released songs, as we have a deep respect for him and his music, and as two global ambassadors for the state of Texas we think it’d make for a great partnership. This would definitely go hard RE: S54 WFT #1 - Goal Songs - Aephino - 05-28-2020 I think the St. Louis Scarecrow's goal song should be Friday by Rebecca Black. No one actually likes the song, the only people who like it are either lying to other people or themselves. Most people probably feel the same about the crows. Maybe they "like" being on the team because they can do alright in the regular season, but when push comes to shove, is that where you REALLY want to be? Just some food for thought. As a bonus, I think the Anchorage Armada should use Spongebob Squarepants' fog horn. This could for other nautical teams (Tampa Bay Barracuda, Vancouver Whalers) but the Armada came to my mind first. RE: S54 WFT #1 - Goal Songs - bk1689 - 05-28-2020 Picking one for Calgary is pretty tough as we already have a pretty great one. If I had to redo it though I guess I would go with pretty well any 10 second section of Freaks by Timmy Trumpet. Just a great song. RE: S54 WFT #1 - Goal Songs - Bruins10 - 05-28-2020 I think the easiest thing you can use for the Specters would be a song we all know. The Ghostbusters theme song will obviously work as the Specter is something known as a ghost. WHO YOU GONNA CALL and then you turn off the audio so that the fans in the stadium can scream THE SPECTERS instead of GHOSTBUSTERS. It has the same amount of syllables so it works out perfectly and it also increases audience engagement RE: S54 WFT #1 - Goal Songs - roastpuff - 05-28-2020 I mean, the current SKREEEEE-fest that is the Detroit goal horn is pretty great. But being a Canucks supporter... nothing will beat Holiday by Green Day as a goal song for me. That single song has so many loaded memories for me that it is hard to pass it up. RE: S54 WFT #1 - Goal Songs - kenvald - 05-28-2020 While trying to find a good goal horn for the Vancouver Whalers I decided to take some inspiration from the other professional hockey team in the region, the inferior Vancouver Canucks. And when I did I noticed that they do not have one specific goal song that plays every time the team scores a goal. No, they have individual goal songs for each and every player on the team. To me this is a really neat concept and a fun idea. I wanted to do something similar for my team. But I quickly realized that it would not be as easy and quick as I had hoped it to be. So I went a different route. Instead of having individual or a team-wide goal song. I wanted to have a different goal song played depending on the team we are playing against. So here is my list of goals songs that would play when the Whalers score a goal against a given team. Anaheim Outlaws Song: Inner Circle - Bad Boys A song we all know and love about how bad boys, or outlaws, getting them to think about their actions. Like, they are being scored on by the Whalers... The worst team in the league last season. Anchorage Armada Song: ALESTORM - Keelhauled Keelhauling was the punishment for a lot of things on ships in the past. With each goal we are punishing the Armada crew and dragging them all under our whaling ships. Carolina Kraken Song: Luna Park ride theme song - We're whalers on the moon! I really could not find a good song to fit the Kraken theme, so here is a low effort song choice about whalers harpooning stuff. Colorado Raptors Song: Was (Not Was) - Walk The Dinosaur This song is to make fun of the Colorado dinos. We are walking the old dinosaurs back to hockey school! Detroit Falcons Song: Great Horned Owl Sounds Not a song per se, but the great horned owl is one of the falcon's few natural predators. Gonna spook them real good with some owl sounds and show that they should be afraid of us, not vice-versa. Kelowna Knights Song: Camelot (Knights of the Round Table) - Monty Python and the Holy Grail I chose this song to make some fun of the "knights" from Kelowna. It is very silly, and so are they. Maine Timber Song: The Chopping Song - The Tale of Three Trees Clearly we need some tree chopping related song here as we fell tree after tree against Maine. I could have picked the song "Timber", but this seemed more fitting to Maine's young team. Newfoundland Berserkers Song: You Need To Calm Down - Taylor Swift These rough and "tough" berserkers need to be taught a lesson in chivalry. But before we do that we need to get them to calm down. The poor things are always so stressed, trying to pillage and burn everything. St. Louis Scarecrows Song: Swarming Crow Sounds Similar as for the Falcons. For the Scarecrows we want to show that we are not scared and neither are the crows. Because their scarecrows are terrible, and they should feel bad about them. RE: S54 WFT #1 - Goal Songs - Rangerjase - 05-28-2020 113 Words ![]() Personally, my vote for the Detroit Falcons goal song would be Tubthumping by Chumbawumba. Everyone knows that no matter what, when you knock us down. We get up again. You guys are never gonna keep us down. Everyone likes to pick on Detroit so I feel this is very appropriate. Just a constant reminder for the league. You may knock us down. But we will get up again. You are never gonna keep us down. When we score a goal and this plays it will just fire the Falcons up. A good reminder to the team and to the league. That we will get up again. You are never gonna keep us down. RE: S54 WFT #1 - Goal Songs - Count Chocula - 05-28-2020 Perfect song to inject some funk into the crowd and get them pumped. Also a song that honors the locale. All it needs is a sweet horn to go with it RE: S54 WFT #1 - Goal Songs - mastersheep - 05-28-2020 So for this I decided I am going to create my own horns and songs for each team in the SMJHL. I was able to upload most of these to Soundcloud, but a couple of them were removed so I made those available for direct download. Anaheim Outlaws: My Chemical Romance - We Don’t Need Another Song About California ANA Horn/Song Outlaw fans have heard a lot of songs about California and so here is a song about California that is not a song about California. It's a good song though and it fits with the rebel feel of the team. Anchorage Armada: Sea Shanty 2 ANC Horn/Song Armada means boats and ships and stuff right? Have to get a nice sea shanty in there and the classic soundtrack Sea Shanty 2 from Runescape fits the bill here for the Boat gang. Have a listen if you don’t believe me. Maine Timber: Spose - King of Maine MET Horn/Song This is not the 16 counties song you learned in school folks. The Maine Timber features this special song full of self-burns for the home fans and keeps the fans rocking as they keep scoring. While the entire song is a parody, I still thought this clip was perfect for the team. Carolina Kraken I was going to do a song about Carolina and actually did find a decent one I liked, but the current one “Kraken” from Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest is just too perfect of a fit for the team. So I’m going to cheat here and just leave the song I thought would work otherwise. Parmalee – Carolina https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KFJ7SE63teY Colorado Raptors: Led Zeppelin – Immigrant Song COL Horn/Song It’s cold and icy so this song goes perfectly with the mountainous Colorado terrain where much of the state is covered in ice capped mountains. Just don’t worry about that second line of the song although I suppose there are some hot springs somewhere in the state. Detroit Falcons: Kiss – Detroit Rock City DET Horn/Song Detroit’s fans will wanna rock n’ roll all night to this song when their team scores. Yet another classic song by Kiss gets the fans out of their seats and on their feet. Kelowna Knights: Avenged Sevenfold – Nightmare KEL Horn/Song Now some of you might sigh at this pun, but it really was just too easy of a pick. Avenged Sevenfold rocks and this team’s incredible scoring will give the opposition nightmares after every game. Newfoundland Berserkers: Dropkick Murphys – The Boys are Back NL Horn/Song This is a solid song for a big bruising team and the club welcomes their fans back every time with a potent offense. St. Louis Scarecrows: Warhorse – St. Louis STL Horn/Song The Scarecrows are bound to show opposing fans the way to the exits after this goal song. Yet another oldie, but goodie will lift the roof off the building in St. Louis. Vancouver Whalers The Whalers switched to Brass Bonanza finally and that’s the song I would have used here. It really doesn’t get better than the classic song used by the former real life Hartford Whalers. RE: S54 WFT #1 - Goal Songs - BlackLabelBird - 05-28-2020 Berserkers are legendary warriors, feared in the old world for their violent, uncontrollable attacks. It's only fitting, then, that our goal song would hail from a band lauding viking glory. So when the battle horns fade after the puck is retrieved from behind our enemies goalie, to our satisfaction, and our enemies chagrin, all will hear our call. ![]() Raise your horns raise them up to the sky We will drink to glory tonight ![]() RE: S54 WFT #1 - Goal Songs - Snoopdogg - 05-28-2020 The theme/goal song I would choose for the Kelowna Knights would have to be catchy and of coarse it would need to strike a cord deep inside! Where else to look at other than "Heavy Metal" music! With so many great ones to choose from I will settle for 2 options: 1)AC/DC (Thunderstruck) Do not know how to cut it to 10 seconds but have a listen to the first 10 seconds. 2)GN'R (Sweet Child O'Mine) Same thing here, opening lead guitar last about 10 seconds. RE: S54 WFT #1 - Goal Songs - Thelastheraclid - 05-28-2020 With the Platoon moving to Baltimore the intro to The Wire should be used as the goal song. First the arena is hit with Omar saying "Oh indeed" then the opening lick from the song. The whole arena then sings aling with the opening line "If you walk through the garden / you better watch your back" PERFECTION Intro |
