RE: S69 PT #2: Contract Talks - Aleris - 02-02-2023 Creative Prompt - Considering my last contract talk was literally one word, "Extension?" I guess Conner doesn't need to go far to get the deal done. Afterall, I have been the best player on the Forge for the last 3 seasons it would be silly not to resign me. So what? I'm not gonna hit 2k tpe but I'll hit 1700 tpe before I spiral into the depths of regression this offseason so at least I have that going for me. Other than that, Conner asks for a bean bag couch for his locker and pictures for Lias plastered all over the Philly locker room to remind them of who its the best beau. Oh, and a clause that Lias can tamper Conner at will and not get in trouble. And also peppermint espresso vending machines. The drink of champions. And thats it. Next extension Conner is gonna put in to be back on a line with Evil All-Bran so he's a good player again too. RE: S69 PT #2: Contract Talks - CementHands - 02-02-2023 Player Prompt. Nathaniel doesn't like to involve too many people in his negotiations. He holds a general belief that based on the league's structure for salaries his payment options are pretty standard across the board, and wherever he is is going to be the key player in this. Also, career aspirations play a factor. He's yet to play a game in the SHL, and has a long career in front of him, but when he has a few seasons under his belt it might be time to look for a team where he can win. Obviously the ideal scenario is have that happen with Philadelphia, he's familiar with it, and the plan is to build into a championship team. However, he has absolutely read memoirs from former players who did express regret in not moving and potentially being unable to secure a championship. It's going to come down to where he thinks he can be successful and have a good time, depending on the period in time maybe there are a few seasons wondering as a journeyman, playing for wherever he finds a spot, and fighting for some hardware. RE: S69 PT #2: Contract Talks - tomtommen - 02-02-2023 Written Task: When contract talks come around, who does your player rely on for help? Is it an agent? A parent? A mentor? Nobody? Who do you talk to when it comes time for you to sit down and try to get the best deal for yourself? How long have you known them? Where did you meet them? Why do you trust them? If you don't involve anyone else in these conversations, why not? (150+ words) Tom Pedersen does all contract negotiating by himself. He will talk to his family about what they do think about location in the future, but salary and years on the contract is totally up to Tom Pedersen himself. He is a very loyal person and tends to stick around on team friendly contracts as long as he is a respected part of the team. He also likes to sign multi year contracts. Long contracts give safety and less chance for uprooting. When negotiating for his latest contract, Tom Pedersen, tried to get a release clause in, but it never got accepted. The release clause would be activated if Tom Pedersen’s current team got any butt ugly colours other than natural ice colour in their rink. He still shivers in awkwardness when talking about the rinks of the Whalers or the Mutes. As Tom Pedersen is in his final year he is looking forward to starting negotiating his new contract. Words: 159 RE: S69 PT #2: Contract Talks - Massive Coiler - 02-02-2023 Player prompt: Written Antonio Flusso needed representation when he moved to North America to play professional hockey, and there was never any doubt where he would sign, agency wise. Distant relative and former player, Tony Flow has been an agent since he retired. Tony represented his bastard son Tony Snow (who retired young and went to live way up north somewhere) and more recently, Delver Fudgeson, who had a respectable career as an effective defender throughout his playing days. Antonio had his mother make the call to her estranged half brother, who was more than happy to take the youngster under his wing. While his career as an agent has been hit or miss, Antonio trusts him to make ever deal for him and accepts whatever his agent/uncle thinks is best. Tony also put his nephew into contact with Fudgeson, who retired several seasons ago to give him tips on traversing the modern contract dealings that go along with being an SHL player. All in all, Flusso is in good hands and surely won't screw up horrifically in his next big contract signing. RE: S69 PT #2: Contract Talks - aleks - 02-02-2023 RE: S69 PT #2: Contract Talks - By-Tor - 02-02-2023 Prompt 1: Beck gets down to brass tacks when it comes to contracts: he'll take the hometown discount, a minimum salary for the good of the team. He also likes some no-trade clauses in the contract so he can stay with his powerhouse team forever. He doesn't need the extra money or frills because he makes more money than his contract gives him with sponsorship deals. His face is on all the billboards around Winnipeg drinking some drink or working out at some gym. Who needs a playing contract when you can the the PLAYING contracts, amirite? Ace and Rashford easily oblige because they don't want such a gorgeous player like Beck to leave Winnipeg. And why would he? He has everything he needs right here north of the border. Now Gonzo on the other hand is a right spoiled pastry. Sure, he's my counterpart on the team, but I think I heard he has bubblebaths written into his contract. Beck would never! RE: S69 PT #2: Contract Talks - sköldpaddor - 02-02-2023 PROMPT 1: Lias is not much of a negotiator, but that's kind of what he has an agent for. Lias knows that his agent will always try to get him the best contract possible. So he focuses on some of the superlative kind of contract clauses. It's important to him personally and also just because of his family that any team he plays on is making efforts in the areas of diversity and inclusion, whether it's outreach or game promotions, so he likes to have it in his contract that he will get to be involved in any Pride Night activities, so he can be sure it's actually doing some good and not just a marketing stunt to sell rainbow jerseys. He also insists on having a suite in the arena for home games (he pays for it, of course, he just wants to be sure it'll be available and not sold to anyone else) where he can invite disadvantaged kids from the community to come and see a game. RE: S69 PT #2: Contract Talks - vbottas17 - 02-02-2023 Earlier this week, Alexi Piastri signed a 2 season contract extension with the Minnesota Monarchs. Piastri had some interesting demands as a part of the deal that were not a part of the press release. Alexi has demanded that he play with Dominik Froste. Piastri wants to play with Froste because he has no issue passing him the puck. Froste passed to Piastri all of last season and was a huge reason that Alexi notched a SMJHL record 60 goals. Piastri will receive access to a private jet that will take him to Nevada in between games so he can hang out at his surf ranch. Piastri will also receive a house at the Thermal Club in the California desert. The Thermal Club is an elite community that has been built with the purpose of letting rich people have fun with their toys, namely some of the most prized supercars / racecars in the world. The club features it's own FIA grade 2 race track and is not open to the public. The garage in Piastri's place came stocked with a Ferrari 458, a one of a kind McLaren, and a few open wheel single seaters. Life is good. RE: S69 PT #2: Contract Talks - Nhlbeastmode_7777 - 02-02-2023 When comes down for me really is myself and what I want to do. I think that I want to win and I want to get as much as I can from my team. I want to make sure that I get the most out of this opportunity I want something to make sure that makes want to sign with you. Persuadetion is exactly what brings me in to a team and I think that it is awesome that I want to come to your time. I want to as well make sure that I'm wanted and make sure that I want to come to you. I want to play for you and I will sign on the dotted line. I want me sure that I want to win as well. I want to make sure that it's awesome for me and you. I say that if you sign me it's a welcome sight. If you don't involve anyone else in these conversations, why not? (150+ words) Whenever contract negotiation times come around, Ketil relies on his agent, the same one that helped both his parents when they played professional sports/racing respectively. The agent, along with his parents unique perspectives, allow him to completely understand the nuances of the business and jockeying for dollar amounts. He first met the agent when he was 4 years old when his mother was playing at a small European tennis open. The agent's son and Mirolsav quickly became friends, and over the years as Ketil's talent became clear, the agent and Ketil began to negotiate terms to work together. So far, being family friends and business partners have been a wonderful thing for both parties. Because of his parents' perspectives and the agent's guidance, Ketil has spent very little of his earnings (except those spent on his extensive SHL card collection, don't ask.) and he looks to have a very lavish future ahead once his career is over. Code: 158 words RE: S69 PT #2: Contract Talks - StaticShocked - 02-03-2023 (206 words) Contract negotiations are never a simple time for any one, both player and front office. However, Gallen tends to keep it simple and stress-free to put their mind and their team's minds at ease. "Hey Pete, we've called you in here today to talk contracts. Yours is up for renewal and we find you to be an integral piece of the team." "Sure, always happy to talk about the future." "Are you looking for anything in your latest contract? We're all ears to anything and everything you may want." "Honestly, not looking for too much extra. Just want to help out the team as much as possible, I can take whatever you guys feel is necessary in order to more comfortably re-sign any big impending free agents." "You sure? We have a good amount of cap." "Yeah, don't sweat it. It'll be a while before I feel comfortable enough to command a big boy raise anyway." "Got it, so how does $3m per year for 3 years sound?" "Perfect. Can't wait to get started." "And so are we! Thanks for the simple negotiations." "Hey, no worries. Just wanted to make this as stress-free for both of us." RE: S69 PT #2: Contract Talks - BarnabasCollins - 02-03-2023 Creative prompt Dusty Rhodes has a couple special provisions in his contract. Most teams are hesitant to allow their players to engage in any strenous physical activity during the offseason. Rhodes however does several charity wrestling events during the offseason. It has to be written into his contract that he is allowed to do these events. In case of injury Rhodes also demands his salary go to the charity involved where said injury occurred to make sure they get their funds. Rhodes also demands a wrestling ring in the team's workout facility. He feels that by training in a ring it vastly improves his cardiovascular functions and endurance which totally benefit him when he's on the ice. He also has a clause in his contract that should the Armada win the cup the team will provide him with funds to make every member of the team a specialized championship belt for them to keep to remember the special win. RE: S69 PT #2: Contract Talks - Fantobens - 02-03-2023 Creative prompt- I have tons of riders on my contract. Like a curtain in the dressing room so none of the perverts see my lady bits. I don’t need a different locker room, that would really put a wedge between the team and I. There’s enough of one already with being the goalie. I just need cover to change under wear. Next and just as important, there has to be jersey mikes available at all times. Luckily there is one close to the arena. I asked for one to be put inside the area but they haven’t got back to me on that one yet. Also on make the team get me a car. Nothing fancy, but I don’t want to pay for it. They string me along every off season they might as well pay for my ride. I don’t need to put little stuff into my contract, I just take it from the simps on my team give them an uwu and walk away. Men only think about one thing and it’s disgusting. RE: S69 PT #2: Contract Talks - tweedledunn - 02-03-2023 Code: player prompt RE: S69 PT #2: Contract Talks - slothfacekilla - 02-03-2023 Code: CREATIVE PROMPT - It's everyone's favourite time of year! Contract negotiations! We're not going to worry about the actual hard numbers here, let the agents sort that out! Let's worry about the important stuff! I have an extensive list of demands for my next contract and I am quite happy that the management of the Philadelphia Forge are willing to listen to me. This list is not exhaustive and I reserve the right to add or subtract from it in the future even after the contract has been signed by all sides. At least once a month while in season, Ricky Koivu has to dress up in a gnome outfit and dab in the middle of the locker room to hype the team up. Red Kirkby has to cook a team dinner featuring a Featloaf at least once a season while the contract is in effect. Nibbles the Squirrel's stall needs to be away from mine because he nibbles on the sides of my cards. Graj Virrok's salary will be doubled as long as he leads the team in blocked shots (thank you) Antonio Flusso's stall must by by Nibbles' because I can't have that much hair product around my cards. San-sam Emerson and Lenny Hawk are required to pull me out of any fires I jump into whether in Valheim or on the ice in scrums. Hans Graf is not allowed to use spell check for any team communications First-Name Last-Name and Scoochie Scranton are not allowed to retire while I'm playing Lemo Phil must host a team trivia night once every three weeks during a season Walton Stromberg must redesign the cover of my pack every two seasons Igor Victory must provide cat pictures at least three times a week in season Connor Snooks isn't allowed to up his shooting accuracy while this contract is in effect Evil Allbran must continue running team training while this contract is in effect The league must acknowledge that Luc Blouin was snubbed from MVP nomination last season (unsure how to enforce this) Our GM Kale has to provide puppy pictures three times a week And that's about it for now... 325 words whoops |
