Quote:What groups or clubs have formed on your team plane? Is your player a part of any of them? Who are some of the other players in your group? What do you do? If your player prefers to keep to themselves, tell me what they get up to on their own! (150+ words)

Noel is a big TV/movie guy, so often on the plane you can find him with the window shade pulled down and his laptop in front of him. He's managed to get through a ton of movies and series over the years playing for Baltiimore. Some of his favorites include Game of Thrones (until they ruined it), Succession, Yellowstone, Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul, among many others. He's also watched shows like Trailer Park Boys, Always Sunny, Parks and Rec, Seinfeld, and the Office all the way through numerous times. There's actually a group of guys that have a bit of a movie club where they decide on a movie each week and then discuss it. Sometimes he also plays some games on his laptop, usually easy stuff to stop and start like Civilization or Stardew Valley.

If he's not on his laptop you could also find Noel head first in a good book, or playing cards with a group of guys. Some of the older guys like Pepperoni, Krashwagen, Duncan and Raiden will often play cards or chat on the plane, and Noel will occasionally join them for a few games, but often ends up losing his money to them.

Quote:Written Task:  Tell me about your dream hockey jet. What kind of facilities would be on it? Would it mostly be a place of business where you make everyone watch game tape and get some rest? Or would it be a pure party jet with hot tubs and open bars? Some combination of both? Sky's the limit! Heh. (150+ words).

I think it would be a bit of both. In the front, close to the pilot, you would have a reasonably quiet area where players can either rest for a while or communicate game plans amongst themselves. Further back, you'd have a place for players on the team to have a bit more fun by playing video games or watching movies. Then, you'd get a rowdier crowd that was lounging in hot tubs and drinking tequila. Finally, in the back, would be Mos Eisley: a wretched hive of scum and villainy. Gambling, dancers, maybe some substances that aren't quite illegal and don't show up on the SHL's doping tests. This lawless section of the plane would be reserved for the seediest of the team's players.

Altogether, it functions as a sort of spectrum of order and chaos, with the pilot representing order and quiet, while the tail represents chaos and hedonism. I predict that this arrangement would last about a month before someone from the outlaw tail pushes the limit too far and nearly brings the whole plane down in a Fear and Loathing inspired paranoid fit. But while it lasts... what a sight it would be.

Creative Prompt

The dream jet is a place for players of all kinds to find their homes in the sky. To appease the coaches and hard workers, we have two private TV rooms in the back of the plan for players to review game footage and work with staff on improvements. There are two rooms so both can be used for player development, or one can be used for gaming and movies on a big screen. In the front of the plane, there's the card game tables because in the sky it is always fun to just relax with teammates and share a fun time together. Right by the card tables the bar is within reach for players to relax as well, serviced by staff of course. Lastly, there is the lounging area in the middle with fully reclinable seats and beds so players and just take a nap, read a book, or listen to music. This is for those that like to keep to themselves on the flight. With that, it covers the key amenities of the team!

Player Prompt

Andreas Kvalheim is an old man now, and there's very little he values more than a change to get some rest and relaxation, especially in between games during the SHL's busy and compact schedule. On the team plane, by virtue of seniority he gets to select the best seats near the front of the plane away from the rowdy young guys near the back. He also gets a row to himself and everyone knows not to bother the grumpy old man. When he gets onto the plane, Andreas plops down into his seat, pulls down the window shade, reclines his chair, pops on a set of noise cancelling headphones and immediately drifts into sleep. On the rest of the plane, the two rookies Kikuchi and Boots usually hang out together playing video games while some of the older players prefer to play poker. They tried to get the young guns involved in poker, but the rookies quickly backed out once they realized their bank accounts were getting emptied fast.

Paul koivu is a man that is super focused on always improving his hockey skills so he can be on the top. Any free time for him is used to improve his game, either by playing more hockey, going to the gym to train, or watching old games to learn from his mistake and gather information from other teams. So in his ideal jet, there wouldn't really be any expensive entertainment stuff or anything like that. He would have a big screen to watch replays from his past games, maybe a nice gym with all the necessary equipment to get big muscles. And maybe even, if it was allowed and even possible, have a hockey rink inside the plane. Or just an icy surface with a net would do. Like that paul can practice his shot. But he would need a nice place to make healthy meals also, to get energy back during his long trips away from anchorage.

Prompt 2
Beds, as many beds as we can possibly fit on a plane. I personally cannot sleep on a plane to save my life, even though I traditionally sleep on my back so its not even something like I have to be on my side or stomach. I just can't get comfortable without either leaning to the side or resting my head on the tray table. Given that we are traveling all the time and often at uncommon hours, I think I'd like a full half of the jet to just be beds or cots for people to sleep on. Imagine being able to land relatively well-rested and ready to get to the training facilities or for a night on the town. A lot of people might want hot tubs or bars or something like that, but to me that feels like a nightmare. You end up landing feeling gross or hungover and sick. Instead, my dream is to have a cot to sleep in for a few hours and then landing rested and relaxed.

RE: S64 PT #4: Mile High Clubs - CptGoosar - 04-17-2022

Well i think any tea jet needs to have a wide selection of facilities avalaibpe for the players to use. These facilities need to both provide the players with enough comfort, through the seat and “living” space as well as the on board entertainment. Each set o fears should be done to at least the standard of business class, with reclining seats. There’s not that much need for inflight entertainment due to the maximum length of fligh to bot being in the 10h plus window. However that does not  mean it should be missed. The plan should be equipped with Wi-Fi fast enough to stream all the top Netflix or prime shows.

With regard to catering again, this needs to be to a standard, the facility should included enough beverages for the player to enjoy a well earned relaxing period after any given game. However they should also included facility to cater to player specific needs pre game

I no longer actually bunk with the rest of the Buffalo Stampede in terms of plane rides. The plane rides were getting a bit too crowed with all of the planned upgrade and ideas that I had to make the plane rides better. With how much we travel in the SHL we need to create a fun and strong experience for the plana rides. That is why I had an entire large Cargo Jet commissioned with an entire state of the art hockey rink inside. The hockey rink is always fully operational and I can play games while we are going some place. Sure the jet is massive and has to be kept in a big field as it is too large for any hanger. Sure the gas is absolutely monstrous in price and is going to bankrupt me by the end of the week, but goshdarnit it is absolutey worth it. It is so much fun to play a game while being josteled around by the turn of the skies barreling towards our desination at a million miles an hour.

Prompt 1

When the Calgary Dragons are on the road, they fly around on Air Parm 1, which is a beautiful luxury 747 with all the amenities. It has a full buffet set up where you can usually find the majority of the players sitting around it eating constantly. There is also a casino with Blackjack and poker tables where there is a continuous game going as well. Duncan the rookie must cheat because somehow everyone owes him money! All the seats are both window and aisle seats and there is lots of leg rom and room to recline back for anyone that wants to have a nap after stuffing their face at the buffet. But for Grogu, he is obsessed with sitting behind the cockpit and using the force to pull a little metal ball off the controls. The pilot hates this and is always getting mad but Grogu can't help it, it's so shiny! Plus he always wants the pilot to make the plane go faster and do barrel rolls, which you shouldn't do in a 747 but the pilot indulges him sometimes and then everyone gets mad because the salad bar gets all jumbled up.

PLAYER PROMPT

When Baltimore takes to the air. The team definitely splits up into its own groups. You have the guys who play card games. Those include the chiller players like Blanchet, Wright, and Pepperoni. Then you got some guys who are into books. Sometimes those guys get together to read or talk about them. (Del Vecchio, Komarek, Barron, and Leavitt). Next you have the gaming squad that play board games or video games. This consists of alot of players such as Duncan, Nikiforov, Jones, Kalashnikov, and Maximov. You do get some guys that swing in and out of this like Del Vecchio, Krashwagen, and very rarely myself (Lord Raiden). Now you have the group that usually just sleeps or keeps to themselves while on the plane. Players like myself- Lord Raiden, Krashwagen, Biscuit, Mew Two, and Potvinov. I generally just like to get my rest on those trips especially the shorter ones. Sometimes on the longer flights a much larger crew will get together to watch one of the latest movies out.

PLAYER PROMPT
There are a few different groups on the plane as we travel from city to city for the Tampa Bay Barracuda. To pass time while in the air, the first group of players on the club are the ones who enjoy playing cards with each other. The gather in surrounding seats, get the cards out and play competitively for money. Players in this group include the likes of James Rolanin, Michael Fitted, Strom Chamberlain and Ambacas Cuddles. The next group of the players on the team are the ones who like to find a quiet area of the plane and catch some shut eye. They do not enjoy partaking in the other activities going on with team members while in the air, but would rather close their eyes, get some rest and sleep for the entirety of the flight, while focusing on the upcoming game. The Tampa Bay players in this group include the likes of Ethan Bouchard, Finn von Murphenstein, Luc Blouin and Vladimir Petrov. The last group of Tampa Bay Barracuda players like to do things a bit differently when it comes to passing time while in the air of the team plane, travelling from one city to another. This group likes to sit around together, telling jokes and stories as well as throwing in the latest version of the SHL video game in the X-box or PlayStation and competitively playing against each other. This group is a bit bigger group of teammates as it includes the likes of Aleksander Kozliv, Colin Lambert, Elwulf Jericson, Dwight Knight, Zoltan Topalo and Magnus Liljeström.

RE: S64 PT #4: Mile High Clubs - JURT - 04-17-2022

Prompt one

There are a lot of clubs forming in the Seattle Argonauts jets during our flights and I want to be part of all of them. There is a lot of video games being played, NHL 22 and Super Smash Bros. are two big ones, I am mostly a part of the NHL one because I am a terrible Super Smash Bros. player. We also have lots of card games being played and boardgames too. The best part is when we have long trips and we are well rested, lots of us will start TTRPG games together and that's the most fun we ever get. We get many tables running and sometimes we'll make crossovers and have people from one table join another game so that everyone gets to play in a game with one another to avoid creating division. Mostly we use DnD, but sometimes we'll go a more crunchy way with Mythras, or more story-telling with FATE.

Written Task: What groups or clubs have formed on your team plane? Is your player a part of any of them? Who are some of the other players in your group? What do you do? If your player prefers to keep to themselves, tell me what they get up to on their own! (150+ words)

The Atlanta Inferno fly on a private jet they have jokingly nicknamed the Phoenix after their logo and not because of the time that they had to make an emergency landing in Kansas after they accidentally lit the plane on fire. The many clubs include the tv club which is just a big screen with either a random movie or show that Pavel Jeziak and Eko Van Otter are watching, or the latest ufc fight that Gabe Johnson, Angus McFife XVIII and Pablo Salvatici are watching, the games club which is just another screen with whatever game the team is into at that time, and the slapboxing club that the gm has tried to shut down numerous times. Thankfully SHL players are incapable of being hurt so they can just whale on each other with zero repercussions for hours at a time. There is also the beer club which is just the entire team getting together before they split off to other activities and drinking many beers while they watch back game footage. Many fans believe that if Atlanta didn't drink they would be the undisputed best team in the league because they play every game hungover. Good luck trying to end that club though.
